I wish we could have come to solstice sooner. The meal was amazing and so delicious. Everything we had from the pig tail and rabbit saddle to the wine and cocktails was so tasty. I highly recommend everyone to check out this little gem before it closes. I’m sad I didn’t get to try it in the summer or spring. Thanks for making my husband’s birthday very memorable. Sad to see you go from the Edmonton food scene.
I had the lamb shank and it fell off the bone, so delicious! My husband and I were disappointed to learn that this restaurant might not be open for much longer so I would highly recommended that anyone try it while they can!
I heard that Solstice will be closing in order to reorganize. I hope not -- it remains one of my favourite fine dining restaurants, and if I had the metabolism for it, I would eat there every week.
Amazing. Closing February 16/19 for good. Make sure ypu get there before it’s too late!
I had an amazing anniversary dinner here. We had the wild boar rillette and the rabbit saddle as appetizers, the pickerel as a main course and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Everything was outstanding, the pickerel was cooked just right and the sauce on top was amazing. They also had good wine and cocktails. All in all it was a great experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to come back!
Love this place and will continue to come back. Everything was incredible, and our server was fantastic.
Excellent food! Everything we selected, from appetizers, mains, to desserts was simply outstanding. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic restaurant and a great meal.
Hidden gem - outstanding food in a small neighbourhood bistro with a cozy ambience. Fantastic value for money. Menu changes with the season. Had the venison from the winter menu which was simply outstanding, my partner had the lamb - equally succulent. Beautifully presented with accompanying vegetables and interesting accompaniments. Only potential downside was not a lot of choice for vegetarians - this is a carnivore's menu.
It was my wife’s birthday. The ambulance was not as romantic as I would have like. The lighting could have been dimmer, but the food and service was amazing!
Was my second visit here and it didn't disappoint. Food and service were excellent.
Got the squash soup, tuna, beef chuck, and wild boar to start and they were all very good. Beef and tuna were tender, pork was good. Everything was seasoned well and was ok point. I got the lamb shoulder for my main and it was amazing. Very tender and the orzo was very good. Would recommend this place to anyone in Edmonton. Prices are good.
Amazing food. Exceeded our expectations. The presentation is a bonus. Worth every penny. You should try their beef tenderloin and pork chop. And ooh never thought Beets soup would be such a bomb! Delicious Delicious food.
Great service. Sparkling Clean bathroom.
You Gotta Eat Here😍
Had a very pleasant dinner from this consistent and dependable spot. They've really up'd their cocktail game and was amazed by the Cauliflower Milk Punch (vegan friendly!). The poutine croquettes are worth going for alone, great beef dishes, I was a little dispointed by the duck confit fettuccine for the lack of big chucks of duck - there's lots of duck but it's pulverized into the sauce. All round good spot though that deserves the 'hood's support.
Wonderful service with attention to detail and absolutely outstanding food made for a very special family birthday. We can’t wait to go back!
We have been there about 5 or 6 times and Solstice never disappoints. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a restaurant with amazing food and service staff. Will definitely be back
I could go on forever about the food itself; the beef, lamb, venison, salmon - no matter the meat it's phenomenal, and even more spectacular is the dish that's created around it.
The cocktails are superb, the espressos and cappuccinos are delectable, and the wine. My God, the wine.
It's not just about the food though - the service is exquisite, somehow remaining incredibly knowledgeable without being pretentiousness.
Solstice is a must-eat if you're in Edmonton longer than two hours.
Went with company of 3 and we each shared main courses and appetizers and needless to say everything we each sampled was good and everything we ate from one another plate we each would have bought on our own accord so very impressed as it didn't seem what you ordered it was delicious. For portion size 2 of my friends were filled and had to get a carry out dish while the other was left wanting, but all in all believe it was fair. The drinks, as well was a very nice touch, and very tasteful. Would definitely recommend it for a fine dining experience for a couple, group outing, or event. Well met, well played.
Food was amazing! Best beef tenderloin I’ve had!!! Service was top notch and the entire experience was better than I could have expected.
Amazing cocktails the wild boar & venison were above & beyond!
Best meal I’ve had in awhile.
Food was delicious but service and ambiance were average. Took almost 10 minutes to be greeted/water filled once seated at table and waitress seemed to ignore us unless she had to give us food/debit machine. Also beer was served in chilled glasses (which generally you should avoid). Overall since experience is expensive you would expect a more polished presentation, so slightly disappointed, however thank you for the experience.
Always a great meal. Inventive, delicious, menu that changes 4 times per year.
My girlfriend and I were here for her birthday and the food was outstanding. This restaurant might be one of the best in the entire city
Fabulous dining experience! Our taste buds were on overload! Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu, ingredients and preparation of the dishes. Her description of each item made it an adventure worth waiting for. Even though the atmosphere is cozy casual, don't let that fool you for the exceptional culinary artistry you will experience!
Off the charts quality and taste. First visit and will it be the last.
Fantastic. Very visually pleasing. Excellent value compared to other restaurants.
Food was delicious, crafted with a lot of care. Presentation was magazine-worthy. But..... the plain surroundings, dark plain chairs, and cheap dark wall panelling gave the restaurant a cold feeling. I wanted to see some warm wood tones and perhaps carpet. It was not inviting in the least. I know this is a low-budget neighborhood evening venue, but I'll take my wife to something with great food and ambiance, sorry. :(
Always love this restaurant. Great food and great service no matter what the occasion.
We love that the menu changes with the seasons so it never feels like it gets old =)
We had a fantastic meal and will definitely be back
Food and service was excellent! Sea bass was fabulous
After tasting the food items Solstice had at Tatse of Edmonton, we knew we had to visit their location. I was disappointed that the risotto from Taste wasn’t on the menu but the rest of the food did not disappoint! We have a beef chuck appetizer to start. The poutine croquettes were DELISH!
Our main course menu was also very tasting. I was very happy with my venison. It was cooked to perfection with delicious sides.
The service was great. Our server was friendly with lots of knowledge on the food. We felt well taken care of. The only down side was the decor/ambiance that we didn’t feel represented the vibe of the menu and the dining experience. However we won’t let that stop us from devouring their entire menu! We will be back and we look forward to their next seasonal menu change.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We experienced new variations of combinations that were fresh, delish and beautifully presented. Nice nice portions. Friendly attentive service. All wonderful. We will definitely go back - this was our first visit through a gift card.
Went for a belated anniversary dinner. It was a great meal from start to finish. Service was excellent and provided the right amount of commentary.
Really enjoyed our recent dinner at Solstice. The service was excellent and the food extremely good and beautifully presented. I was a little disappointed in the wine list as I’m a Chardonnay lover and there wasn’t one on the list. Also the restaurant was on the noisy side which made conversation a little difficult, especially for someone with a hearing deficit. That said, I would definitely recommend Solstice and would probably return if visiting Edmonton again.
As always a fantastic place to go for great food and great atmosphere! We have been here a few times since they have opened and always a favourite of ours!
Normally this restaurant is excellent . But the new autumn needs some tweaking .Had the Pork chop which came with Brussels sprouts some of which were completely uncooked,my husband the lamb dish, there was not a lot lamb in the dish. It was an off night for the kitchen
Food took awhile to come out but was well worth the wait.
What a treat! My first time visiting this unique eatery and it won’t be my last. The detail exacted on every dish is a feast for the eyes first, then a feast for the palette.
We had a meat appetizer, the squash soup, a chicken dish, and salad that came with tiny edible flowers. A berry roll finished the meal.
Our waitress was attentive and quick. We also appreciated the description of each plate by the server.
Prices are on the high side, so make this a special treat.
Always amazing food and service. Super easy to miss from the street but such a great find!
Although the food was excellent the service was very slow. Our waitress was slow to take our food order and we didn't end up receiving our main course until 2 hours after we had ordered!
