Salmon and grits dish was delicious! It's one of my staples. Will get the fried oysters on the next visit though.
Fantastic venue for a birthday celebration.
I was great as always- ready for the scallops to return to the menu.
My go to place to eat in Columbia. Awesome for lunch as well as dinner. Quieter for lunch
Once again we were treated to a first class dining experience at Solstice. The bronzed trout was tasty and delicious, skillfully paired with polenta cake and succotash. The special Irish Stout short ribs and garlic mashed potatoes were a hearty St. Patty treat. The consistency and high culinary standards are remarkable at this Columbia gem.
Outstanding restaurant with great ambiance, food, service and quality!
Outstanding food and service as usual at our favorite neighborhood fine dining restaurant. Lamb shank entree was delicious...very tender and tasty .
Awesome as usual. Great food, ambience and service. Was a little chilly because the door was open
We had a fabulous time
Entire experience can be summed up to in one word...Great
My husband and I dine at Solstice Kitchen about 5 or 6 times a year. Each time we enjoy our meal and the atmosphere. We always look forward to our experience.
Shrimp and grits is over the top on lemon flavor. Dial back the lemon and it might be really good!
Great night out with family
Always great food
One of my favorite places to eat in the Columbia area. Always great food and service.
I enjoy fine dining and this is another occasion I would add to that list.
We waited roughly 15 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. The server was around but not hovering and very polite, which was great. The food was as good as expected and the price wasn’t as bad as we anticipated.
I have been to the restaurant several time over the years. I used to be consistently good but it really is a hit or miss kind of place based on my last 4 experiences. The last 3 times I have visited the vegetarian option were all Asian or Indian with similar ingredients. I ordered a fish dish during my last visit. The fish was cooked perfectly but was so salty I was difficult to eat. As a matter of face the last three meals I have had there were terribly salty. I have learned to order their sauces on the side as they add more salt in during the last visit the sauce was even too sweet with brown butter. For the price of the entrees there I just can not consider going back for a long while.
Always great food, service and atmosphere. My go to for a great meal on a date.
Food was outstanding. The service was the best in Columbia. Highly recommend!!!
Our server Brittany was amazing!
We were greeted immediately upon arriving at the restaurant and was allowed time at the bar to have a celebratory drink for my son's 29th birthday. John and his staff are absolutely wonderful and makes everyone feel extremely welcome!
Awesome food, great service, and an very nice atmosphere.
This was our first time and it was fantastic. The food was great. I would highly recommend
Very patient with elderly, forgetful person I brought for an occasion out
They do have an interesting enough menu, and a lovely wine selection. The food was very tasty. The server was pleasant, but totally overworked. We are usually pretty good about waiting when a restaurant is very busy. It is much easier to wait if you have a glass of wine and some bread on the table. Granted we were exhausted, so maybe we weren't our most patient selves, but it did take a LONG TIME to get our wine. All in all it was a nice meal. Oh I should mention that keep the A/C up very high. I was extremely chilly, even after moving tables to get away from a vent.
Food was amazing as always! It is our go to date night restaurant
We thought the food was good, and the ambiance was fine, nothing blazing about either, but certainly worth the money, and we'll go back. What was absolutely terrific was the service! We felt well taken care of by an entire team working together. Absolutely superior.
Food and service was great. Nice ambiance and great twist to comfort food.
I had the mixed greens salad and the pork Ossa Bucco. It was very well prepared and presented.
Bar- consistent. Blake is always professional
Can’t go wrong choosing this venue.
This is our second visit to Solstice Kitchen. We ate there in November of 2016 on a Southeast Vacation. We were in Columbia again and it was enjoyable enough the first time to have us go back a second time. We were not disappointed, and would definitely go back. Unique and creative menu, well executed.
We went here to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful experience! The server was very friendly and attentive. We had the fried oysters appetizer and they were warm and crunchy and melted in your mouth! We ordered two of the seafood specials. I had the swordfish special and it was very good. My husband had the red drum fish with shrimp etouffe on it and he said it was delicious! We also enjoyed our desserts . We will definitely return and will recommend it to friends!
Cocktails - Both Bartenders are very good. Good selection of Vodka. Can improve the Bourbon List and Wine List BUT still have more than adequate opportunities to try something new.
Appetizers- very good! Would prefer some health conscious items, but what they do serve is well seasoned, properly cooked, presented well and portioned appropriately.
Salads - nothing novel but great selection as far as salads go. Not over-dressed, nice flavor pairings, portioned appropriately and always fresh tasting
Entree’s - priced a bit higher but not egregious or burdensome for business meals or a night out. Here is where they excel. Always a great option on the specials menu to complement their usual dinner choices. I have had them all except the fried chicken (cannot do this at a fine dining establishment, personal choice). Well prepared, properly cooked and seasoned, comforting and reasonably presented (although this can be spruced up).
Overall one of the better restaurants I’ve been to in Columbia and I wouldn’t have reservations about stating one of the top 50 restaurants I’ve eaten at between the US and Europe.
One of the best restaurants I have been to in Columbia!
Good food. Nice ambiance. Great service. Would definitely visit again.
Good food, good service
Wonderful management and great service!
Food was really good and the service is great. The wine list is on the high side for a moderate bottle.
The swordfish entree was one of the best that I’ve ever had. Great Restaurant Week menu
Our meal was wonderful; however, I found our waitress a bit pretentious. She was attentive, but not as kind as our waitstaff usually are at Solstice.
It was restaurant week and it was packed. Atmosphere was loud, staff was rushed. The food was good. Only suggestion I can make is that ALL the staff should dress elegantly, not just the servers.
