Soif Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
2nd visit to soif.
Food was great.... great bavette especially. But my god, it was slow. Well over an hour before we got our mains after a couple of sharing starters and a Long wait.
Service was Luke warm to friendly (depending on who you got) and by the time we sat down at 9 already a few things were off the menu or down to their last couple of servings. Fine. Sign of a good kitchen sticking to its guns, you might say and not going silly on the choices.
As we were finishing up, waitress asked if everything had been ok. We responded yes but your service had been slower than a snail. (So slow in fact 3 of our party had had to leave before the mains were cleared as their babysitters were due for Home!) Waitress said rather pathetically “we’ll it is Saturday night. We’re busy.”
No S Sherlock!
And I’m sorry but claiming that the day of the week is why your diners are moaning doesn’t quite cut the Dijon. The response? Not a sorry. Not a ‘have a couple of coffees on us.’ Nothing. A real shame of an end. Makes me wonder if I’d go back.
Restaurant was packed, but sadly very hot too. Service was slow to start, portions fairly small for the price, and took a while to get wine (which after asking, found out was out of stock) It's great, very trendy, perhaps a little overpriced, and suffered from being too busy.
I booked a table here for my husband's 40th birthday. I had tried to book their sister restaurant that was closed for refurbishment. Because of this they gave us a free glass of wine on arrival. Such a nice gesture.
The service was impeccable and friendly. They know their menu and wine list!
The food was delicious and well cooked using native ingredients.
The wine is well selected and an inspiring list.
I would highly recommend Soif for an all round great dining experience.
Amazing food & service ! Geat wine selection & very knowledgable staff.....menu is small but I could've had everything as it all sounded amazing !
Everything was cooked to perfection & my steak was how I asked for it !
Would highly recommend & will certainly return.....
As always one of my favourites-- lovely food and a wine list. The staff are friendly without being over bearing and it's a great place to try new and interesting wines. Just put yourself in the hands of the staff and you can be sure you'll end up with something lovely.
Yet again very impressed with Soif, the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, the food is outstanding and authenticity French with a twist. The Wine List has the greatest selection of wines from the Loire Valley that I have seen since the heady days of RSJ's highly recommended the Saumur Champigny outstanding value! all in all a great restaurant that I shall return to again and again and again!
I've been wanting to try Soif for ages, so took the opportunity on a Monday night with a friend who was visiting from out of town. Nice surprise was that they do a selection of wine at takeaway prices on a Monday, so we had a superb bottle of French red for £20 as recommended by the very knowledgeable waiter. We went for small plates of food and had very tasty charcuterie and terrines, a beautifully flavoured crab salad and stunning pear and roquefort combination. Lovely place, lovely staff; will definitely go back.
Always love Soif and now realise they also have Terroirs and ToastED so there is more still to taste.
Loved the Folles Blanches outstanding house white and they always cook mussels comme il faut. Had a lovely long chat to the owner and the server and they clearly enjoy what they do.
The £20 two course ( £25 for three) is just the job.
