We were surprised it was in a new location and disappointed that they had changed the menu. This had been the only place in Denver that we had been able to find okonomiyaki, and it was really good okonomiyaki. It is no longer on the menu, though they made it for us because we asked about it. I really hope they put it back on the menu. This is one thing that made Soko different than any other Korean barbecue/sushi restaurant
Too often get tired of trendy sushi places that don't "get it" and overwhelm in what they believe is ambiance and veer so far from any Japanese culture. This place is a gem and we will be back! Arigato!
This was our first time here, and we loved it! Kyrie was awesome, she was super friendly and was very attentive. The food was really good, everything tasted very fresh. We will definitely be back when we go down town!
Ask for Kyrie she is amazing! Fast, super friendly, and just flat out kind!
Great sushi yet service was slow. Once the crowds came in around 6 we were ignored. However since the sushi was delicious, I would recommend.
Our server was outstanding and made our night. I wish I could remember her name. So engaging and funny.
Fish quality was amazing but a somewhat limited menu, however I would take quality over quantity.
Only other note is the odd restroom situation. Not dirty or anything, just takes an elevator ride to the basement.
Our server was quirky and hilariously Asian. She wrote out our reservation sign but was freaked out that she dotted the "I" in my name with a heart and then my wife was my date. We assured her it was fine but it was quite hilarious
great sushi, loved the Diablo roll. And the only place in town we've found okonomiyaki, and it is really, really good okonomiyaki. We will definitely be back
Best sushi I've had in years!!
The sushi is amazing. The serive was awful. I loved the Lava roll. I would recommend you order that and don't expect drink refills.
Quick service. House Chardonnay Clos du Bois and house saki was good quality. Tempura platter, sashimi platter and sushi for two was fresh and very tasty. Excellent presentation. Will come back.
Enjoyed our dinner. We were a little apprehensive when we saw it was in the basement along the mall, but were pleasantly surprised. We ordered three rolls and while all were good, the Dynamite Roll was amazing and we'll return simply for another Dynamite roll!
A charming find for us. We loved the personal attention and delicious food. the lychee-tini drink reminded us of Hawaii. The avocado salad was unique and enjoyable. My only complaint is that some of the rolls were assembled a bit sloppily and fell apart in the chopsticks. We will be back, though, and highly recommend Soko.
The sushi was very fresh and nicely presented. The staff was attentive and friendly. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and the manager gave us a glass of complimentary champagne, which was a very nice gesture. We will definitely be going back!
Our waitress (whose name I didn't get) was spectacular. She was originally from Russia and was so dedicated to making our meal special. She had a way of making each of us feel special; was engaging and delightful; really so much better than the food or environment. Just go there to see her!
It was just okay. I like more of an ambience. I am also a food snob and expect bigger portions for price.
Soko was just outstanding! The combination of amazingly fresh fish, like the fatty salmon ceviche, and the delicious and inventive preparation by the sushi chef was delightful. Our server was extraordinary, attentive, and so very pleasant to work with. Soko is definitely a local gem in the convention center area!
I love it here! Very nice and polite staff! When I'm in town I done in here 80% of my entire stay!
Soko is one of our favorite restaurants. The sushi and the other food we had was beautifully prepared and graciously presented. We like to enjoy dinner here before an event at the Performing Arts Center and then walk the two blocks to the show.
Sushi was delicious and fresh but we made a reservation around 8 on a Saturday night and were told soon after we ordered our food that it was last call. We felt rushed to eat and get out before 9. I don't think there should be available reservations at that time if this is the case.
Great service! Great food! Will be back!
Great food, which was somewhat surprising given the mall-style location. I really enjoyed this place, and would definitely recommend it. I just didn't care for the ambiance.
This was my first visit to this restaurant. The food was excellent and plenty of it. My friends that joined me loved it too. Our waitress was friendly and addressed all our needs. Prices were reasonable. We are planning on returning soon!
I had a volcano roll and monkey brains, both were excellent. Their house white wine was also a pleasant surprise. Excellent quality and a fair price.
The food and service here were extremely good, so what else could you be looking for? Our only concern was that the restaurant calls itself a 'Sake Bar'. That indicated that there was going to be a great and extensive list of choices in this regard, and one of the reasons we chose the restaurant. Unfortunately, there were only three or four of those. That aside, the meal was very good, and the kimchee was tremendous!
Everything, from miso and salad to specially-prepared handrolls, was very prepared, fresh and served instantly. Very good service and food to match. Great location, easy to find in downtown Denver. Will definitely go back.
Good sushi and great deal for the lunch specials. Food is always fresh and delicious!
Mediocre to none, food is not good, too much mayo, not real fresh, not creative.
Solo was delicious. Unique sushi roll offerings, the best miso soup... out of this world food and service. Really loved it.
I was very reluctant to try sushi in Denver being from California. I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't the best sushi I have ever had, but it was fresh and of good quality. The staff was great, very friendly. The ambiance was nothing special.
The food and service was good. Quite place for a sushi bar. Everything was alacart. They had good appetizers.
If you are looking for really good sushi then this is your place. Every roll we got was very good. They had a nice twist on the average sushi menu. Nice saki menu too.
