We wish that you would offer more vegetables. My husband cannot eat broccoli and cauliflower, which is already mixed into your very limited vegetable medley. Please give us a better choice. We love Sofia’s!
Food and service was terrific! Hostess was disconnected and on the side of “rude”. All at our table made same comment about her. She needs a back end job, not front of house!
Asked to sit away from people and they honor that. They were very nice about it. My Bronzino was delicious.
Always a good meal at Sophia’s. Four of us all got different entrees and enjoyed what we ordered. Portion size was perfect. Nice to go on an off night and didn’t have to fight the crowds for parking.
Excellent overall experience
Definitely recommend, so impressed with design and food was excellent!
The atmosphere is beautiful and the food was outstanding
Great dinner! Beautiful outdoor dining overlooking the bay, amazing food and great service. We will definitely be back!
We had a great meal with our friends- our second visit- will be regular guests !
It was my daughter’s birthday, everyone including ours servers and especially the receptionist Dana went out of their way to make it a special night. The food was outstanding!
Outside seating is key to having a "quiet" dinner for four. The evening was lovely, table so we could see the sunset, food and service were quite good. Would definitely go back again!
We ate outside which was wonderful. Patio area is beautifully landscaped. Started were so delicious we could have made that the meal. Food was good except my wife’s bronzino was dry. Definitely will frequent again!
Love eating outside there! Great food! Great service
Love this place! One of our favorites-have had nothing but amazing food every time and the staff is so pleasant and service is wonderful!
We have been going to Sophia’s for many years and it is always a favorite. As locals we avoid going there in the summer due to the tourists. We knew it may have still been busy even though it was the end of September. We made a reservation but they still take walk-ins. We had to wait over half an hour beyond our reservation time before we were seated. During this time we had a drink at the bar and could have just eaten there, but wanted to sit in one of the dining rooms. We were seated at a high top table next to the bar. Our poor server had too many tables and there was not a bus person in site. Our service was very slow, but it was not her fault. We totally realize that many businesses are short staffed and if that was the only issue, I would not be writing this. Our food was unacceptable. I ordered the summer salmon which was supposed to come with an avocado and orange tartare. I received a undercooked piece of salmon with essentially a crappy store bought scoop of guacamole on the side. That’s it. It was awful. My husband got a fish special which was a bland and supposed to be over a crab risotto. There was no crab in the risotto. We both left extremely disappointed and hungry. I’m happy that they are doing so well, but they need to either turn away the walk-in customers or say that things are sold out if they can not make them as described.
This is the first fair meal we had. My branzino was over cooked and had no flavor.
The waitress did not come back after our meals were served to see if we needed anything.
I will go back because it is one our favorite places, but not too soon
Wonderful food service ambiance location. Our favorite!
Maria M the greater is terrific.
Excellent service and delicious authentic Greek food.
While down the shore we looked for a Mediterranean restaurant. We were attracted to Sofia for a dinner date. It is a beautiful place with both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose indoor. For our first time we were deciding between two separate entree choices (bowl w. protein and sea bass) or the Land for two with several meat options. We chose Land and were underwhelmed. The chicken was the best out of the Prime and the Lamb chop. For $89 for 2, I could have gotten same or better steak at chain restaurant. Next visit, we will try seafood and bowl and hope for better.
They were very busy, they're short help, didn't get seated until 8:15 for a 7:30 reservation. Food was warm, not hot, server never came back to ask if everything was ok, prices are much higher and portions are smaller.
Our dining experience last night was a bit of a disappointment. Our table was in a great location on the roof. However, bright spot lights showered down on us. It was brighter than daylight and made my dining partners sweat profusely. We asked our server if she could turn down the lights. She did it for a moment and said that other diners could not see. So instead of moving us to another table we had to sit under the glare of the spotlights.
As usual, everything we ordered was decent. Especially delicious was the oil that was served with the hot rolls. Huge disappointment was the espresso and cappuccino at the end of our meal. It was really unpalatable. Our server never came over and I had to track down another server and ask him to send our server over after waiting and looking for her for about 15 minutes. In addition, all of us ordered mixed drinks and no one seemed to be able to taste any alcohol in our drinks. I was hoping for so much more from our dinner last night and we left feeling disappointed.
The grilled swordfish with crabmeat and couscous, and Plaki were excellent. The Tuscan flatbread appetizer was notable, and all of the cuisine was intricately seasoned and healthy.
The seating area outside and the weather was the best part of the evening. The half chicken I ordered was over cooked, on the dry side. My wife ordered the salmon, the portion was so small that it was a disgrace. The prices were not compatible with the portion size or the chicken. The waitress was very nice. I don't think we'll be going back for a long time, especially when the weather gets cooler. We loved sitting out side but was very disappointed with the food. A friend in the restaurant business referred us. He must get better service because he knows the owner.
A Friday night out with my sisters and our parents... we were so excited.... we sat at the bar first and enjoyed a few cocktails made by the wonderful bartenders!!! Conversation with other patrons was great! Ambiance was perfect.. we like a vibrant & busy, mixed age, crowd- and we got it!!!
We moved to our table when ready and we’re greeted promptly by our female server. She made a few suggestions for appetizers and we ordered all three she suggested... grilled octopus, calamari and some sort of cheese they set on fire (we were excited about that one).
A basket of bread was brought to table with a pesto dipping oil... oil was great!!!!!! Bread, hard like rocks.
The octopus and calamari came out..... calamari was alright. I’ve had better, I’ve had worse.... octopus was tough!!! Like, steak knife, put all your strength into cutting it, tough... but, after three drinks we needed to eat! Lol.
Our dishes were cleared, but I said to our server, “we ordered the fire cheese and haven’t gotten it yet”. Her reply??? “Oh the kitchen 86’d it”. Like, wtf? You weren’t gonna tell us??? Not even to give us another option of third app??? Weird. Ok, moving on..
So then our dinners came.....Well.... disappointed is an understatement. Five dinners, five people, not one was happy.
I ordered the lobster pesto.. Tough lobster tail with fishy lobster chunks on some linguini in a creamy sauce.
One sister order the “special”, steak (ordered MR) with burrata. Tough steak, overcooked, best part was the burrata. My other sister ordered crab cakes, she said they were ok, again she’s had better she’s had worse. Mom ordered lamb chops, she said were tough and her veggies were undercooked. My dad had the pasta sofia and said it was “fine”. All in all, I definitely would not run back for a meal here, but, If I do go, I’ll take the advice we were given by the sweet couple we made friends with at the bar, JUST ENJOY THE BAR AND MAYBE ORDER THE DIP TRIO”.
3 stars b/c bar & ambiance outweigh food
Had a wonderful Anniversary dinner at Sofia's! The staff made sure to that we had a comfortable and secluded space to dine. The food was so enjoyable. Definitely recommend for an evening out with friends as well!
Perfect evening on the upstairs porch. Staff quickly provided high chair for baby and served with smiles the whole time.
Great food and service.
Overbooked for below average food. Had 8:45 pm reservations and they were way behind just getting to 8 pm reservations. We were seated at 9:30 pm. Food was just okay. Don’t think I will return.
Love eating outside there! Food was delicious! Looking forward to going back!
Despite 8:45 reservations, we were seated at 9:20. By 9:45, we only had water. We had to flag down waitstaff, otherwise we would still be there. Then, all our food arrived all at once (appetizers and main). They took the mains back, but they obviously stood under a heat lamp for 20 minutes. For what it cost, the food was just ok. They comped dessert (that we really didn’t want).
Everything was exceptional! Food and service is too notch.
Celebrated the upcoming wedding of a cousin with family. The location, restaurant, service and food were wonderful. Extremely high quality and prices were absolutely reasonable. We will absolutely be back!
I have never had a bad meal at this beautiful restaurant. Our dinner was delicious and as always the service was fantastic. Highly recommend this lovely restaurant.
Restaurant is beautiful but a little pricy and portions are fairly small
Great food and service!
Sofia’s has a lovely atmosphere for outdoor dining(which is all we’re doing during Covid). However, the food is good but not exceptional & their prices are too high for what we ordered.
Excellent as usual.
This restaurant never disappoints! The Chilean Sea Bass is to die for as well as the Saganaki. Don't miss this!
Great outdoor seating. Anastasia and Maria are fantastic servers. Would come here again and again. Love this place!
