Would NOT recommend to friends who have concerns with dining near pets. Outside seating was too pet friendly and, with many pets in eating area, does not lend to a SAFE and CLEAN eating environment. For example, dander was all over lounge chairs.
When the weather is nice there’s no better place to sit outside and have a great meal.
This restaurant was a bit too pretentious for me. I do not really like a menu that uses too many words no normal person understands, or adds that one weird ingredient to every dish.
Everything was wonderful! Service is great. I will be eating here every time I come back into town!
Very nice and friedly service. The food and wine was excellent. A really cozy and great Palace.
disappointed with the new menu and the service seems to have fallen off. This has been a local go to restaurant for us, it may not be any more.
Beautiful spot, professional service, varied and seasonal menu
The Chesterfield cocktail started things off quite well- followed by the Yellowfin Tuna sliders and the Double Wagyu burger. I was blown away at how good this food was, and the outdoor dining was incredible. I will definitely get back to this place on my next visit!
Our favorite place in Napa. Drive out of our way to go there. It was raining and with a dog we needed to sit outside. Wonderful host seated us under the outside awning. Waited 10 minutes for service from what seemed to be the bartender. He wasn’t aware that the impossible burger was on the menu. One of us ordered tuna sliders (wonderful!) and the other salmon. Food arrived, salmon was half raw and server nowhere to be found. Ate half and left feeling that server should have explained that kitchen cooked it rare and would we like more done. Missed the option of the paillard salad. May hesitate on next visit.
Wonderful food, ambiance, and service
We thoroughly enjoy brunch and lunch here. Only negative is the creamer metal pourers. Please consider purchasing ones that don’t make such a huge mess.
We here for Easter Brunch with the family all of us had a great time. My daughter liked the Chia pudding so much she got a recipe to make it at home. We will all be back for more.
My friends bday. Our server brought a surprise dessert. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating
The food and ambience were great. I'm a local and have dined at Solbar a number of times. The food was good and, usually, the service is pretty good. For this visit, however, it was very uneven and with one incident that still bothers me. One of the staff, in delivering juices to our table, knocked over an entire glass of grapefruit juice on the table and all over my purse sitting on the chair next to me. Some splashed on me as well. I was very surprised that, while I was given an apology, there was no consideration on our bill for that mess. Comp'ing at least the lost glass of juice would have been a minimal gesture toward making that situation right. But there was no consideration at all. Very surprised at that level of cluelessness at such a high-end restaurant/resort.
Birthday lunch with friends was excellent. Salads and entrees were exceptional. Service was great. And the complimentary champagne and dessert for the birthday girl were pleasant surprises.
Great overall and have been there many times. Bartender, Jonathan, was very attentive.
We tried lunch and dinner times and the food is amazing .. just the best selection from appetizers to main dishes to deserts w great wine selection.. it’s serene place to escape for lunch and a get together for dinners!
Chef does outstanding job !!!!
Every visit to Calistoga should include a visit to SolBar. I love their brunch, especially the smoked salmon or french toast. The views outside are beautiful and the ambiance inside is relaxed and elegant. I can't wait to go back!
Two thumbs up.
We were there for brunch which we highly recommend. The ricotta pancakes are tops and all the egg dishes too. I love the quinoa bowl with an egg on top. It’s very healthy and delicious and can be shared. So many good choices and always a great place for special brunches, lunches or dinners.
One of the finest restaurants in the wine country.
I'd like to take a moment to thank the entire staff at Solbar. This evenings dinner was the perfect way to start my birthday celebration! Our server, Bridgette, is beyond amazing like a shooting star. Michael and the FOH staff is very lucky to have a captain like Bridgette on their team. Scott and the beverage team; the house made mocktails and wine selection were delicious. #beetiful #beetlicious Chef Massimo and his army of talented cooks and pastry; I can not thank you enough for the most flavorful and cooked to perfection dinner. It's by fair one of my top 5 dining experience.
Excellent except our table was near the center door and was cold.
So I must say that the change in the chef and menu was not so great for me, personally. I had the risotto with shrimp as a main, and the server
said that he would add shrimp. The shrimp were really tiny and a bit overcooked. Nothing special about the risotto, it was very salty for me, and I
My husband had the pork chop which he described as dry and tasteless. Our friends had the octopus and liked it, as well as the poke bowl. I tasted a bite
of the poke and it had great flavors.
A couple of nights before we sat a the bar and had the fish tacos which have always been good and didn't disappoint. The Burrata cheese with the pickled tumeric and artichokes was delicious as well.
The wine list is good, and our server was excellent!! I can't remember his name but he was outstanding.
I miss the Lucky Pig on the menu and hope that this new chef does some more basic yet yummy comfort items. I hope this chef doesn't sway to the 'too fussy'
type food and can keep it tasty and fancy all at the same time.
We dined here for my daughters 21st birthday. The staff was friendly and the food fresh and Devine.
This place was great. Beautiful interior to great tasting food. The service was great as well. I went there for breakfast, would love to go there for dinner one of these days.
Third or forth time here, never disappoints. Good food and great service.
Menu is laid out to make you think there are some healthier options so we took a shot at some fish tacos only to find out the fish taco is deep fried. In what world is something a healthier option if it’s fried in fat.
If I could give SolBar a 6 out of 5 I would! The food is superb and they are the best I have seen at accommodating diners' food allergies/preferences. The service is just superb - esp Bridget and Alejandro. You come to a restaurant the first time for the food and after that for the hospitality. Can't wait to go back!
Fantastic food and service. Truly a remarkable meal, all around.
Wonderful service all the way around! Food was really lovely and not astronomically priced. Even better yet...they do not overprice their wines!!! We had a wonderful meal as always and can’t wait to return.
An initial hiccup was ameliorated by free dessert. Otherwise, we had a fabulous time. Would travel for the view, food and spa again!
Celebrating a new job position and date
The food was excellent. The wine recommended by our server was quite good. Figure on spending more than you would for a typical dinner (unless you're rolling in money).
Gets better with each visit
The food was really nothing special. My friend’s pork chop was over cooked. The butterscotch pudding hardly tasted of butterscotch. The scallops were over cooked and the spice was unusual but not tasty. The service was pretentious and overbearing. I don’t understand the Michelin rating. Breakfast, on the other hand, was outstanding
The food here is excellent and the cocktails are so beautiful! We were blown away by this restaurant and I can't wait to go back!
We have been to Solbar on numerous occasions. This most recent visit was sub optimal. Service was slow, I asked for bread when we sat down and it took 15 minutes to bring out dry toast. Neither my daughter nor I really liked our meals. Hers was particularly spicy and my salmon was just plain and bland. Ambiance is great and we normally enjoy sitting outside but that was not practical since it started to rain upon our arrival
Inventive lunch fare, incredibly friendly and efficient wait staff, and one of Napa's loveliest settings. Nice menu choices between light and less light- cleverly listed accordingly. Patio setting is lovely, filtered light, lots of shade options, and the dining room is very spacious and comfy/stylish.
