Californian
Solbar, our casual yet sophisticated restaurant, is part of Solage Calistoga, Napa Valley’s most innovative resort and spa. Relax in the bar with a custom cocktail and a panoramic view of the Palisades Mountains or sit on the patio to enjoy a local wine and take in the scene at our 130-foot swimming pool.

In the Solbar kitchen, we are pleased to offer you a choice of lighter dishes to enjoy guilt-free as well as more decadent ones in which you can truly indulge. We go to great lengths to involve local producers whenever possible and to let the California seasons dictate our menu.

Best restaurant I went to in Napa. Food and service was amazing. The only issue was the drinks were too sweet.

We have eaten here several times. The food and the service are always very good. I like how the menu is organized into lighter and heavier options.

Fresh, unique inspired food options. Serving the taste of southern cuisine - with its fried green tomatoes as well as Italian palates with creative bruschetta. And the drink scene. Amazing!

Wonderful remodel of formerly austere space, now softened with banquets and gray palettes. Food was uniformly excellent, amazing truffled tagliatelle, delicious desserts. Service a bit too self-conscious, but pleasant and efficient. Tops in the Valley!

We thoroughly enjoyed both the breakfast and dinner at Solbar. The food and service were outstanding. Especially notable was the avocado toast, lemon ricotta pancakes and the lobster risotto.

We went to Solbar to celebrate a birthday. We were so happy with everything that we can’t wait to return. Special orders were enthusiastically accommodated and suggestions were spot on! The food was delicious and prepared with great care. 5 stars.

I invited friends to lunch with me at Solbar recently. We have all dined there previously and observed that there is consistency in fine food and service. Fish tacos, burgers both wagyu and impossible all exceeded expectations. As usual, outstanding service!

Sorry, the first time my wife and I where there the service was great. This time the bartender was our server. The bartender was more than 100' away and was very busy. All of the mangers basically said that they dropped the ball. So I guessed they took off the corkage on my bill for my trouble. THANKS GUYS! There was allots of mangers, servers and other employees running around and no one could see that my wife and I were done with our first course. When a manger did come on by and asked how the service was I let them know it’s not good! I don’t know why the bartender was my server when other tables around me had a server for there table?

Perfect patio brunch. We love Solbar for any special occasion, early Mother’s Day this time. Beautiful outdoor setting, terrific food and very professional friendly staff. Go early to be sure of patio space. Short drive from Sonoma County.

There are unfortunatley rare occasions anymore where perfection and unforgettable memories are created. My Napa Valley "Birthday" trip was crowned with the most impeccable royalty experience and exquisitely crafter food at Solbar. Our server Laura was tenured, passionate and genuinely interested in who we were and why we chose Solage Calistoga. Several visit stops by the sommelier (Joe), chef (Gustavo) and manager (Shawn) heightened our meal and made us feel unbelievably welcome. I highly recommend a visit to this quaint iconic neighborhood tucked away up North.

The setting is terrific but very noisy. The service was very professional and prompt. The salad was very fresh and tasty but the duck sliced in a way that made separating meat from fat very difficult that took away the pleasure of the meal. Not worth the price.

This is a great spot with friendly helpful excellent service. The place is welcoming . The menu has changed so it is not as delicious as past visits . The bar menu is a possibility even in the restaurant which is a savior.. Pasta was good / salad ok / not big on vegetables.. could benefit from a side of vegetables . Would be a relief to have a chicken option also a pork option . The lamb confit should be avoided as well as tuna with sweetbreads . Formerly there were many seafood delights perhaps they will resurface. Seems chef is being inventive in a strange non delicious manner imposing on the diner. The fish tacos / pork buns and burger on the bar menu can also entice you in the dining room and are excellent

Some of the worst service weve had in Napa Valley. Server running around. Server leaving us unattended for long periods. Didnt take order for almost an hr. Bartender made ulsubpar drinks. Twice. Sommelier inspired no confidence at all...didn't even seem to know the Napa chardonnay we brought with us. Food was good but nothing stood out. Portion sizes were tiny--and we dine often in Europe. No wonder they lost their star. Very underwhelming.

We love to go here, came later in afternoon so felt a little rushed (kitchen closing in 5 min type of thing), but then had to wait for drinks to show up. :/ Regardless, very nice place, super patio, good food - not cheap but consistent. Staff does nice job and you feel like you're on vacation, even if just a local.

Fantastic food. Poached Hailbut was to die for. Crab toast app was fantastic. Drinks were delish - elephant memory and rose crush. Corn soup extra was delightful. Sara did a great job. We were outside and it was gorgeous in the shade by the fountain. Only oddity was being next to the swim pool - people eat with their dog or in swimwear, etc.

Delicious drinks on beautiful patio.
Garlic soup and lobster gnocchi were incredible appetizers.
Halibut was perfect - delicate but complex and rich.
Duck was a little underwhelming as the breast was more soggy than crispy but otherwise perfectly cooked. Slides with the duck didn’t pair as well with other dishes but still great dish.

Easter Brunch- Excellent food and lovely patio outdoor dining. Wonderful wine selection and creative cocktails that were delicious. Our only feedback for improvement is to please let guests know that the menu for Easter Brunch suddenly becomes unavailable at 3 p.m. We had a 2:15 reservation and once we placed our initial food order we wanted to continue ordering more items off the menu. We were only told it was unavailable once it was too late and they had switched to the bar menu only. Somewhat of a let down due to the fact that it was Easter holiday and we wanted the original menu that we were seated with. Our server was good but in a huge rush and forgot to mention the menu change. Aubert Chardonnay came out at room temperature so we had to wait on that as well. Still highly recommend.

Service at this establishment is surprisingly spotty given the Auberge standard. We checked in early for a 6:30 pm reservation. Watched the maitre 'd collect several other parties from the bar to seat them but we were never approached. When we finally returned to his podium, our party of 3 was seated at a 2-top, placing one of us in busy cramped pathway while subsequent parties of 2 were seated in more appropriate and roomier spaces on the perimeter. Our server was pleasant but anxious. As the dining room rapidly filled up it became apparent that the seating pace was too fast for the servers to handle. There was a long wait between the first and second courses. Our server actually told us in response to a request for more wine, 'give me 30 seconds' as she bustled away. As I glanced around, i noticed that no one else had any food in front of then either., and there were a couple of tables noticeably complaining. When the entrees finally came, my $35 pasta dish had been sitting too long. It was congealed and room temperature. My companions' fish dishes were warm and cooked well. The appetizers were also inconsistent - e.g., perfectly cooked lobster gnocchi served alongside a dead, improperly dressed citrus avocado salad. We decided against desert, fearing another long delay amidst an atmosphere of unhappy diners. A disappointment.

Family friendly resort. Was was seated next to a group with 3 boys. They did not respect our space very well. Food was tasty but nothing special. Open environment and close to the pool. $110 for 2 salads, 2 entrees and a glass of wine.
