I did not have a ver y good experience! The lady who was the "hostess" was anything but welcoming!! She was not in a good mood which is fine with me but she ought not to project her issues on the customer! The pasta was not al dente but more on the uncooked side, the sauce was good if a bit heavy on the oil. The waiter was good and did his job well. The long and the short of this is, as you might expect, I would never return to the place and I would never recommend it to any one! What I would recommend to the Owner, get a new hostess or send her for training!!
My fiancee and I came here for some good pasta, The menu was very limited in pasta and other entrees. We each ended up ordering a seafood dish, with mussels, clams, shrimp. The $30 entree also had mahi mahi, but the $34 did not[?], however, it had some thin pasta on the bottom in a kind of bland broth from the seafood, so after receiving the dish, I ordered red/marinara sauce on the side and extra Parmesan. (I had asked the waitress when ordering what kind of sauce was on the pasta, explaining I like a "red sauce," and she assured me that that was the sauce. But when it arrived, it was just the broth. She also never delivered the red sauce and the hostess checked on us at some point, who she ended up bringing it, along with some extra Parmesan). I looked up the online menu for the names of our dishes for this review, but they were not listed, and there were many pasta dishes on it that were not on the one-page menu from which we ordered. There must be a "daily" menu, because we would have ordered other items had we seen them available. You must order the bread if you want it, and it was brought before our meal. It was excellent!! We were hungry so ate most of it with our wine while waiting for dinner. We ordered more for our meal, because of course we needed it to soak up the seafood broth, but it never arrived.
On another visit, we ordered pork belly as our appetizer, there were two portions, one about triple the size of the other (which seemed like just a leftover part), so we had to try to split it up. Not a terrible thing, but didn't understand why we wouldn't get equal portions for two.
On a positive note, they have a good Happy Hour, and we enjoy chatting with Eli. We have had pizza here a couple of times and it was excellent. I also brought my sister here last year for her birthday with the $49 deal on Groupon and we had an excellent meal of appetizer/salad, entree and dessert.
We had a Living Social dinner for two deal and were there for our 48th wedding anniversary. The server was very pleasant, courteous, and informative. The cheese platter was outstanding. My wife's chicken marsala was great, and my fruiti de mare was wonderful. It had maybe 20 mussels and as many clams, topped by three shrimp. Half-price bottles of wine on Wednesdays is an added bonus. The restaurant is a bit of a drive for us but well worth it. We will return!!!
What a great meal. Trevor was so great. It was like having a friend helping you order. Everything came out just as we ordered. The mussels are so flavorful - ask for some bread to dip in the sauce...so tasty. But really, the food is great, but the service made it an experience. Thank you Trevor!
Got there about 5:15 on a Thursday and the place was pretty quiet. Had a concert to go to and needed a close place to eat. Never tried this place before. Sat immediately. Good service to start. But food took forever once we ordered. We even told them we were in a hurry. Good people. Good food. But they just need to step it up a bit. I guess this would be a good place to eat if you weren't in a hurry.
We purchased a deal for the restaurant to try it out. The experience was great.
Our server, Amanda was very good (and she turns out to be an artist with some of her works hanging in the restaurant). She was attentive, but not overbearing. We also were visited by two of the owners (Jackie and Jon).
We two meals ( and a seafood/pasta dish) that were excellent. The wine list is quite good with many selections from Italy.
Prices were reasonable for the quality.
We will be returning.
You can tell this small family owned, and by that everyone from the Dad, Mom, to all the sons play a part in running this place, really cares about there product and your experience. These folks truly know Italian dishes and they have some fantastic food. The only thing that outshines the delicious food is the amazing service, you can tell everyone there truly, truly loves their job and it comes through in their attitude and superior customer service.
Friendliness and service is top-notch. The food is spectacular...especially the pasta. The pork belly appetizer was excellently prepared and melt in your mouth good. Our server was upbeat, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave great suggestions. Go early before it gets crowded!
