Solé Restaurant and Wine Bar is situated in a 150 year old Seagram’s building, minutes west of the Waterloo Uptown Core. The interior soars two stories high to a timber frame ceiling, exposed brick and generous wood finishes, set the tone for an elegant yet casual experience.

The menu will transport your palate to a bistro somewhere in Europe. Items ranging from fresh-baked pizzas, pastas, vegetarian entrées, steaks, and seafood will satisfy any appetite.     For our son's graduation from University. This is the only restaurant we know for such a special occasion in Waterloo, and it did not disappoint (again)! Service was excellent. We wanted to sit outside, but the evening air was cooling, .... so they brought us blankets (to supplement heaters). The food was excellent, wine choice support provided, and all in all, a wonderful evening.

    Took my wife there for our Anniversary Dinner last night - and it was the perfect experience! The service was quick and friendly, the food was excellent, and the patio was beautiful and in full bloom - I cant imagine a better place to celebrate. Thanks to Sage for the great service, and to the Kitchen staff for the special anniversary note with our Crème Brule!

    First I'll say, we always love our food when at Sole! Delicious! Also, our server was very friendly and welcoming. However, I was a server w/ Charcoal for over 8 years (& at 3 different restaurants) and we always made our guests feel special when celebrating an occasion. It was noted to our server we were celebrating a birthday, and a recent engagement was acknowledged as well, however nothing (even small) was done to celebrate. I don't think someone should ever expect free things, though it also didn't help that the birthday boy's main entree came out half way through the rest of the rest of everyone's meals. I'm just curious, why ask online if you're celebrating something, or have the server ask when seated if to go ignored? I think part of the reason I loved being a server with Charcoal Group specifically for so many years was that we DID make our guests feel special, so obviously I was a bit surprised my fiancé/b-day boy wasn't acknowledged in some way when I made that known. This could be a Sole thing (as I read other reviews, I see a similar theme) but then I think it's important to remember what sets Charcoal service/restaurants apart from many others.

    We had an excellent evening on the patio with a perfect temperature. The shrimp cheviche appetizer was wonderful. The staff was warm and friendly and looked after us very well.

    We had tenderloin fillets. It was best steak in a long time. Perfect char,spice, and med to med rare. Told the chef so too. Nice pile garlic mashed compared to some, and garden veg. Chiiled wine was excellent. Really enjoyed it. Scallop apertizer is really good but pricey and no ittle crust bread. Booths are a mjor improvement since last there. But it is s premium cost spot. Convenient for us as can walak there. Overall was excellent .

    Food wasn’t up to normal standards I had the soup and salad. Soup was ok but not great. Salad was not up to par. Mostly greens but not apple or other elements. Disappointing.
