Service was excellent. Waitress was friendly and professional. Food is okay, nothing memorable. On the expensive side which is expected given this is the only restaurant open for dinner on the mountain. My wife had the special, sea bass, which was two very thin and small pieces of fish. I had the lamb shank which was very good. Room is pleasant. Do not sit against windows on a cold evening. Sat there and had to move. Would not rush back.
Solstice was delicious! The tomahawk ribeye for two was perfectly prepared. Our service was excellent as well. The restaurant was a little loud because we were seated by the opening to the bar, but other tables looked cozier. The food and drinks were excellent and it is the perfect place for a nice dinner in a ski resort!
It was ok. Nothing special. Service very robotic and forced. Pricey for hotel fare.
I was surprised that Solstice was as good as it was given that the food elsewhere in the resort is so ridiculously overpriced. The work by our server was outstanding...professional and courteous. The "front" people calling about the reservation were neither. It was freezing rain and my 2 guests could not make the 1+ hour drive and they are threatening me about charging $20 per "missing" person even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Furthermore, I called earlier in the day to advise. Anyway, the sushi was very fresh and well prepared as were all of the dishes. Cocktails were interesting. Wine was overpriced but it is a resort so not a big deal.
Good food, very nice waiter, well located.
Went for a birthday dinner. Overall pleasant staff however the food was sub-par and there were many kids running around.
We have been going to The Lodge at Spruce Peak since the opening 10 years ago and I can honestly say the food some years has been fair. I know the chef changes pretty often because of the seasonality of the resort but the food offerings were extraordinary good this past weekend.
We ate at Soltice on Friday night and it has never been better. Hourglass was our choice Saturday night and it was a great choice. We aslo had drinks and small bites in the lobby and they were also very good.
Overall the best food since we started going to the Lodge.
Overall good but overpriced
Awful. Make the drive for real food. Extremely slow and very poor service. I would overlook considering location if the food was good, but it wasn't even edible and I was hungry, left starving. Management didn't even apologize. Would not recommend even if desp.
The Chef was amazing and went out of his way to make our favorite
Great steaks! Chef was awesome!
We enjoyed our dinner very much. Our server Dawn Marie was great! Very caring and personable and on top of service. The sommelier leaves less to be desired. He was asked by our server to come to the table 3 times and still we saw him to attending to another table repeatedly. We ordered our wine without his assistance after our appetizers came, even though we had some questions. When he did get to us there was 0 apology. He just said, oh, you already ordered. When he brought the wine he was exuberantly telling us about the wine and what a good choice we made. which we di btw, it was awesome. But, a genuine apology would have gone a very long way and been much more professional. That being said, the lamb shank and wine were very good and our dinner was enjoyable.
Much more casual atmosphere than fine dining. And with a fine dining billing and expensive entrees - $130 for a steak - a patron of the establishment should not endure children from the attached hotel darting by and crawling through tables to complete a scavenger hunt the restaurant in conjunction with the hotel participates in.
We were seated right away. Waitress came over and explained the menu. There were 6 of us and we ordered our drinks . The waitress came back a few minutes later to take our food orders. A few minutes later one out of the 6 drinks arrived. I had to flag the waitress down a few minutes later to let her know we only received the one drink. She immediately got the rest of the drinks but it was about 20-25 minutes after our drink order was taken. Food was very good Except for the Tomahawk steak. We ordered it for two , they split the steak in the kitchen and honestly it didn’t look like a tomahawk , we never saw the big bone and it didn’t taste that great, especially for $130 . The brussel sprouts, mushrooms and fries were excellent. Chicken dish was also very good.
Kids buffet was terrible. Stale bread, no cheese for burgers. No options for kids if they want to order off the regular menu. Bussers took appetizers when we went to buffet before we were done. Hostess was not polite. Waiter was nice, but did not make up for the rest of the experience. We stay at the lodge a few times a year and always give it a shot. Unfortunately, we won’t tey it again.
Beautiful and delicious...Jonathan is a rockstar he knows his food and DRINKS!
Went with my family and was really disappointed. Many of the items on the menu were gone by 8:00. The children’s buffet was cold and the prices for steaks were more expensive then a really good steak house....150 for a steak here? Come on! We ordered scallops and received 3 for 38.00. My pasta was terrible. We spent 120 with tip which was a total waste of money. I never write reviews but this was awful.
The food was good. Many things on the menu are quite sweet (maple glaze, etc) so our options were limited.
The waiter was as nice as one can be. However, he was a banquet waiter who was filling in during the busy season so he couldn’t answer any questions about the menu. We felt badly making him huddle with other waiters or the kitchen staff every time we were curious about a sauce with an unfamiliar name (like Fregola sardus). Also, they were out of the filet (which we wanted) and substituted the fish).
All in all, at a $250 for 2 without dessert it was nice but not worth it.
We were a party of 5 on Christmas Eve, we were very disappointed , at our arrival we had to wait 20 minutes because our table was not ready. It was a prix fixe menu , that was ok , but for $ 65 the choices were not terrible : caesar salad was an option (you get caesar salad on a normal menu) pear and endive salad. The lamb was cold and not tender at all, the pot roast was ok, for desert there was no option, they served only a glass of milk and 4 cookies. We were there last year and had dinner a la carte, that was great. So we thought that for Christmas it would be at least the same if not better. We will not go back in the future.
It was amateur hour at solstice. Place is a joke. Have been going to Stowe for several years, always liked this restaurant. Has gone downhill. Waiter was borderline incompetent. My son and I both ordered steak, mixed up the plates. Not too difficult now, is it. Isn't this what they do for a living? No value for your $. Don't waste your money.
Would be better with more entree selections
I went to Solstice for an Anniversary dinner. The service was really good! Our waitress was Jen. The only downside to the night was that there was a limited amount of food and side options. Overall it was a great dinner, service and ambiance for our Anniversary dinner!
I took my wife here for her birthday. Our meal was excellent and the service was outstanding. I definitely will be back.
Our first visit to this restaurant. We booked it because it looked impressive on the web site. The décor lived up to the web presentation. What surprised me was the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. I had the lamb shank and was captivated by the different tastes and textures used in the presentation. My wife had the salmon. She was impressed with the topping on the fish. Finally, we were taken good care of throughout our meal. No fewer than four individuals came to us asking if everything was to our approval. The answer was definitely yes. A little expensive but for a special night out this would be my first consideration in the future.
Extremely good service. Our server Adam was beyond excellent. The food and atmosphere were fantastic great. We were there for our anniversary. It was a bit pricey beyond what we expected though.
What a beautiful place!! Very warm, cozy, romantic environment. Food was tasty with ample portions! Our waitress Brandy was amazing! She was attentive and made some good recommendations. We will be back!
Food was nicely prepared but the presentation of my duck entree was unfortunate, looked like it had just been shot with the sauce application. Music was a tad off from the setting. Atmosphere was nice and staff attentive. Just something not quite cohesive about the whole experience.
Service with Brandy was more than excellent ! Seasonal plate (braised pork with appels) was good but salmon was not fresh as we expect for this price.
My wife and I came here for dinner when on our honeymoon and it was amazing food with an amazing view. Service was on point and outstanding.
Overpriced for the quality, limited menu. $240 for a dinner for 2 .... Should be amazing food, atmosphere and service. not just average across the board. Don’t waste your money or time. Stowe has soooo much more to offer.
Solstice looks nice but its pretentiousness leads to high prices compared to other restaurants in Stowe. The food was good but no better or more creative/imaginative than other places that are half to 2/3 the price
Great atmosphere and a delicious meal....highly recommend!
Currently the best place in Stowe. Get the pork cutlet. It is superb.
Not able to provide menus for 20 minutes
Excellent service and food as always
We’ve dined at this testaurant multiple times solely out of convenience while staying at the lodge. Service is always fair to good but food is constantly below average and far overpriced.
When we arrived at the mountain lodge, where the valet parking was,the valet sent us around the back searching for this restaurant and parking, wasting 20 minutes! The food was delicious (I recommend the Gnudi!), the restaurant has nice ambiance and the waiters were friendly, but our table was right by the entrance (and strangely there were both customers and waiters walking by with plates of food throughout) and the service was sporadic, at times rushing the meal along and at others, forgetting our food. I would go back on a less busy weekend!
Very limited menu. My wife had trouble finding something and had to ask for something off menu - which they accommodated but charged heavily for.
Place was nice looking and warm cosy ambience, but food was mediocre - sounded much nicer than it actually was and much too pricey for the quality. I’ve never been to a restaurant that serves a cider in a can to your table that you have to ask for a glass for. Kind of set the tone. I had smoked corn bisque which was alright (although the pork belly was more like cheap sausage) and my husband had the grilled peach toast - which was fridge cold like it had been prepared earlier and using the ricotta like cement to hold everything in place, not really what we were expecting for $18. Chicken for main was chewy, beans were a bit old and the Parmesan fries we ordered were forgotten about. Dessert is cookies and ice cream which were ok but again nothing particularly special. We didn’t complain because it was alright and edible, we chalked it up to not meeting the expectations that the price or the setting had given us. Overall, I’d say not worth the money, disappointed given the price and wouldn’t recommend/go back.
Beautiful setting. Very good food with excellent presentation and wonderful service.
