We celebrated my birthday. We ate, drank and had a good time. Service was nice our drinks were refilled before they even finished.
We have been to Sofritos several times. The food, particularly the pernil is excellent. We went for the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week lunch menu. An excellent value. The only complaint we ever have about the place is the noise level which is usually extreme on weekends and in the evening as the place is a bit of a scene and has a lot of big groups. You really can't talk if you are a table of 4. That is why we decided to go for lunch instead.
My fiance and I came to Sofrito for Restaurant week. Food and service was great!
Delicious food. I had the Ropa Vieja and my cousin had Arroz con Pollo. I also got a half tray of Pernil for a party.
Food was great, vibe was great, and the service was pretty fast! Only flaw was that the wait staff was not very attentive.
Always a good time...
Great service and FOOD!
The food and the drinks are great. But the noise level is ridiculous. The front area and the bar are deafening and the inner room has the music at high, the ceiling is low, perhaps deliberately to reverberate the noise and everyone is shouting over the other to be heard.
Perhaps they cater to the crowd which doesn't care. We went there because we know the food and drinks were good but primarily because it was open late to go there after a show, while the other surrounding restaurants closed at 10 or 10:30.
I would like to go there again, but don't think I will if I could go elsewhere, because of the noise.
Good food, great service, good ambience. also has a nice outdoor seating area, would recommend
Wasn't as memorable as my first experience at Sofrito in White Planes. The staff is young and attentive . The food is well prepared and is authentic. During the week it is lackluster, but on the weekend this gem really shines!
Recommended for a small gathering of friends, a first date (if you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere and good drinks) or a one on one romantic night with a loved one.
FIRST TIME DINING EXPERIENCE...THE FOOD WAS AMAZING... THE STAFF WAS SO HELPFUL & KIND ... OVERALL IT WAS A GREAT PLACE FOR ME TO CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY.. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR FINE DINING...⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The food was spectacular and the ambiance was beautiful. The best latin food ever. We’ll definitely be returning soon!
We were very pleased with the food but the service was very slow. Since we had a party of seven, a 20% gratuity was added automatically.
Well...I wanted to offer a great review...as a Nuyorican and Westchester resident I was to support my community. I am far from thrilled what I experienced at Sofrito.
The air conditiopner was on too low...it's Summer!! The one server looked and behaved so serious and depressed...I felt badly, for him. He did not refill our beverages nor did her check in on our table. Where is the Manager!? It was not even busy! The restaurant is much smaller than I imagined although there is a small room in the back of the restaurant for additional seating....kind of a strange set-up with the kitchen in the center. The interior decor is chaotic and too busy looking and the music way too LOUD!!! The is Lunch, we need a peaceful environment NOT irratating music...it was terrible!. They need to lower the volume of the music and get something more pleasant, jazzy or calming sounds instead of hyper obnoxious noise.
The bathrooms, often a sign of the cleaniness of the kitchen, ugh!! Filthy! Broken door handle. Both toilet stalls toilets were overflowing with clogged paper, the sink was leaking and did not work. It has no ability to turn on/off faucets...huh!? I took pics of the filth but will not post them all here.
With that said, the food is authentic, good and generous serving size. I had the Mofongo and hubby had Chicharon de Pollo.
I prefer lunch since the prices are reasonable for lunch...dinner appears to be very expensive. Come on, Sofrito, clean up your act and represent!! I do not patronize a restaurant that had dirty bathrooms. It also appeads that others have complained too, according to rreviews....so unnecessary!!! Me and my friends would love to visit more often!!
Food was good. Dessert could have been better. The pernil was delicious and tostones appetizer was excellent.
If I can give a negative star, I would! If you are looking for a little bit of an upscale service and ambiance, look somewhere else. There is no hint of class in this restaurant. The floor is filthy and don't even go to the restroom because you will puke! I made a reservation for 5, they called me to confirm the day before and when we got there, we were seated cramped in a small table. I asked if we can be seated comfortably and they had us wait for 20 minutes to clear out a 6 person table in the back of the restaurant. Unfriendly service with such an unacceptable attitude. Our server was a little nicer but weren't very attentive to us. The food is very mediocre. You're better off ordering from a corner bodega of some sort. It was a very disappointing experience. I do not recommend this restaurant at all!!
Celebrated Father’s Day with my family, food was great as usual.
Had brunch with family at Sofrtios. Was amazing.... good deal for the fixed price...the baby sancocho took me back home ! Will defintely come back and recommend to others. Thanks !
Food and service at Sofrito was very good. We were very happy with all our dishes. Great flavors and really nice sized portions.
One issue, big issue for some, not for all. They don't take AMEX. The waitress explained the reason why but it didn't help when the person buying dinner only had AMEX. A noticeable sign when you first walk in would have been helpful.
Otherwise, Sofrito is a great restaurant especially when you need your fix for Puerto Rican food!
The food was not tasteful. It was out of abundance. The service was horrible. The bathroom was disgusting dirty. It’s not what I had expected at all. It was not worth $300, at all!!!! Very disappointed and will never recommend anyone to this establishment. You need better food presentation and friendly hostess.
Long wait time
We were not aware the menu was prix-fixe for Mother’s Day as it was not advertised on their website nor on OpenTable. They also did not publish the price for the prix-fixe on any of the menus. Overall it was too pricy for the quality of the food. Food was overcooked, made ahead of time and then barely reheated. Service was a little slow but as they were very busy. The dessert was the only item that was warm and delicious. Overall not a great experience. I wouldn’t go back.
Service was terrible, after waiting 20 mins for a drink and to take out order dinner came in 5 mins and before our appetizers. We had no silverware to even eat. We couldn’t find our server and had to grab a busboy and explain we wanted our appetizer. They brought her appetizer before they bought our silverware we finally got the manager involved who didn’t seem to care one bit and we ended up getting up and walking out and not having one thing to eat. The food smells great but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth I would never recommend this place. It’s a shame because it seems like it has potential
I had made reservations for 7pm and arrived almost an hr early. I asked the hostess if there was anything available for the current time and acknowledged that my party and I were earlier than expected. She was quite rude and got someone to accommodate us, which we appreciated. We were seated towards the back which I preferred, the front of the restaurant was crowded and very noisy. Overall, the food was okay, the plates looked old and scratched and grey (the plates looked like they were once white) and honestly sort of gross looking while you’re eating. The waiter never came around to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything, he also did not ask if we were interested in dessert or went over the dessert menu, he just put the menus on the table once we were done with our entree and walked away.
Ok food, loud, fun. Good service. Open table makes it hard to leave a review. Too many rules
Service was great. Food outstanding and plentiful. My pernil will last me 3 days!!
Food was delicious as always but a little disappointed with the fact that this was a special occasion but wasn’t acknowledged by the staff which would have been appropriated by I and my wife and daughter. Dropped $ 240. 00 for dinner. Don’t think I’ll do that again.
I went the first time on a Friday nite parking was hard to find but eventually we found a parking across from Sofrito’s. An we walk an the parking was only $3 for 3 hour which is not bad at all. We made reservation at 8 thinking it would take long for the ride to New York plus the traffic but it was a easy smooth ride we left around 5 and got there around 6 an we made it to happy hour we sat an have a few drink an app the food was amazing it came out quick the drink was phenomenal the waiter was nice an came by an ask if we’re ok. They had a dj that night he play really good music so we stay at the bar til it was time an we got seated the Waiter was nice food came out quick an hot
My wife and I went to Sofrito to enjoy some Puerto Rican food. We enjoyed the customer service and cuisine. I think toning the music would help hearing someone speak.!
This had to be one of my favorite dinners ever! The empanadas were exquisite. The pernil was so fresh and delicious. The paella reminded of one I had in Spain! The desserts were incredible. Wonderful Sangria too! Service was impeccable.
I definitely will be going back.
Had family in from out of town they love the food and the atmosphere. We always come here and always enjoy the food and wanted to share that with our family.
Food was so-so. Paella was not good, full of sausage and too much smoke flavor
Decided to try Sofrito during HVRW. First visit. I was very impressed with the menu they offered. Nice variety of food. We ordered cocktails and our server was very attentive. Started with empanadas. Excellent. Our server offered additional dipping sauces which were a great compliment. We all decided to order the paella. It was good but alas the rice was a bit dry and not very flavorful. A bit disappointed. Dessert was great, coconut flan and I had a tri level cake in a sweet crème sauce. I found the music a bit too loud but my twenty something daughter had no problem. Guess I am getting old. Nice place. Will go back!
We had a delicious meal and a wonderful server. The food was hot and so tasteful.
We can not wait to go back!
Excellent food and service! Great place for eat out with kids. Just need a little improvement with the drinks :/
Really enjoyed the food and ambiance. My flank steak was incredible and tres leche for desert is delicious. Service was good and it was packed on a Saturday night.
Everything was great except for some guy tugging on his vape every three secs. I honestly think he thought he was being cool. Regardless, I’n my opinion that should be done outside or downstairs, not in the main dining area!
The restaurant, the staff, food and atmosphere was excellent. I took my wife to her birthday dinner. The food was amazing, Gabriel was our waiter, he and the entire staff took care of us. Loved it. We will go back and we also will recommend this nice place to everyone we know. Please keep this great vibe, amazing service and delicious food. This is all you need to expand and bring in more business.
Pernil is the best Ive ever had. The pumpkin spiced drink was amazing. Looking forward to returning.
We came for an evening to celebrate a friends birthday, the service was excellent, food was delicious, and the drinks were great. They also have a great happy hour menu that they offer at the bar. We will definitely be back, and thanks for showing us a great time:)
