Solterra Owner and Winemaker Chris Van Alyea grew up in Sonoma County and has been making wine for the last 15 years from grapes sourced from Sonoma county, Lake County, Paso Robles, San Diego County, and Baja Mexico. Great house Cabernet. Food was very good. The Brussel sprouts were over the top! 3 main dining areas, the bar was very loud, but the barrel side was quiet. Outside by the fireplace looked like a good date spot. Servers were knowledgeable and friendly. The person at the front was not very friendly.

Went there for New Year's Eve Had the mushroom soup that didn't taste like mushrooms The filet tartar was decent The main course selections were pretty lame I had the pot roast which was very fatty I'm willing to give them a try again their menu looked interesting

The menu on New Year's Eve was lacking, and definitely not worth the price. I was looking very much to trying this place, as I have just moved back into the area, and am always trying new places. I would have a difficult time recommending this restaurant to others after my experience.

My wife and I like to come here a couple of times per month and have always had a good experience. This particular night there was a wedding party onsite and they were sold out of the Hanger Steak at 7:30? The team made it right for us and made my wife happy, which is the hopeful end result of any night out! The server was less informative and attentive than we are used to, but average. We will definitely be back and chalk this one up to an off night.

It was either a new menu or chef, but the food was definitely better than 6 months ago.
The paella had a nice combination of flavors and the hanger steak had good flavor but lacked something on presentation.
I do wish they paid a little more attention to having a gluten free menu.
Glad to say we'll be back again soon.

Great food - it seemed like they had an off night on this visit however. The server was MIA for 15 plus minutes at a time ( initial greet after seating , then after food delivery, and then after plates cleared 15 minutes for check) even though the restaurant was very slow. We are usually VIP status there as I know the owner very well -perhaps the night before they were slammed with holiday rush, but definitely everything was not up to its usual standard. The food was still good but the service and lack of overall attitude kinda ruined it on this visit.

Solterra is definitely our favorite restaurant in Leucadia. It has a unique, warm and friendly ambience, a great menu that changes just often enough to avoid repetition, an excellent wine selection and a very professional staff. The winery is a nice bonus.

The wine cellar is a warehouse and would be good for groups who like wine.

We ordered the octopus, the asparagus flatbread a d cauliflower. Each meal came out burnt. I had to check to see if my mom was doing the cooking. It was quite bad, the octopus took charred to a new level and the flatbread smelled like burnt bread before even tasting it. Hands down the worst meal of 2017. The wine was decent, but I would pass on this place.
