Sonny Lubick Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Made the mistakes of choosing this restaraunt for my wedding anniversary. Requested a booth a week prior, was sat in a TINY banquette behind a 12 top. I couldn't carry on a conversation across our table. Disappointing. Ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir, Opened it ourselves, Thank goodness wasn't a cork. We re-filled our glasses through out the entire meal ourselves. Staff refused to clear our dirty plates. The unbelievable treat of our evening, the staff told my wife to retrieve her used salad fork so that she'd have a utensil for her her entree. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? This place is a joke. MASSIVE waste of money! I was literally so embarrassed! Cant find legit fine dining in this town, if you have a special occasion, go to denver, Capital Grille or Flemings, this place is WAY outta their league and ripping people off! Sonny Lubick is a VERY silent partner apparently!
This is a great restaurant for a special occasion. The atmosphere is classy and the food is really good. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided some great recommendations. After the meal, we did feel rushed to leave as the staff started taking plates off the table before we were done and were stopping by our table regularly to ask if we were done or could clear plates. As we still had wine in our glasses and were in a middle of a good conversation, it would have been better to ensure waters were full and maybe even refill the bread. After all, we just spent $100+ on dinner, so there shouldn't be such a rush to turn over the table and rather focus on customer service.
We'r new to Fort Collins, this was our second visit to Sunny's for our 37th Anniversary, just the two of us, we wanted special occasion memories but without a lot of fuss from the staff. It was exceptional! Wonderful service (knowledgeable and attentive but did not intrude on our romantic evening of togetherness - thank you Vince), great quiet dinner experience. Entrees were fantastic, great selection of wine (had a lovely Chateauneuf-du-Pape - again thank you Vince). and shared a wonderful dessert (Warm Butter Cake). Very, very enjoyable special occasion!
It was a special occasion, that is why we went there. We had a wonderful time, food and service was excellent. Sonny's is one of the better places to dine. Not cheap but not over the top either. I try to go there a couple of times a year. There are many fine places to eat in Ft. Collins but Sonny's never fails to impress. They know how to set a table and how to serve food. The help is attentive but not bothersome.
Have been here many times and enjoyed food, service and ambiance. This time, with early reservations and few customers, we were placed next to the very NOISY kitchen when so many other tables were available, had a waitress who was unprofessional and very unattentive. Had to wait very long time for bread and only when my husband reminded her. He also had to remind when bread was empty. Many faults on service - not our usual experience.
I am a local resident who tries to go to Lubick's once a month as a special treat. It is more than I normally pay at a good restaurant but for that special occasion it is one of the best places to go in NOCO. I am never let down by the excellent quality of the meat, sides and the drinks. I seldom have enough room for dessert, but those are also top notch. I am treated like a king by the staff and always leave with a smile.
We eat here several times a year. Usually great food, great service. Sometimes loud, but that’s just to be expected. Tonight the service was definitely subpar. Incomplete entrees, slow service, inattentive, and disappointing overall. If this had been our first time here, we wouldn’t be back.
Celebrated our Anniversary at Sonny Lubick's. I think this is the finest restaurant in Fort Collins. It has a great combination of location, ambience, and great food. It's expensive, but worth it. We had the steakhouse salads for starters, and two ribeyes and a lobster tail. All were prepared flawlessly. We really like the atmosphere of Sonny Lubick's. It's our go-to place for all special occasions. We also like the live music they have in the bar area on the weekends.
Food was very good -- we had halibut and scallops, so can't comment on the steak! Also the calamari appetizer was very good -- crunchy and came with a delicious dipping sauce. Service was very good also. I look forward to eating there again for a special occasion!
We typically drive to Denver for our dinners out this time we chose to stay somewhat local. We used to go to the Canyon Chop House which is now closed. This was our first time at Sunny Lubick’s, it was good atmosphere, the people were great and the service was also good. We got there at 5:50 for 6 o’clock reservation. We were seated immediately in a great spot. We do not get our food until 7:45. If we were in a group waiting two hours for the food might not seem so bad because of common table conversation however on a one on one date two hours might be a little long?
As for my wife and I, we enjoyed the time away from the kids and didn’t mind the break.
It was nice to find local place that we can go to instead of driving the hour south for dinner.
Great quality steaks. Tender, rich, indulgent. Staff was good and service was okay. We were in town for homecoming and had to make some last minute changes to our reservation to deal with game time. We moved to Friday from Saturday and although booked we were squeezed in and seated almost to the minute of our reservation. Nice jazz ban entertained in the bar area.
Wow! What a difference a few years makes! Excellent meal: Oscar filet with sweet potato mash and asparagus. I started with a very tasty spinach salad. Also, I enjoyed a beautiful cabernet which complimented my meal perfectly. We'll definitely return...often.
The preparation of the food was described as sounding very special. Actually it was all just average.
The steak special for $32 was overpriced.
I must say I was very disappointed.
Comparing this place to the many other ones I eat at a lot in Fort Collins I do not see the reason for such a higher price in the meals.
