Sole Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We were greeted promptly and escorted to our table. We were there for lunch but ordered off the brunch menu as it was on Saturday. The breakfast pizza was delicious and the eggs Bennie were fabulous. The banana bread and mini lemon muffins which were served with blueberry jam were a wonderful change to bread. The interior design is warm and appealing with the exposed wooden beams and original concrete walls. A great dining experience for brunch and we are planning a return visit for dinner!
The atmosphere, although the restaurant was very busy, perfect! The music was in the ‘background’ ...was perfect! Not overpowering, not annoying.
Our waiter was excellent and very professional. My second experience over two weeks.
Soup, 4 out of ten (really hasn’t been good last four visits) so much more potential there and I believe a lack of effort for this appetizer.
Main meal, Octoberfest Roladen needed to be replaced - could not cut through the meat with steak knife, ruined the flow/enjoyment of he meal but was replaced and great on second try.
Reservation worked out well however fathers Birthday notification on reservation was not at all acknowledged.
Always hope the soups will get better.
Great experience usually.
Still one of our favorites!
Was hoping for the best innovative Oktoberfest meal but it did fall short. Really hard brussel sprouts (you do have to boil them not just blanch them!), a tiny portion of veal and flavours that didn't really go together. The flatbread was ok and the dessert was the same, just ok. Shame as I was really looking forward to the whole 3 course menu.
We always have a great meal. The service was a bit slow but the place was packed. The drinks were on par and the dessert was great as always. I love coming and ordering off their seasonal menu. I've never had the same thing twice. Always a treat when we go for a nice meal out.
We were seated immediately and the service was good. The food, unfortunately, was just okay. Our group was 4 people and we all felt the same way about the food. Two people had the duck - were disappointed the skin had been removed and not crispy. It wasn't dry but didn't taste amazing. Another person had the shrimp pasta - it was watery and fairly bland. Another had the Oktoberfest special with the veal - apparently was good. The dessert it came with wasn't anything special, nor was the bacon flatbread appetizer. Overall, the service experience was good but we wouldn't go back because the food wasn't anything special. If the menu was redone, we might consider coming back.
The outdoor patio area is really nice. We had appetizers, mains and desserts and it was all excellent. One person with Gluten allergy in our party had many selections to choose from. The only disappointment was the Rosewood Pino Noir wine. Sole is not cheap but it's worth the price for special occasions.
My beef stroganoff was disappointing, the beef was tough and stringy, noodles hard to eat - hardly what I expected from a quality restaurant. My bill was reduced. My wife's ribs were not what was expected - a cube, not tender - should have been made clear. Fortunately our guests enjoyed their confit. Pleasant efficient server. Overall a disappointment.
Fabulous, as always. This time, we enjoyed a lunch on the patio. We told our server we had a time constraint and he was more than accommodating....without making us feel rushed. Cozy, quiet and sophisticated atmosphere. Solé never disappoints...highly recommended.
Our overall experience was very pleasant, and the service was very good. When choosing a restaurant like Sole, you expect to bring your wallet, and you expect a notable meal. Three of our party thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, but the fourth ordered a shrimp salad special which was an uninspired lettuce base with four shrimp arranged artfully at four corners on the plate. She enjoyed the bread served at the table very much, and the coffee was pretty good, but to say that she enjoyed a lovely lunch would certainly stretch it. Yes, we expect to be well served, and yes, we expect a hefty bill, but we still expect the food to be well worth the money.
This is a difficult review to write, because three out of four tends to be thought of as acceptable, but at a restaurant as charming and recommended as Sole, I think it would expect only four out of four.
Celebrated our 22nd Wedding Anniversary with a late-night romantic dinner on the beautifully landscaped and private patio listening to soft jazz and the tranquil sounds from the water feature next to our table. Presented with an impressive and extensive wine list. Both our meals were perfectly infused with flavour and excellently prepared. Our server was attentive yet not intrusive. We casually finished off our evening with a specialty coffee lounging on the patio under the stars and overhanging trumpet vines. Highly recommend.
Lovely atmosphere. The server and Chef were very accommodating with my food allergies.
My husband had scallops for an appetizer and said they were the best he had ever had. We both had mussels - very good! I had a pizza and was not overly impressed - the crust seemed store bought.
When I booked online was asked if a special occasion and I said it was our anniversary (41 years) but it was never acknowledged so not sure why the question.
I have been to Sole many times in the past but my husbands first time and he was very impressed with the architecture of the building.
A very disappointing dining experience. Normally I am delighted to dine here. Service was extremely slow. Our entrees took over an hour to be served. (plus other tables seated after us received their dinners before we did). Food was quite bland; not up to Solé's standard. Saving grace was the lovely patio area & delicious cocktails.
