Soi4 Bangkok Eatery
…inspired, influenced, accented, and tinged; anything but ‘fusion’. We prefer to think of it as "Bangkok style” eatery.
Yes, I have recommended friends dine at Soi4! The food has been consistently good for years and the staff are delightful. This is a real neighborhood gem.
We come here a few times a year. The drinks were delicious, the appetizers were really good as were the main courses. We thought it was an exceptional dinner that night
Great meal, wonderful service
A nice time, we sat by the window and the waitress got to us pretty quickly and gave us great descriptions of items I wouldn’t have normally gone for. Took all her suggestions and was not disappointed at all! Drinks were not bad either.
We have been eating here for years and always enjoy a delicious meal with great service.
All of the dishes were delicious. It was a bit noisy annd cramped, but I would not hesitate to return.
My only complaint with this restaurant was that our server was slow to begin waiting on us. Once she greeted us she was very good and let me try a small pouring of a wine I was unsure about. The food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. I would go here again for sure!
The pear highball was delicious. Always enjoy the corn cake appetizer too. The entrees are delicious. I make it a point to get there in time for happy hour and enjoy dinner as well.
I love the Choo Chee Salmon, but last night I tried the beef and snow pea special. It was scrumptious! I keep going back - for the food, the service and the quiet friendly atmosphere.
Soi Four is our neighborhood Thai restaurant. The food is invariably fresh and deliciously flavored. Service is always good.
Very disappointing. I had eaten here once before and had liked it, but not this time. Appetizers and salad were ok, sea bass was horribly over cooked, dessert (some sort of pumpkin custard) was weird., drinks were weak.
Our server seemed completely clueless, an experience I’ve never had at Soi 4 before. She didn’t register our reservation and so I got texted by you that you thought I had arrived. She took forever to take our order and forever to serve the food, forgot about one order altogether for a while I guess. And then she waited endlessly to bring our check. Usually service there is quite prompt but this was unbelievable I think we were there for three hours which was fine because I was enjoying the company but much of the time I was sitting there hungry without anything in front of me. This is one of my go to restaurants, I always enjoy it, this was just a strangely unusual and bad experience.
Food was good but service was very slow.
Salmon was excellent! Recommend the grapefruit salad!
Excellent Thai food! We had the pad Thai, green curry & starters. All excellent!
They're not vegetarian friendly. All their vegetable dish is made with premade sauce that includes fish sauce. Portion size is also inconsistent.
Came here for Mother's Day dinner at 6pm. At that hour it was quiet and relaxing. The menu is very extensive, with many dishes you can't find anywhere else. The food was absolutely delicious! everything we ordered was top notch, and the food came out super quick ( early dinner might have something to do with that, but still very pleasing). The service was attentive and combined with the most delicious Thai food I've had in the East Bay, I would return in a heartbeat.
The service was exceptional! Very nice and attentive staff.
Some dishes were amazing and worth coming back for while some were just okay. The Tom yum soup was probably the best I’ve had in the area and the bowl portion is big enough to share for two. I’ll probably get the hot pot next time cause it’s so good. The catfish and pork belly was cooked very well but I’d say pork belly was overall better.
If you have room for desert the coconut ice cream is good! I got it with the pumpkin custard but I would recommend just getting the coconut ice cream.
We LOVE this food, have been there several times and will come again
We went for Dine Out For Life and it was really great! The food, the drinks, and the staff were all really enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!
Wonderful place, great food. The service is impeccable. Recommend!
Soi4 has been our favorite Thai restaurant in Oakland, but our recent visit was disappointing. Perhaps it was because we ordered different things than our usual, but the food seemed a bit too salty and otherwise not too flavorful. Server was pleasant but service was slow. We'll probably return, but we'll try some different Thai places too.
Always great! Will be back, again and again. It would be nicer if the food didn’t come out so quickly and we could have a more leisurely experience. Perhaps we should just ask for that, but from your point of view I guess the restaurant is so popular that you want to turn the tables quickly?
Amazing food. The service was above and beyond - attentive but not annoying. Best Thai restaurant around
I've always loved the food here. Often, if the restaurant is crowded, the downstairs area can be quite noisy.
On this evening, there was space around us so it was possible to have a good conversation over dinner.
This neighborhood restaurant is also good for special occasions. There is a large menu, not filled with the typical Thai standards, though a few are intermingled. Food is not too spicy when served but a trick is to ask for the condiments tray, and then you can spice it up to taste. The drinks are really good Samui is highly recommended.
We always have a good time at Soi 4 but some nights the kitchen is really spot on, others not so much. Only someone who dined there regularly would notice, though.
All the food was excellent except for the noodle rolls which were very bland. Dumplings were out of sight. I've gone to this restaurant many times and have not been disappointed.
We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Soi4 Bangkok Eatery. The Hostess was very cordial and welcoming and our Waitress was GREAT - very attentive yet sensitive to our conversation. The food was PHENOMENAL and the Chef gladly accommodated some special requests to slightly modify the dishes we ordered. For dessert, I highly recommend the fried bananas and coconut ice cream. Delicious! I'm looking forward to returning to this fabulous Thai restaurant and encourage everyone who loves Thai food to run (not walk) to this gem!
The food here is consistently good. We like the small plates especially the corn cakes, mussels, and the mustard leaf treats. For mains, I love the tamarind shrimp, and the noodle dishes. The tom yum soup is divine.
Excellent food, fast service, very pleasant experience overall!
Service and food excellent
Everything we ordered was fantastic. We will be back soon.
I was especially impressed that immediately when we walked in, the hostess picked up that one of our party is disabled and might have a hard time going upstairs where they had planned for us to sit. She quickly switched a downstairs large table to a 2 and a 4 (for us) and set the table for the large group upstairs.
As always, excellent food and service!
I Excellent food. Lots of choices. Excellent service. Very enjoyable
Loved the flavors at this place. Great service.
Have been going here for a long time ,generally food and service is good
The flavors are always a pleasant surprise, each selection brings a new combination and pairs well with any other dish on the menu. The wine menu could be a bit more robust; but what they have works with the menu and the price is right. full bar, smallish countertop to eat solo or with a friend, nice seating seating areas and they cater to both the date night and the family groups. the mussel starter is wonderful and so is the Monterey squid salad. all the curry dishes are authentic and packaged punch if you ask for spice. a delicious neighborhood gem that never dissapoints.
Not as good as previous visits, food and service was off
Food was unique! Really yummy appetizers and Happy Hour prices were a bonus!
