SOHO Asian Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
When my friends and I were seated at SOHO, it took 5 minutes for them to get us water, even though we asked the waiter 3 times. The food came out quick, but was far from fresh. Most of what we ordered tasted as if it was from the freezer or store bought. They opened the door halfway through our meal, and it immediately smelled like cigarettes. We asked our waiter if they could close the door, but he did not. We then asked the manager/owner to close the door because of the strong smell. His response was that we were wrong and that it doesn’t smell like cigarettes. We ordered dessert and were very unhappy. The pavlova tasted store bought. The meringue was disgusting and not homemade. We also ordered the waffles, which were hard. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
3 of went out for Father's Day dinner. SOHO was selected because of it's menu selections and it's location (travel distance from Hollywood). My son had a steak which he raved about. My friend had a burger which was satisfactory. I had the Szechuan beef which had great flavor but was over done. The waitress was pleasant but lacking in some regards. When she asked how our meals were and I told her, she should have offered to replace mine with another portion or a different item. Neither was done nor did a manager come over to offer anything (which she should have informed him immediately, in my opinion). With appetizers and mains, our bill was about $165 for 3 people, not cheap in my estimation. For this kind of pricing, I felt everything should have been 5 stars.
Everyone in our party enjoyed the food and experience. First we were put at a very small table even after having a reservation. But the manager came out and being a good businessman changed us to a larger table. The food was delicious and we enjoyed several different appetizers. Main courselarge portions and good. No room for dessert will have to try next time. We will be back!
I had the Kung fu Beef it was amazing, crunchy and delicious, the sauce was perfect. I also had the Sesame Chicken which was crunchy as well and was amazing to. This place is very clean and the Staff are very helpful. I enjoyed and would like to say probably the best Chinese food I ever had.
12 of us came to celebrate a birthday. Good service even though Soho was full. The "shrimp" roll was delicious and warm Steak Salad so good! Desserts at Soho are always delicious. Mojito's and Martini's very good according to other guests at our table.... I have celebrations at Soho for several years and we keep coming back.
The food was horrible...actually it was UNEDIBLE and even after we made a reservation it still took them 30 minutes to seat us. The waiter was very nice. That's about all that was good about our restaurant experience. The ambience was unbearable and SO LOUD. They seat you on top of one another. I don't recommend eating there. Save your time and money.
We have been to this restaurant several times and it was usually a good experience. This past New Year's eve it was a disaster. When we tried to order the waiter told us the kitchen had a problem for several days with their grill so no grilled food was available. We had to order from a subset of items. When the meals came the waiter had delivered the wrong dish to us. It took 15 minutes to get his attention to try and get it corrected. The waiter did not seem to care. The correct dish finally arrived 30 minutes later but had a foul odor to the meat.
The restaurant tried to compensate us by proving a 20% discount and a complimentary desert but the overall dining experience was totally unacceptable.
We had a great meal over the Chanukah period this year - everything was delicious and came out from the kitchen quite quickly even though the restaurant was very busy. Family visiting from England thought the lamb chops were the best they had ever had and were super impressed with the food. Deserts were a surprise hit too - the waffles with parev ice cream and pavolova were both delicious and rounded off a lovely meal.
I was a little surprised that an upscale resturant didn't put out a glass of water or a bread plate while waiting on the ordered food . the tip is automatically included in the price is another thing that I don't agree with although I probably would have tipped a bit more
