Coming here is always a treat. The Wednesday night prix fixe was wonderful, orachietti cooked perfectly and the pork ragu worked very well with it. My husband's salmon, a newer concoction, was also terrific. We'll be back.
Very nice evening, was made even more special by a nice meal at a great little gem in downtown Bath. We've been to Solo Bistro in the past, and always had a good meal, however, this night everything seemed to click. Very good service, good wine and great choices for a festive occassion. The filet oscar was layered with an abundent amount of crabmeat. The only downer was that the filet was a bit more done on one end. The lobster risotto was chucked full of lobster, and done to perfection. The deserts were oh so good. The pain perdu was excellent. Definately will go back!
Our favorite spot in mid-coast Maine
Back again after finding this spot 10 days ago. The food is terrific. Raves around the table for the Halibut, Salmon, and Scallops.
As always, the food, service and ambiance at Solo Bistro were terrific, and the owner came over to greet and chat with us. One of our two most favorite restaurants in all of Maine. And, besides, we got a parking space almost directly in front.
Always creative and delicious food, prepared with fresh ingredients. You can feel safe ordering anything from the menu. When we have guests visit, we enjoy taking them to this little gem! Highly recommended.
Solo Bistro never seems to have an off night food-wise or service-wise. The menu choices are dependably delicious and the visit an overall good experience.
We had a good jazz set to go with dinner
All around good dining experience. Attentive, but not overly attentive, wait staff.
I'd eat here again even with an hour's drive. Friday night live music+++
Live music makes Solo Bistro dining even better. And the food and service were top notch.
We love this place, having been there several times. Marvelous, interesting cocktails an unexpected extra.
Delicious food, attentive staff, nice wine list, fun & unstuffy atmosphere.
Wonderful experience. It was our first time - friends recommended it to us - and we'll certainly be back.
Great gem of a place and very unexpected for the location. Lovely table and glass ware adds to the experience. Nice menu, great soup, crab cakes and hallibut. Dessert to die for. We had a leisurely evening with friends and all enjoyed it. Grotto space downstairs with bar is very cool.
This is the second time I have been toi Solo Bistro. As in my initial visit, thius was a memorable evening -- very good food, very good service and an overall fine dining experience. No hassles and no complaints!
As always, the food was delicious, and the service was attentive but not overly so. Surely the best restaurant in Bath.
Great menu, well prepared. Great service and ambience. But, most of all, we go for the Fri night jazz. We always o for the the annual performance by Liz Matta.
Consistently wonderful food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There's a new menu and always seasonal entrees as well as fresh and local foods. It's always a special treat and we'll be back.
The halibut entree was outstanding. It was perhaps even better than our previous all-time favourite halibut at a restaurant in St Johns, Newfoundland. Service was food but a bit slow as it was a very busy night.
Health cuisine with seasonally fresh produce. Creative approach to entrees , appetizers, and sides served in a scandinavian style space. Exceptionally pleasant experience for both taste and visual senses.
We had an excellent, knowledgeable server and a very nice meal. I would return.
We were travelling and decided to try this restaurant on our way home, so accepted the 5:30 vs. 8:00 reservation on Open Table. When we arrived the restaurant had 3 or 4 tables of diners. We were led to the worst table in the back corner of the second dining room. When we asked for one of the other tables for 2 in the room with other diners and preferably on a wall, a long survey of the computer followed and we were finally offered another table, which we accepted. Maybe a half hour later, a single woman came in with no reservation and was given the table we had requested and been refused right beside us. Restaurant not full when we left at 7:30.
We enjoyed our second visit to this wonderful place-too bad we were just visiting Maine;
wish we could visit more often.
We love the food, the atmosphere-professional, but not at all stuffy, and the service.
We have been to the Solo Bistro several times over the last 6 months. Most times the most inspiring sounding entry on the menu has been the special, but each time they are out by the time we order. How hard can it be to plan for enough of those special entries to serve? The seasonal sides that come with most entries are dull. Pleasant enough place, though. The best Bath has to offer.
Big city quality and sophstication in a small town main street setting - all in lovely, delicious and worth it. Would clearly go back when next in Bath.
Fantastic food and relaxed, friendly ambience made for a delightful evening. Farm-fresh ingredients, imaginative menu and very good wine list (along with an interesting selection of mixed drinks) - could not recommend more highly.
my husband and i have been visiting solo bistro for a few years now.
we live approx. 50 minutes away and it is always worth the trip.
solo bistro is one of our special occasion restaurants.
we love solo bistro!
best spot in Bath. pleasant evening. moderately imaginative food. good service. better all around is Clementine in nearby Brunswick
Solo Bistro's contemporary decor, accomodating staff, and creative cuisine is the upscale dining choice in Bath, Maine.
So happy we found this wonderful restaurant in Bath. Love the decor and food. We ate downstairs which is also fun but was noisy due to two large parties next to us. We will definitely go back but I'll ask if we can sit upstairs next time.
Went to Solo Bistro at the recommendation of our B&B owner (we were staying in nearby Wiscasset) - SO worth the drive to Bath. Outstanding food and service, and the live jazz on Friday night was great. Would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone in the area. What a gem!
Music in back room too loud while dining!
The food very good. It look as good as it tasted.
Unusual, colorful restaurant with the kitchen open in the rear. The food was very good, the service was outstanding, but it's not a romantic, linger-over-dinner place. The wine bar in the basement was very busy, but didn't go down to look at it. The restaurant is small with seven or eight tables with bright Scandinavian style chairs. It was busy on a Wednesday evening, and full when we left. The menu was short but varied. It was a bit noisy, but enjoyable.
We had a pleasant though not outstanding experience at Solo Bistro. Would certainly keep it on our go-to list. We liked the Scandinavian influence in the decor. Personally, I thought there was almost too much food.
Superb service and food with a well selected and priced wine list.
Good local oysters, good crab cakes, pleasant Spanish white wine. Small portions. Not cheap. Quiet when we arrived around 6 but got noisier by 7.
best restaurant food we've had in a very long time. by far the best fish cake! we had the prix fixe (fish cake, salad and dessert) -- absolutely delicious and also the scallops brochette. Everything was cooked perfectly with the most wonderful flavors -- not overpowering. i was also impressed with the calmness of the cooks who were visibly preparing the food at the back of the main dining room. it was quite wonderful to watch them - so capable and well, i guess just pleasant to watch! what a discovery! we will spread the word!
Excellent neighborhood experience. Overall great space, interesting cocktails, and tasty menu
Truly first class dining in historic Bath. Love the clean menu and the fact that they use local farms for their delicious cuisine
Interesting menu, good to great food, awesome service!
