Food was delicious and cannot thank our waiter John enough for the remarkable service! My boyfriend and I stayed on property for a weekend to celebrate our anniversary and John really went above and beyond to make sure our dinner at Solstice was special. Tremendous customer service; both friendly and attentive. (He had us half-convinced to move to Stowe). Great travel recommendations from him as well. We had a hard time leaving! It's service like this that really sets these places apart. We will be back!

One of the best meals ever! We both had the shushi special and acorn squash soup. Cocktails were very good too! I highly recommend!!

The food and ambience were wonderful. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. My boyfriend and I capped off the night with drinks by their fire pit outside. We'll definitely come again when we come back to Vermont!

Booked for dinner here. Long delays to get starter, which arrived cold. They corrected this and recooked again. Good quality food, when you eventially get it, but due to delays in kitchen service cannot recommend. Waiter was excellent. Tried to make amends.

Good ambiance, so had good expectation, especially given the price. Ordered shrimp, unsuccessful effort at sophistication, but ok. If you really want to taste Argentinian prawns, try Mifune in NYC. But then the steak was terrible. Not just that medium rare came out as medium, it was tough and bone dry with outside burnt tasting like charcoal. For the price, not again.

Decent food. Good apps. Over-priced restaurant posing as a high end restaurant. Convenient if staying at the resort. Know what you are getting and you will be only minimally disappointed.

We had an excellent dinner to celebrate our anniversary! We were also celebrating with our friends who also had an anniversary. Great ambiance and delicious food! Our waiter was excellent and offered to accommodate all our needs. We also had a great table by the fireplace!
It was a very memorable and wonderful night for all of us!

Enjoyed a recent dinner at Solstice while staying at the Lodge. Service was exceptional and overall the food was very good. I had the risotto and my wife the scallops. Both were excellent. One disappointment was the tiramisu which was quite dry and didn't impress. However overall this was a very good meal nicely accompanied by an excellent wine list.

We have gone to Solstice every year since they have been opened for a special dinner with friends when we vacation in Vermont. It is unbelievable how this restaurant, which we considered fine dining, has deteriorated. They use to promote local 'everything' from cheeses and produce to local fish and meats.
I suspected something had changed when they did not return my call when I tried to make reservations (so I ended up making them through Open Table). The menu selection is horrible, nothing for a vegetarian (my wife). I order the Quattro Fromage Ravioli for an appetizer and it was two small raviolis submerged under olive oil. We ordered broccolini as a side vegetable and it was so burnt it was inedible. The Salmon was not wild. They were out of the pork entree. I ordered scallops and they were burn, flavorless disgusting. Dinner for four people with cocktails was $363.00 plus tip.
The chef has no idea what he is doing. Reminds me of an unskilled novice who thinks if he decorates the plate with a smear of carrot puree he has done something upscale. Dinner was an embarrassment. We won't be back. The question is why would Stowe Mountain Lodge which is an upscale facility denigrate their showcase restaurant?

The food was excellent, but the service was extremely slow and the restaurant wasn't even busy. I'm not sure if it's worth going back.......it's too bad since the food was so good.

Summer brunch when Stowe Mountain Resort was very quiet. Day was beautiful but there was no outdoor seating available. Windows in resort didn't open either...sort of strange...but I guess it's geared to only winter dining.
Prices were very high..$28 per adult but no real "wow" in food nor atmosphere. Server was very sweet!!

My husband and I recently celebrated our first anniversary at Solstice. We had left a comment on our Open Table reservation. We were greeted with congratulations from the hostess, champagne glasses with strawberries were waiting on our table, our waitress greeted us by pouring a bottle of champagne. The manager stopped by our table to check in and wished us a happy anniversary. After enjoying our fabulous meal, our waitress surprised us with a platter of chocolate covered strawberries! Thoughtful staff and creative fare, definitely a great spot for a romantic dinner!

This was a family get-together. Was disappointed not to be in the main part of the dining area like last year, by the window, and despite the fact that other tables were empty we were placed RIGHT next to another occupied table.

We were treated exceptionally well by the staff. Service was great, dinner was fantastic, dessert was underwhelming.

favorites were the salmon poke appetizer, and both of our entrees, but the best entree we had of the two was the dayboat scallops with cous cous. The herbed butter and the cous cous were very good.

We only had the tiramisu for dessert, which was comped to us for our anniversary (as well as a couple glasses of champagne). Very nice, and unexpected gesture. The tiramisu wasn't very good, but the staff made us feel very good on our special occasion. We will be back.

Wow. We went there for a wedding, but our anniversary was the day before, so we came early. We had a great meal and great service. I don't eat much beef but had the pot roast and it was outstanding. My wife had the salmon, same review. Service was great and they gave us special stuff for our anniversary. And what a beautiful setting!

We basically had the place to ourselves, as it is definitely low season up there, but Mae took fantastic care of us, and the food was excellent! We had the cheese plate; I had the scallops and my husband had the steak, and the kitchen sent out an appetizer on the house (it was my husband's birthday, and very slow) of bbq shrimp with avocado and jicama - sounds odd, but it was quite tasty. And, we had the tiramisu for dessert - WOW! I wish that I had had some room left because I wanted to eat more, but could not. Probably more of a special occasion place, but definitely worth it, if that is what you are seeking.

It is mud season in Vermont and one of the joys of eating out during this time is that the restaurants are not crowded. In fact we were the only people in the restaurant - there were folks at the bar. We were seated by the fireplace and because it was nippy, they turned it on for us. One of my favorite meals at Solstice is their pot roast and it did not disappoint. We shared a salad with peas and pea sprouts and a truffle vinaigrette. Jim had the steak which was also very good. We eat here twice or so a year, it is expensive, but worth it.

Food was hit or miss. Tuna sushi appetizer special and venison were wonderful but terribly overpriced ($20 & $46 respectively.) The rest of the meal was not memorable. Our fellow patrons shared similar comments about their selections as well. Staff was friendly. Would probably go back if invited and give it another chance. It's location in the resort gives it an obvious adavantage but I would rather drive to Hen of the Wood or Michaels on the Hill if given the choice.

Like the lodge that Solstice resides in, Solstice is an A+ in terms of the facility, but only a D+ when it comes to service and staffing. I can appreciate that it is a hard business location and that it is challenging to hire and train staff for this restaurant that only makes money a few weekends a year, but it is frustrating to: 1) have such a standard non-special breakfast buffet and 2) be in such a beautiful restaurant setting, but have the hostesses and waitron be so goofy.

Service was poor; although, we witnessed a waiter at another table who sounded awesome. We got no suggestions, were seldom checked back in on, etc. Food was ok, but food close by was much better and less expensive (i.e., worth the 4-6 mile trip down the road).

My parents have been telling me about Solstice for the last year, so I went in thinking this was going to be a transformative restaurant experience. I'm sure my expectations were too high, but the overall experience was well below the hype.

Yes, Stowe's biggest and best resort is impressive. Yes, the owners spared no expense in building out the space. But given that Stowe, Vermont is such a charming town with so many intimate and well crafted dining options, Solstice felt like the big corporate brother that didn't care whether you liked the place or not. The food was served cold, the combinations of ingredients tried way too hard, and the service, though relatively attentive, felt like the place wasn't that concerned about making my mom's 70th birthday dinner memorable.

The food was decent but ultimately forgettable--nothing really made any of us feel an urgent need to comment or share with each other as we plodded along through our meals.

I'm not convinced anything about Solstice was unique for Stowe...except the price. Be prepared to feel like you're paying more for the resort's opulence and reputation than for what actually comes out of the kitchen.
