Thank you for making my birthday special! The restaurant is so elegant and classy. World class customer service as well as a breathtaking view of the NYC.
The restaurant is beautiful. The appetizers and drinks were really good, but they bread was hard. The main course on the other hand I was not happy with. My husband had the shrimp which tasted like the sea. I understand the meaning of fresh fish but it was too fresh and left an after taste in your mouth. I had the skirt steak. Was a little rough and not well seasoned. With the price of the entree, i would have expected the food to be way better then it was. I've heard a lot of good things about this spot so I gave it a try. Guess I cam on a not so good day evening. All it takes is one time for me.
Good food, good music with a great view! I loved the ambience and it was perfect for my anniversary dinner.
This was my first time going there and it was perfect. Friendly service, good food, great music and beautiful view. I would definitely go back.
Great food! Beautiful view amazing staff
The food was great. They were very attentive and accommodating (we were sitting outside and it got chilly and they moved us to a table near a heater). The restaurant and views were beautiful. It was a Wednesday night so it was pretty quiet but I would love to go back on the weekend for a more vibrant crowd!
The ambiance was great, but everything else was subpar.Decent customer service. Decent food. The best part of my meal was my appetizer & dessert. My meal was the salmon, & it tasted bland. I was expecting more considering it got good reviews, but overall experience was ok.
It was ok I was expecting much better I wasn't too happy with food service was good a little over price I had Chilean sea bass was sick all nite
Food not worth the price. Rumbas is better. Not much to choose from, ropa Vieja was drowned in tomato sauce. Given with no beans. Plates are small. And the price is high. Not worth it. Service was great though
It’s was outstanding. Great food and drink. Would definitely be back.
The service was great, the enviroment, the food was excellent everything was on point. However i didn’t like the fact that a put a request on open table and o didn’t get ot because they didn’t have a hostess that day. It was a wedding anniversity i wanted to surprised my hisband.
Very beautiful place for a special evening. Service was good and food was also good. The location and view is really nice.
Service and atmosphere was a 10. The food was a bit under seasoned for my taste and my food was delivered cold. The chef did remake it and came out personally to apologize.
Absolutely enjoyed our visit to Son Cubano, had a great evening, service was excellent our server Andrea was fantastic, food was fresh and tasty, drinks awesome. Highly recommended!
Service was okay but the food quality was poor for such a pricey place. The view was the best part of the visit.
Our waiter Andres L. was very attentive and provided excellent customer service. I reserved a table to celebrate my parents' birthday (same day!) and we sat outside in-front of the breathtaking view of the city. Amazing experience. Highly recommend!
Beautiful view and great service!
Food came out cold and it was hot in the restaurant; could not feel the air conditioning.
the food was amazing and the view was beautiful. The restaurant is beautiful. The only complaint is that the waiter did not ask if we wanted appetizers after ordering the drinks. We had to tell her. She was not focused. But she was very nice.
Great table, great view, great food, fantastic cocktails (thanks to Chris the bartender) decent wine selection. A little pricey, but the view makes it worth it.
Servers were super friendly, professional and very attentive. Food was delicious and the view is breathtaking. Best part was the second vice was amazing they made my friends and I feel like super stars.
Son Cubano offers a nice selection of wines, cocktails, appetizers, entrees and desserts. While the atmosphere was lovely and the view beautiful, the prices were a bit high. I assume this was true because of the waterfront location and the area it is in. Although the food was delicious and the place elegant, I’ve had better Cuban food and it was not as pricey. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion like a birthday but don’t bring your own cake or they’ll attempt to charge you a “cutting fee”of $3 pp. I spoke up about this and it was taken off the bill which I appreciated, but $9 was a ridiculous charge for this. Had it been only a few dollars, I would’ve paid it. My server Jordan was very knowledgeable about the entrees and was most helpful and charming. I would come back again but only for a special occasion.
As soon as i sat down table wasnt stable rocking back forth, waiter cursed thinking he left his cell phone on the table not professional at all. Drinks where horrible , food was cold . Will never go back !!
Son Cubano is captures the vibe of NJ’s Gold Coast better than any other restaurant I’ve seen. Sitting on the Weehawken waterfront across the Hudson from midtown Manhattan, the feel is both energetic and relaxing at once. We went for my wife’s birthday, and we absolutely loved it. The cocktail menu was creative, but true to the theme. The empanada appetizer was fantastic and definitely sharable. The entree portions were quite generous, and everything was well prepared. We can’t to go back to Son Cubano.
Gorgeous view does not compensate for clumsy service and mediocre food. The wait time was inexcusably long, our waiter made several unpleasant mistakes and more after apologizing.
It was a nice environment with a beautiful view of the city skyline. The food was great and the portions were perfect for one person. The only problem was that they never brought out our appetizer. Definitely recommend.
Waited 45 minutes for our appetizers and our food came out before we even had time to finish our appetizer
45 minute trek for us but well worth it. Will go back. I am Cuban-American and I grew up eating this food and our food at Son Cubano was expertly prepared and delicious. I really enjoyed my shrimp ceviche and churrasco steak. The churrasco steak was accompanied by a spicy red sauce which I enjoyed but my wife and I both missed the typical green oily cilantro based sauce that usually comes with churrasco steak. The servers needed to be prompted into action which was a bummer but overall they were very courteous and friendly. Even though I loved my menu selections, the menu is quite varied and I am anxious to go back and try some of the other menu items.
Relaxing and enjoyable evening by the waterfront . The food and drinks were delicious as always.
Food, view and customer service is all amazing. Perfect for any date or just for a great place to eat. Must go
Everything was good, just felt a lil bit rushed. Waitress kept insisting on asking if we would like a drink, like she just wanted to sell. It was a lil bit annoying
Very good food presentation and flavors
Mojitos are really bad 🤮and too much lime
Too slow service and the staff are a little rude 🤨
I choose it to celebrate my birthday along with my family and I felt like that I did a wrong choice
Although that I specified the reason of my visit (birthday) into my booking process and mentioned it to the staff it was ignored.😏
A bit overpriced but you’re paying for the views.
Nice place, good food! I’ll be back!!
Great food alongside great views of New York City.
Our waitress was great, food was wonderful ambiance was great
Lively upscale Cuban restaurant with breathtaking views of the NYC skyline and outdoor dining options. Great spot to enjoy cocktails or a pitcher of sangria with friends or family. Food is rather disappointing, small portions that come with a hefty price tag and lack of the authentic Cuban flavor you’re expecting.
The date itself was awful but the venue was very nice
Food is not prepared to authentic standards. If you want authentic Cuban food with the traditional preparations, presentation, and flavor - this is not the restaurant for that.
The food seems like it is based on orbiting al recipes that got lost in translation. Result is a disappointing meal.
Drinks are expensive and super small - never seen anything like this. A full cocktail is the size of a couple shots. Very odd they would do this.
It took 40+ minutes to get the appetizers on a slow Sunday night. Service is super slow and they seem to have 2 waiters services approximately 30 outdoor tables. The waiters are slow and the kitchen is slower.
When the food does arrive, it is disappointing.
Amazing views of NYC. Excellent location and beautiful setting.
I would recommend many of the other great restaurants in the area.
Very good, authentic Cuban food with a spectacular view of the city. The service could have been better and the drinks are very expensive.
