Enjoy lunch, dinner or even Sunday brunch in the comfortable dining room or outdoor patio.
With a menu that features dishes like gazpacho, white bean and arugula salad and Thai Salmon, it is no wonder Solano's Bistro was a Diner's Choice award winner. Solano's Bistro in Old Town La Quinta Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I visited Solano's to celebrate a birthday. We sat inside and were served by a very friendly and professional waiter. He explained the specials and answered general questions. We started the meal with a side order of Ceasar salad, a nice crispy lettuce with cheese etc. Our main course dishes arrived after a little delay but were both excellent. Both fish dishes were nicely prepared and tasted great. We had a very nice bottle of Russian River Chardonnay with the meal.
The restaurant patio was busy as usual but the main dining room where we had a nice window table was only moderately busy with diners.
We plan to return on another visit to the attractive town of La Quinta.
I can't review the food at this restaurant because we never were waited on. After 20 minutes of looking at the menu and having the free water and rolls (which were kind of stale), we left to have dinner at another restaurant. This restaurant needs to do better if it wants to stay in business. This was a failed experience.
We stopped in for a quick meal after an early movie on a slow night. I had read the menu online and knew what I wanted to order but was disappointed that the Veggie Plate was no longer available. The waiter told me they change the menu often. If this is true then they need to update the online website as well. Regardless our meal was tasty and service was prompt.
There are ample patio heaters for the cooler nights so we enjoyed our time in the patio as I had requested thru Open Table reservation.
We are in La Quinta from Chicago for 6 weeks and we made our second visit to Solano's. The first was excellent. We were with a friend and everyone was very pleased with the food and the service. My husband and our friend both had fish specials and loved them. I had the ravioli with sage and that too was great. Our waitress was helpful and checked on us often. The second visit was less impressive. We once again were on the patio, which was our choice, but our waiter was not very attentive. I had pasta and lobster which was bland. My husband again had fish and said it was good. We will definitely go back, and hope for an evening more like the first.
Solano's never disappoints. We had an intimate table for 2, but across the room was an extended table of 20. It can get a little loud when you have a group like that, but the staff is excellent on menu knowledge and customer service. They are all very friendly. The food has always been excellent for us. We highly recommend this wonderful restaurant in Old Town La Quinta.
We always make Solano's our last evening for dining when visiting from Chicago and tonight's meal was outstanding. We had the tortilla crusted sea bass and seared ahi and both entrees were excellent! The flourless chocolate cake was one of the best I've had and a surprise for my birthday. Added bonus was 1/2 price wine night!
Our party of six had the most wonderful meal at Solano's, we had everything from a fresh Seabass and risotto to Surf and Turf. Everything from the fresh salads to the entrees are delicious. The service at Solanos is top notch, very friendly and professional!
Solano's always delivers, their food is always fresh and delicious. Their food is presented beautifully by helpful friendly waiters. The seafood is cooked to perfection especially the sea bass. The vegetables and salads taste farm fresh and healthy. Solaris has a great bar with a great wine list and interesting cocktails. Great resturant all around for special occasions or just a great night out.
We've dined at Solano Bistro on each of our last 3 visits to La Quinta and have enjoyed each experience. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and attentive. We've enjoyed every dish we've tried. I especially enjoyed the divers scallops with scampi and the horseradish encrusted salmon.
Three of us arrived for a special celebration. It was really terrific, good was mouth watering good and beautifully presented. Service was impeccable and everyone went out of their way for us. We will be back again, again and again. thanks for a wonderful celebration
We took some friends here for their first time, what a treat. My husband & I both ordered the halibut special of the evening. It was moist, cooked to perfection with a delicious mango salsa. The restaurant was quiet as it was a Wednesday evening so perfect for conversation which is not always the case. We happened upon 1/2 price wine evening too, a happy foursome were we.
Greeted warmly by the Hostess and our server proved quite amiable. The artwork provided an aesthetically pleasing experience. The ingredients as advertised were of high quality. I order the Solano's Boneless Beef Short Ribs which proved to be tender and flavorful. Accompanied by very fresh vegetables. My guest went with the Special (Rib Eye). Portion adequate. All in all an 1st class experience.
First you notice the vibrant decor, attentive staff but they are stretched a little thin as it seems a lot of reservations come in at 7 pm. I liked the menu because it was a twist on an ordinary . New flavor combinations that are new and unique. The food was very good and the black-out cake will knock your socks off. I look forward to returning soon.
We are locals who've been going to Solano's since it first opened in that funky little spot on
Calle Estado. We loved it then and wondered if the qualities we enjoyed would continue in the larger Old Town La Quinta site. They pulled it off. Food remains excellent...the fish is always beautifully cooked, vegetables crisp and fresh, risotto melts in your mouth, meat cooked to your taste, not the chef's. It is still our favorite local spot. We are not gourmet foodies. We eat out only occasionally and would not be comfortable in a posh ultra-expensive place. We feel the price matches the quality very well at Solano's...good food, nice atmosphere, excellent service, reasonable prices, and it's in our home town!
