Went here for a birthday. I had the smallest brunch I’ve ever seen. Servings were too small for the price. I have been to several comparable restaurants in SF for brunch and the food is way better here than there considering it’s usually farm to table in Calistoga/Napa area. This was highly rated on Open Table and Yelp but unfortunately didn’t live up to the hype. I had lemon ricotta pancakes, Brannan breakfast and the donut holes. Everything was subpar except the donut holes which was just average.
I cannot say how lovely it is to have casual lunch or a more formal dinner at SolBar.
The food is always amazing and the wait staff is thoroughly knowledgeable about the wine and menu. My guest were from out of town and were totally impressed with everyone and everything. It has become my go to place for lunch and dinner. They even remember overtime I go that I allergic to freely ground black pepper.
Fresh food with expert preparation! Perfectly cooked salmon on top of Harisssa cauliflower ,couscous etc. Fish tacos, wonderful beautiful fresh fish with an amazing sauce and a small amount of perfectly flavored coleslaw . Some of the most flavorful fish tacos I’ve ever had.
Ambience is perfect for the wine country. Everything looks fabulous just go !
This was my 4th time at SolBar and it's still as wonderful as ever. I usually get the marvelous fish tacos and this time we also split the Ahi Tuna sliders. They were wonderful with fresh tuna, homemade buns & more.
Wine pours could have been a bit more generous however. But still a really good restaurant!
Outstanding food and service make this pricey destination worth the drive for locals like us. The drive up scenic Silverado Trail on a beautiful September afternoon culminated in lunch on the patio starring the best fish tacos, crab cakes and salmon prepared and presented very creatively. Our server was attentive and personalized our experience. Wine list loaded with excellent local wines. The indoor decor is striking also - a lure for our next visit.
This was my 4th visit to Solbar & Solage and it was excellent as always. My daughter and I had dinner to celebrate her taking the MCAT and my starting a great new job. I love dining outdoors and loved the fact that they brought us blankets to keep warm as the night air became cooler.
Honestly, Solage is my favorite place to visit and pleasant escape from the hustle and bustle of NYC.
The food was incredible and the service was great. For food, we had the spicy shrimp lettuce wraps, the crab cakes, the nicoise salad, and the burger. We all enjoyed the meal - though the shrimp wraps and the burger probably took first prize.
Solbar went out of their way to make our experience as positive as possible. Our table was not ready when we arrived at our reservation time, and we had to wait 10 minutes. We were already pressed for time, so this created some annoyance for us. We made this clear to the Solbar staff, and they rushed our order to make sure we were not further delayed. This was hugely appreciated, and we were able to make it to our next appointment on time!
We enjoy dining at Solbar whenever we are in the area. Brunch was delicious although the optional poached eggs on the California breakfast of crab and avocado on english muffin could have been cooked a touch longer as the whites were not cooked through and they were under temperature when served.
I found the restaurant nicely decorated, friendly personnel, wonderful meal and good selection of wine.
The wine by glass I choose was fantastic.
I went as well, on Monday Sep the 4th as part of the balloon group for breakfast which complete my good impression.
Not really a Michelin star meal.
Choices were run of the mill. We had the tasting menu. My main was the halibut and my mom's was the duck breast. Both were way too salty. The duck breast was beyond edible because of the salt. Told the waitress and she apologized. Not her fault. I wanted to like the restaurant. We did have breakfast and lunch there, which was delicious.
The ambience is warm nite under the stars with upscale dining. The chef is brilliant absolutely . We know that he is great at pasta but the risotto was the world's best : the seafood was fresh and exciting . Each dish is seductive and something to rave about . We love the service as well .
