We were 30 mins early, but they seated us right away. The waiter was very nice and attentive. We didn't get the bread, so had to ask but they brought it right away. The bread was very good, but wish it was little warmer. Main food was very good! I had a seafood pasta and had plenty seafood in it. I would go back for another ocasion for sure.
I think Louise was our servers name & she’s the best we ever had there. Hostess stand was oblivious we were never welcomed because they focused on a couple with a future reservation request, even had the head chef out there. Our friends were already seated & ended up coming over to get us because we were standing there so long. The food is usually better than last night, I think it was an off night.
Went to Sole Mio on New Year's Eve. The food was really good. Our daughter has Celiac so having gluten free options was big! It was busy but not overwhelmingly busy and we did not feel rushed at all. The Chef even came out to see how our meal was and to thank us. Classy!
Our wait person evidently came to work sick. She was having trouble hearing because of congestion. She was very good about checking for dairy ingredients when I made her aware of my allergy. I ordered the linguini with the shrimp added. It came without the shrimp. When I reminded her, she apologized, took my plate away, and then came and brought it back. As a consequence, my food was cold by the time the shrimp arrived. To top it off, I was charged for the shrimp. Most places would have comped my meal. This was New Years Eve dinner for my husband and I. Disappointing. Would definitely think twice before eating there again.
I would have given Sole Mio 5 stars, but we were pretty turned off by our server that night. She was a little rude and pushy. She seemed upset that my wife did not want to order alcohol and was really trying to push the specials of the night even though we said we were not interested. When we wanted refills on our water we had to track down a different server or the hostess, since our waitress was nowhere to be found. That being said, the food was fantastic and the chef hand delivered our food and was great to talk to (he even got my wife a refill on her coke, since we could not again find our waitress). We will definitely go again, but if we have the same server, we will kindly ask to be seated in a different section.
We went to this restaurant because we were going to be in the area and read some good reviews. We arrived a few minutes earlier than our reservation and was able to get in right away. The place reminded me of a diner. Bright lights and employees rushing by looking like they were busy. The place was busy, but not overly and the hostess said that people were leaving sooner than they expected. When we sat down, we were greeted by our server who was nice enough, but not overly- didn't really smile much. She asked if we would like something to drink and did recommend a wine by the glass which turned out to be ok - good table wine. We passed on the bread and an appetizer and just ordered salads with our dinner. Our dinner came pretty quickly and before our salads came. We made a comment to each other that we didn't get our salads before our dinner came and that we were not going to want them. The server then came over with our salads and we were already eating our dinner. We said that they should have come before the dinner and that we were no longer going to eat them. She stood at our table holding the salads like she didn't know what to do, then asked us if we wanted them boxed up to bring home. I asked her if my salad was already dressed and she said yes. I said that it would be soggy if I brought it home and told her I didn't want it. She looked again like she didn't know what to do and just stood there, but then asked my husband if he wanted his boxed up. We felt bad and just said yes, I guess you can box it up. We shouldn't have because in the end we paid for a salad that we didn't eat later.
Would not go back and would not recommend.
I love locally owned restaurants. This restaurant is clean, not too noisy. The food is outstanding pluse the wait staff are friendly an efficient. The owner/chef is often out on the floor talking to customers. During the summer, there is a cute little patio available also.
So glad I discovered this hidden gem! I went here with my daughter and a friend. They were generous in their wine tastings so each of us could find the right one. Server Herman was very friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious! We will definitely be returning.
My wife and I are regulars at Sole Mio, and we frequently bring out-of-town guests, as we did this past weekend. The food is of high quality and authentic Italian (after all, Mr. and Mrs. Montes, the owners, are authentic Italians). The prices are good, the service prompt, and the restaurant and bar are neat, clean and attractive. The added bonus is that Chef Angelo Montes roams throughout the restaurant to check on the diners to make sure that everyone is happy with their meals. That's a nice touch. I highly recommend Sole Mio! As they say in Italy, si mangia bene qui!
The food was mediocre and over priced. I was expecting good or at least decent Italian, but was disappointed. There wasn't anything special or tasty about it. The restaurant was decorated okay. Every staff person was friendly. Our server was very accommodating. I wouldn't go back or recommend it. I hate writing these kinds of reviews, but if we don't write a truthful one or worse yet don't write one at all, the ratings are meaningless.
Five stars! The customer service alone is a reason to visit. Best we've seen in a long, long time. We happened upon this place via Open Table reviews, and are glad we tried it out. The owner herself greeted us, introduced herself and aske us our names. The staff was also extremely professional, unbelievably positive, and you could really tell it's a very happy place to work (and dine.)
The food was great as well. I'm a sucker for sausage with fennel, and had the sausage pizza, which was very good. My husband had a fettuccini with shrimp and said he'd definitely order it again.
They were breaking down the brunch line when we arrived, and it looked like something we will definitely want to try soon.
Went there for the first time for my Mother's birthday. Nice greeting and seating, Benjamin our server was attentive, fun, and overall excellent. Chef came out in full bravado and was entertaining and helpful. When Benjamin came to offer dessert, we were all full, but I mentioned that it was my Mother's birthday and he offered her a birthday dessert. She was full, and we left it up to him to pick and he presented a tiramisu to go which she said was excellent.
For a non chain experience, I would highly recommend this restaurant. The chef/owner works hard and it shows.
