This is our 3rd visit to Sofia's Restaurant. The food is always delicious. We usually go with friends but this time it was my husbands birthday so we were with our children. My daughter has a nut and sesame allergy and I mentioned this to our waiter Franco where he assured us there is no cross contamination within the kitchen. I had the chicken marsala, absolutely delicious, my husband had the black ink pasta which he always gets at Sofia's, my son had the lamb chops which were cooked to perfection and my daughter had the penne vodka which she finished and that says a lot because she is very picky. Franco is a fabulous waiter. He brought us a delicious taramisu on the house and they sang Happy Birthday. we don't live in Brooklyn but we cross the bridge to enjoy great food.
Decent red sauce Italian food, you are not going to be mesmerized.
Food was delicious. Franco the bar tender/waiter was awesome! He made us a watermelon salad that wasn’t on the menu. So refreshing. Would definitely go back!
The food service and ambiance was great. We were there for over 3 hours and weren’t rushed. Will definitely be back and will recommend to everyone
Manager / owner was incredibly rude, I will never go back
usually all 5 stars. Meat was overcooked. Typically its one of my favorite steaks. Probably it was just too late in the evening. We sat down at 11:30. Still my fav restaurant in town
Very nice Italian restaurant. Brucheta excellent, Caesar salad not good, red snapper livornese excellent. I would go back again
I was pleasantly surprised because I had read some bad reviews, but it was a good experience. We enjoyed our meal, our wine, and our dessert. The portions were right-sized and price was reasonable for the area. We all ate pasta, so maybe that’s what they do best?
Lousy service, very noisy. Would not recommend it to anybody
Waiter was very friendly food and appetizer came out on time.
Waiters have attitudes...food limited and common. Constantly had to look for waiter to get butter, bread and water. Nice that opens onto street, however, they let garbage and leaves blow in onto the floor and left it the entire time dining.
My waiter who seems to have been there for a long time was greeted by all the patrons of the restaurant with a hug. Always nice to see that. He recommended the special, lamb shank, and a wonderful red wine to go along with it, and it was one of the better wine pairing combos I've had in a while. Excellent service and amazing food.
Very good food. Typical neighborhood restaurant. Friendly service. Nothing negative.
Great food and service
Excellent service! Waiter was great. Recommend to all.
The food was very good. The service was friendly and personable. I had the linguine in white clam sauce and it was excellent. Some of our party is typically very fussy, but they all liked the food at Sofia's.
Delicious, fresh food. Never had a special I did not like. Excellent service.
The best food and service around! Would highly recommend!
Haven’t been there in years and it was a pleasure. Food was delicious, service was great - we weren’t rushed which we loved. Overall, we had a very nice & enjoyable dinner.
Excellent as usual, food, service, price. Had a blast!
Great neighborhood Italian restaurant... loved the service
The waiters were obnoxious, especially ours who poured himself a glass of our champagne and drank it without asking, shouting Cheers to us. It was New Years Eve and everyone was kinda drunk but that shouldn't include the waiter. He flirted with the women at the table I mean big time !!! sexist comments and stuff. We are in our forties and we were the youngest people in here. Everyone was 60+ including the staff. Very old fashioned Italian eatery, food was meh! Wine selection was low grade wines horribly overpriced. WE won't be back to this place
Randomly selected Sofia’s. Lucky choice. Drinks were generous, food was delicious, atmosphere old school Italian and service excellent. Will definitely return!
Cannot say enough good things about this experience. From our amazing waiter to the awesome food, Sofia’s was perfect in every way. After a lot of walking around Brooklyn, we stopped in for dinner. All 5 of us had a great experience and will definitely come back next time we’re in Brooklyn!!
Food was good. We were all happy with our food
I love this restaurant, my husband and I have been enjoying dinners at Sophia’s since it first opened. We have never had a bad meal. We have always been treated very well and the service is excellent. No complaints, love love ❤️ the Place. Nancy and Nick
The beans is pasta fragioli were under cooked. Veal was tough and tuna had a very fishy taste. We went on a Thursday night so we expected to have fresh fish. Overall, not a great experience. Would not go again.
Dinner was great from the wine to the appitizers the waiter was super Kool and very attentive to our table I took my friend here for her bday and she loved how cozy it was I will come here again
Old school. Not impressed. Unfortunately will not return.
Food was okay, but the live entertainment/karaoke was way too loud. We could not hear anything and it made it very difficult to communicate. Will not be back.
Food was great as always. Been there several times and going back. Service was excellent. Always enjoy ourselves.
I loved Sofia’s! I’ve heard only great things about the food! I had to go! The waiters were very nice, and our food came quick!
The food, atmosphere & the service was excellent!
I am sure back in the day this was an excellent restaurant. Now the place needs a major facelift. The food is very good and has potential, the waiters are weak at best. No restaurant now a days should have a filthy outdated bathroom.
Waiter were very nice and pleasant it was my first time eating here food was good didn't have to wait a long time for food the place was small but very cozy and pleasant music they played was very nice I enjoyed the 80 play list they had I will make another trip soon
Wonderful Mother’s Day dining
Used to go here every Friday for drinks and beef carpaccio about 6 years ago. Decided to visit it for Mother’s Day. The food was not great and the place is very dated from what I remember it to be. It smelled like stale cigarette a little but as we sat there the smell went away. The carpaccio was still a little frozen from the freezer so not fresh at all. Service was good. I feel like this restaurant needs an upgrade to be what it used to be back in the day. Prices were okay but the quality of the food was lacking.
Always a great meal with great service, Paul and his staff always accommodating and make you feel like family!
Great food & Service
Sofia’s never disappoints. Franco, Moustafa and the rest of the staff know how to keep you happy!!!!! Great place.
