Sunday's Brunch: Live DJs
the spanish food was very good. its nice to go with family or with a date. summerbim sure is even better with the outside seating and the view.
It's been two years since I visited. Nice mature crowd. Brunch was great! Food tasty as always, drinks superb, DJ was dope!, he played something for everyone. I had a blast joining the conga line 😉
One suggestion, keep the hookah smokers away from the dining section. A little annoying to have smoke drifting in face/food. Let them smoke by the bar.
Will definitely be back sooner than later 😊
Music was just too loud
Came for dinner and drinks with a group of girlfriends for Halloween weekend. We had a great time! Recommend!
Had the BEST time at this spot and the food was amazing. The staff was very friendly the music was everything! Will be back again for sure!!!
Though the food, service and ambiance was great, the wait time to be seated was ridiculously long when I had a reservation. The “valet” parking was a rip off. They charge up front a fee of $15.00 for it then are soo unorganized that we had to ask twice for our vehicle to leave. No apologies from the supervisor and cockiness when I asked for a refund because the service was not given for what valet parking entails and that I waited 20 min for my car to be brought to me in the freezing rain and no one once came up to us to ask if we were waiting for our car. The supervisor then provoked me to call the cops if I wanted a refund. Very unprofessional on his part. So I did call them a filled a report. I hope he learned a lesson from my doing that. He should’ve never escalated the situation that way.
Sofrito needs to not deal with such incompetent people that have rude valet employees because it at the end of the day is a reflection on them as a business. If they were hired by Sofrito, then shame on them! They should use better judgment next time and get a supervisor that speaks not just Spanish as he claimed but English as well.
It’s safe to say that I won’t be using that “ VALET” parking ever again! P.S. $15.00 for valet is way overpriced!
The music was just a tad bit too loud that we couldn't hear the waitress (really nice short curly hair woman) at all or have a conversation with the people sitting across from us. We were screaming all night. It's possible that is the vibe they want. We did notice they didn't have as many people staying for the after party DJ. Pretty empty for a Saturday night. But we have a great time. The New Location is GORGEOUS!
Subnote: Whats up with the kiddie toilets? My leg muscles really had to work overtime.
It was girls night out and we had a lovely dinner at Sofrito’s.
I love this restaurant! The decor is nice, the service is good & the food is awesome! If you want to have a good dinner night out, try Sofritos!
The alcapurria and red sangria were both really good. The calamari and mojito were ok. The ambiance and dj was awesome. Great date night spot. After dinner we just hung out at the bar and smoked some hookah. Wish they had more hookah flavors. But overall the hookah was pretty good and lasted a really long time which was nice. I had a pleasant time and will probably go back here.
Food and service was amazing.
Great food & friendly staff, HOWEVER the restaurant needs to work on a better dining experience.
Went for my wife and I anniversary. Waited 30mins for a table with a reservation. When we were finally seated no one greeted us or acknowledged us. 30 minutes passed and no one asked for our order, not even water was given to us. Plenty of waiters passed by and not one looked our way. Waiters were just dancing around. So we just got up and spoke to a manager, whom was pretty rude and did not apologize for anything. So we just walked out. Worst experience ever.
Family and I had a great time. Great service and fun environment.
Wish they go back to massive plates as before but the new added items to the menu make up for all that.
We love Sofrito Restaurant.
Went to Sofrito at their prior location a few years ago and it was great. Clearly it’s under new management. It was very overpriced for what you get. Not very impressed with the food. Just adequate and overpriced 🙁
The service was terrible. Anytime we needed the waiter he was no where to be found. And the food and drinks took a while to come out.
First time here and the food was delicious - Drinks from the bar are good too! I would advise to valet if you drive and make sure u get a great scenic table inside.
Well we got there exactly at our reservation time. We walked in and there were certain areas that were closed off ( she told us to pick where we wanted to be seated but then told us the areas we wanted were closed ) The waitor came to us super quick took our drink order ; we ordered a pitcher of sangria which was suddle wasnt anything crazy to drink. ( personally have had better ) But for the most part the food was amazing. We chose an amazing spot for my best friends birthday ! Thanks again
Had a first date there. We had to sit somewhere not near any speakers, but it was great. She loved the food and the drinks. The wait staff constantly filled out water and checked on us to see if we needed anything else. Even though it was loud, we will be going back. That is a definite. We went on a chilly rainy night, but intend on going back when it's nice to use the outside area which has a great view of the GWB. Also from the inside. Perfect all around.
Awesome love the environment the food was delicious. Recommend it to everyone I know
My husband and I went to Sofrito to taste the food in anticipation of a special event we are planning. The restaurant was impressive with exquisite views of the Hudson River. The only drawback is that the music is played too loud to be able to hold a normal conversation with someone across the table. If the music could be played less loud, the patrons could then enjoy a wonderful evening of fun, romance, dance and good conversation. The food was good, particularly liked the sorrullitos with cheese but fifty dollars for a pitcher of sangria is a little ridiculous.
Pernil was amazing! And the mango margarita! Sofritos has been my favorite from E 57th st to Riverbank.
Always love it, had another OUTSTANDING meal! Hope to come back very soon. The empenyatas are to die for !
Great spot to come and eat. Went for a date night and had a good time.
Amazing! Repeat customer but will always return! Moved locations, now in the beautiful Riverside Park... beautiful brows! Great time!
Food was good , view was great, service was good just on a busy night they tend to rush to have table available.
Went during restaurant week. I ordered from the prefix menu, and my friend ordered from the regular menu, and they were both excellent choices! One of the best restaurant week menus that I've experienced! Wonderful ambience with views on the Hudson! Also, excellent customer service! There is even valet parking.
My first time at this location and couldn’t have been more perfect!
No one told us there was parking. We missed our reservation because we spent 20 minutes looking for parking
Because we missed our reservation we couldn’t eat inside.
Pretty disappointed. Host wasn’t pleasant. The one who took us to our seat actually looked upset. DJ was great though. Food outstanding.
I haven’t been here in 8 years. I just remembered why. Food was great. People not so much.
Outstanding food, great ambiance. It was a relaxed vibe and then we went outside in the lounge area to continue our laid back evening.
This place is convenient and the right spot either for a date night, night out with the girls, or a night out for you... Every thing is enjoyable...
Sofrito was a beautiful place love the food and the food was inexpensive. Great for a date or birthday dinner. Keep in mind it's a Spanish restaurant and they play Spanish music and some hip-hop.
The service needs to be better and management needs to hire staff that can handle busy establishments without looking like they're on hour 19 or a 8 hour shift. Not being of Hispanic heritage, I chose food that I was familiar with and it was great. My guests however, did not like the food or the service. Our reservation was at 10 but we got there early. They sat us early, about a half hour later but gave us a table in the middle of the walkway. When asked if our table can be moved we were told no because other people were coming. The noise level is at a 20 and I can see how orders can get messed up from not being able to hear and speak and be understood. LllllllllllThe food too long to arrive but our waiter did try his best. Overall I would not come back to this restaurant on my own choice. If invited by a friend of mine, I probably will.
I was there for my birthday my reservation was at 5pm I wasn’t seated until 5:45 because they were having a meeting with the servers. The drinks were weak and sangria was horrible. The wait staff had no personality they didn’t try to interact with us at all. The paella was not worth the price it was dry it tasted like it was made the day before i was there. I would not go there again nor recommend anyone to go there. I had told them it was my birthday and they didn’t offer me anything to help make it a special day.
Was a regular at the original east side sofrito and decided to try....for restaurant week, why not?!. Will never do again. The place is beautiful, great views. Literally steps into the park, yes they have valet parking. The food, was a disappointment. Overpriced dry and underwhelming. I had the watermelon soup...too much pepper, would have done better to just offer watermelon feta salad. Hubby had empanadas, the beef better than chicken. We both had the salmon ...it was dry overcooked served cold and the veggies underneath were mush.
The alcohol, had sangria a bit dry very little fruit. The waitress was wonderful, engaging friendly even offered it was best to order the pitcher if we planned to drink more than 2 drinks each.
Then we got thw bill, a 15% gratuity added for a party of 2 (i was planning on 20% i liked the waitress) then i noticed ANOTHER service charge..
Honestly for a restaurant week dinner we would have done better to order from the menu or better yet go somewhere reliable and consistent for service and FOOD. So seriously probably never again.
The atmosphere and food were great. The servers were wonderful and very accommodating. My one complaint that is completely out of their control is they are located right next to a big bus station so that didn't help the ambiance. The view from the other side as beautiful on the water with a view of the bridge
Highly unimpressed. We sat outside, there was an awful high-pitched buzz coming from the speakers, and the tables were not steady, they all were wobbly. Sitting inside wouldn't have been any better because they music was very loud. Service was ok-- but a bit slow. Food was average-- not terrible but not great. Amazing view, just too bad the management can't keep the place up better.
Service and food were excellent!
Went there to celebrate my wife’s bday and my family loved it. Ruthie was the best hostess, our server Cesar was great and the music was thumpin’ with old school-new school jams!
Can’t wait to go back there next time I’m back in NY. Thank you for making it special Sofritos!
Service was -1 I asked for sauce and lemon, ate my meal with neither. Asked for water it came when I was almost done with my meal. The food was not flavorful - steak had lots of fat around edges. Never again!
I came here to celebrate a few of my friends birthday. I was shocked to discover it was located inside of the park. They offer vallet parking for $15. If not paid we would’ve had to walk a lot just to get there. When you walk in you’re not greeted at all, no smiling nor welcoming faces running the show in the front. The place is absolutely beautiful and it has a great view. They have a DJ on the inside and the music is LOUD kinda shocking for a restaurant so I asked for a table outside, we get outside thinking the music would be lower but I was wrong. I do admit The music was great but the DJ kept talking over the songs not really letting you enjoy it but I was overall annoyed at the loud music, I couldn’t even hear my waiter and even he looked annoyed about it. If this is a restaurant I do not believe the music should be so loud it’s disappointing. The food was good but definitely overpriced and They did not have a lot of the beers they offer on the menu. Overall I feel like this restaurant has a lot of potential to be better but they need to lower that damn music and actually make it a place where you can enjoy your dinner and receive friendlier service.
