Sole Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Have been a regular at Sole. Use to dine there at least twice a month. Last couple times have not been to par. So was giving another try. Again very disappointed, booked reservation a week ahead of Valentines Day because knew would be busy. Also was aware that there would be a special menu, not there regular menu. Let me say this, it will be awhile before I go back again. Messed up reservations, ask for a booth, was seated at a table. When I questioned they said I was right but the booth had been given to someone else. Waitress was not to attentive to needs, never came by once during the meal to ask if we wanted more drinks. The servings were very small and the vegetables consisted of one carrot, one broccoli and two beans. The menu for Valentines Day was just a take off of there regular menu but $20 more per serving. My advice to anyone thinking of trying Sole for a special occasion would be go somewhere else, there are plenty of other alternatives in the city.
I went with my fiance on Valentine's, that night there was a set menu in effect. Everything on it tasted delightful, the food was crafted to look impressive and taste fantastic. Kudos to the chef he/she did an amazing job. Our waitress was cheerful and attentive on such a busy night. The dessert was fantastic. The interior of the place is very warm and cozy. Go to Sole you won't be disappointed
Solé has consistently good food and service. I take people here who are new to Kitchener Waterloo and I am confident that we will enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price. we had a great lunch and the service was great and there is free parking which is a bonus nowadays.
Excellent in every way...food was unbelievable, our server (Josh) was so friendly and always appeared at just the right times. It was my birthday, they presented me with a creme brûlée that was out of this world. Can’t say enough about this place...oh yes, they play the most beautiful jazz.....love it.
The sauce around the scallops app was delicious ! If there were only a few more in the app size. Also even tho they didn’t have on dinner menu when I asked for they pistachio pear chicken salad they said no problem. Was happy about that.
There for brunch. Hard to get refills of coffee. Had lobster Benedict. Had some shell in it. Another guest had steak and eggs. Had asked for medium rare and it was definitely medium - barely any pink. Did not say anything as server did not return to our table for about 20 Minutes after serving meals. All food was very tasty though
The stuff is friendly, the service is a bit on a slow side, you kind of have to remind them to bring the next meal or coffee or the bill. That is maybe fine in the evening when you are off work but if you come for lunch I think they have to be a bit more attentive.
I have to say that we probably made a mistake with "the menu" as only the desert was really nice. The soup was cold, and the duck confit pizza was weird....the dough was strange.
I was there with my family for my birthday. We had a great time. Our server switched on us not sure why but the second server was great, she was kind, patient and attentive. I had the baked salmon, kudos to the chef, it was done perfectly, the flavours and the texture were just right. I will definitely be back.
Very cozy casual, but elegant restaurant with inviting atmosphere and service-focused staff. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted warmly and then enjoyed attentive service from the waitress. Food was beautifully prepared and presented with attention to detail. Flavours were savoury and delicious. We have been many times before and will return again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our food, especially your Caesar salad.. lol Don't ever change it. It was delicious. I'd come back just for it, as long as i knew it was going to be the very same. The wine prices could be slightly lower, but it is a thing to overcharge for wine in Ontario. Overall a great night...
We all found it pricey and were simply disappointed with the cost and the meals were very bland. We had to use salt And pepper for flavour. Water was not refilled and we were just disappointed overall. Too many other restaurants in area that are better. Waitress was pleasant but appeared to have too many customers.
Reserved a quiet table for a group of 7 for a business meeting. Sole delivered on that request by seating us in a room off of the main restaurant. Location was perfect and the staff were attentive at just the right level. Our guests selected a number of menu items and all were satisfied with their meal. The Duck confrit was excellent. Desert was only for a few members. Most memorable were the crepes.
We celebrated by wife's 50th birthday at Sole. Kelly was our server, ws very knowledgeable and attentive. Our daughter required gluten-free options, and did not disappointment. In fact, the gluten-free Penne Carbonara was the "best food I've ever had." What's not to like about double-smoked bacon!
With vaulted ceilings, the noise level is a little too high for my liking; however, what it lacks in noise level it makes up for with it's historical charm and significance.
The occasion was a "special" Birthday for our daughter. We decided to make it a family event and came from 2+ hours away to celebrate with both our daughters and their partners.
The service was extemporary. We were seated immediately, coats, etc. all looked after. Our waiter, Josh was very good. His timing on when to approach for the various stages of the meal was spot on - he neither rushed us or kept us waiting. That is hard to get right and he did it.
All 6 of us enjoyed everything we ate or drank. One of the party is trained as a chef and even he was happy with the whole experience - trust me that is the first time I have seen that happen.
Our only disappointment is that we live so far away and it will be difficult for us to come back. Keep up the good work!
Excellent meal, very well presented. Wait staff were excellent. Just enough attention without getting in the way of our discussions.
Food was delicious, great selection
Quiet enough to hear ourselves talk without needing to raise voices, as seems so common these days
