Solano's Bistro is known as "the neighborhood gem of La Quinta". Owner and chef Francisco "Paco" Solano uses fresh ingredients found in the Pacific Northwest and combines them with a unique Baja style flavor to create the unique dishes on the menu. The combination of a casual atmosphere and the delicious cuisine make Solano's Bistro popular with both tourists and residents of the desert. Enjoy lunch, dinner or even Sunday brunch in the comfortable dining room or outdoor patio.
With a menu that features dishes like gazpacho, white bean and arugula salad and Thai Salmon, it is no wonder Solano's Bistro was a Diner's Choice award winner. Daily specials like Wine Wednesday, which features bottles of wine at fifty percent off, are just another reason customers flock to Solano's Bistro.
My wife and I visited Solano's to celebrate a birthday. We sat inside and were served by a very friendly and professional waiter. He explained the specials and answered general questions. We started the meal with a side order of Ceasar salad, a nice crispy lettuce with cheese etc. Our main course dishes arrived after a little delay but were both excellent. Both fish dishes were nicely prepared and tasted great. We had a very nice bottle of Russian River Chardonnay with the meal.
The restaurant patio was busy as usual but the main dining room where we had a nice window table was only moderately busy with diners.
We plan to return on another visit to the attractive town of La Quinta.
Took Great friends here, sat outside, food & service were Outstanding.
Just one of those nights when everything clicked. Definitely heading back soon.
Love it !!
We absolutely love Solano's. The food is almost always excellent and the servers are attentive and try hard to please. I feel the food is very high quality and they profess organic when possible so I appreciate that. The brunch is excellent!
Seamless from making the reservation to our evening for our dinner with
visiting family… Totally recommend this neighbored gem !
Thank You Solano for being consistent, serving good food and your servers
make you feel like family.
They prepare all kinds of fish as well as any place I go here or in the Puget Sound area. And I am particular about fish.
Second time here, and we'll go back. We were six and the food came out hot and promptly. The outdoor area is just OK, but the service and food are worth the trouble to go there.
This is a great little place for a quiet evening dinner.
Always come back to this old town favourite as its never a disappointment
The food ambiance and setting is great
Our food was certainly adequate and the portions generous. The pork chop was cooked nicely but the broccolini was overcooked and wilted. I'd give the butter lettuce salad a pass if we were to return.
Great service, delicious fish and very enjoyable evening
Ate lunch had Thai Salmon, was fabulous.
Went back for dinner 2 nights later, had Ceasars Salad with Scallops, superb.
While the location of the restaurant was quaint, the food was mediocre at best and the service was lukewarm.
I can't review the food at this restaurant because we never were waited on. After 20 minutes of looking at the menu and having the free water and rolls (which were kind of stale), we left to have dinner at another restaurant. This restaurant needs to do better if it wants to stay in business. This was a failed experience.
We stopped in for a quick meal after an early movie on a slow night. I had read the menu online and knew what I wanted to order but was disappointed that the Veggie Plate was no longer available. The waiter told me they change the menu often. If this is true then they need to update the online website as well. Regardless our meal was tasty and service was prompt.
There are ample patio heaters for the cooler nights so we enjoyed our time in the patio as I had requested thru Open Table reservation.
We are in La Quinta from Chicago for 6 weeks and we made our second visit to Solano's. The first was excellent. We were with a friend and everyone was very pleased with the food and the service. My husband and our friend both had fish specials and loved them. I had the ravioli with sage and that too was great. Our waitress was helpful and checked on us often. The second visit was less impressive. We once again were on the patio, which was our choice, but our waiter was not very attentive. I had pasta and lobster which was bland. My husband again had fish and said it was good. We will definitely go back, and hope for an evening more like the first.
Solano's never disappoints. We had an intimate table for 2, but across the room was an extended table of 20. It can get a little loud when you have a group like that, but the staff is excellent on menu knowledge and customer service. They are all very friendly. The food has always been excellent for us. We highly recommend this wonderful restaurant in Old Town La Quinta.
Our favorite la Quinta restaurant in Old Town. Wonderful food, great service, reasonable prices.
We always make Solano's our last evening for dining when visiting from Chicago and tonight's meal was outstanding. We had the tortilla crusted sea bass and seared ahi and both entrees were excellent! The flourless chocolate cake was one of the best I've had and a surprise for my birthday. Added bonus was 1/2 price wine night!
Lovely place. Food was okay. Service was excellent. Beer selection is limited. Wine by the glass selection is extensive. Best part... Craft beer and organic ice cream places nearby to complete the afternoon or evening.
We love Solano's....but we're really disappointed to be seated in the bar that night. Not the year end ambiance we were looking for. Food great...service great....just not our next choice for New Years.
