Happy hour deal (ends at 6pm) is a great value. Food was delicious.
The service was great! The food was great! What a delightful experience! I didn’t see anything on the menu that I wanted so I asked the waiter for a special order of spaghetti with a bolognese sauce, some cooked spinach, and meatballs. Absolutely the very best! What a superb meal! I’d go back in a heartbeat the next time I’m in Chicago.
Outstanding from hostess to bar to table service - all excellent! Portions great, service fast, social distanced.
Great restaurant within a few minutes walk of Jazz Showcase.
Local business, quality food, knowledgeable staff.
Decent neighborhood, Italian. Great variety, good quality, excellent value. Nice room and patio on Printers Row, service is very good.
My party was dining for Easter and last day of Restaurant Week. We loved the special menu and pricing. The only disappointment was the cocktails.
ate here for restaurant week. Food was good. They only thing was I sent back my Soup because it was cold instead of hot. Also, they did not have margaritas.
We never miss a chance to eat here. It’s always delicious and the service is attentive.
A friendly, welcoming experience from the beginning with charm and plenty of Italian accented staff. We requested a corner table upon entering and were gladly accommodated.
Food, service and ambiance were excellent.
We shall return!
Good service great food. Will be back again for my everyday dining.
Our first time here at Sofi and we celebrated our one of many anniversaries and will definitely be our favorite place to go!
Italian is my favorite food and the service was phenomenal! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience! We are going back to taste all the other dishes! Overall the - Focaccia, Artichoke Fonduta, Rigatoni Sofi, Branzino al Forno and Tiramisu ❤️ 🇮🇹 💯 Fantastic! And the experience too, For keeps!
The food was incredible! My group was presently surprised.
Only a few complaints
1. The cheesecake was warm and that was unexpected and not in a good way.
2. The server ripped us off! We had a group of 4 people and 20% gratuity was added. Obviously we didn’t expect this and the drinks had been flowing at dinner so we tipped 20% ON TOP of that! Didn’t realize we got robbed until we looked at receipt the next day. Why didn’t the server tell us about the automatic gratuity? And the service was the WORST part! And they walked away with almost 50% tip?! My group was very upset about that but at least we really enjoyed the meal. Don’t plan to go back here since they played it so snakey. MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOU RECEIPT BEFORE YOU TIP!
What a great find! If it weren’t for Restaurant Week, I’m not sure this would’ve gotten on our radar. Understated decor, wide ranging menu stressing Northern Italian cuisine. The “surfs” (lobster bisque and octopus appetizer) as well as “the turfs” (beef tenderloin Rossini and lamb chops) were excellent. The desserts were good and since there were several to choose from, we’re looking forward to further exploring that course as well. Really friendly, helpful service. There’s an outside area as well (at least for now). Somewhat limited wine by the glass list but we found something for each of us. If you still have time-check out the best value, widest selection menu for Restaurant Week. If you see this too late, go anyway as you’ll have a great meal, probably with leftovers! We will return and will recommend this as a pre-theater spot as well.
Very nice Italian restaurant tucked away in Printer's Row. Friendly service, great food!
Sofi had the most entree options for its Restaurant Week menu and all our courses were spot on! Seven, our server, was impeccable. The entire experience was delightful; highly recommended!
I feel so lucky to have one of the finest, if not the best, true Italian restaurant in my neighborhood. The pastas are excellent. love starting with their eggplant as an appetizer. Hands down don't miss entree is the roasted branzino. The lamb is amazing. Service is great. Can;t say enough good things about Sofi
The service was great and the staff person was excellent. The food was first class. The wine list was great and as a rule I am not a dry wine drinker but the wine was good.
Went with a girlfriend for their restaurant week dinner menu and had a decent experience. Not sure if I would pay regular price for some of the items we ate. Lobster ravioli and lobster bisque soup was a okay. I liked the bacon wrapped scallops however would have taken it up a notch if bacon was crisp instead of soft and slightly undercooked. Girlfriend enjoyed her lamp chops. I would visit again and maybe try some different items or during a happy hour where I could try more things ( get a bang for the buck). Lemon drop martini was a bit over powering and taste mainly of the vodka used.
Wonderful food! Loved each course. From seafood to steaks-- attention to detail in every way.
Server recommended Filet Mignon, which was very good but no side dish came with it. The bread it came with was extremely hard to chew. The lobster bisque was a huge disappointment, lukewarm and virtually no flavor and very watery.
The food was very good. We did the prix fix meal and we didn't make it to dessert and finished a third of my entree. Service was lacking a little. I understand them being understaffed at the moment. Everything else was great. Go hungry.
lovely dining experience
Good! The restaurant week menu was fantastic
Food was very good. Able to order “off the menu” for my son’s friend and they accommodated. Expensive but worth it.
No complaints with Sofi. Food was good. Server realized a mistake made on the bill and corrected the issue, really appreciated that.
We had a great experience at SoFi last Thursday. The food that we ordered was outstanding. The waiter was very attentive to our needs, and checked in with us periodically asking if we needed anything else. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. If you are in Chicago and want to celebrate, go to SoFi.
Food was excellent.
Service was excellent and the food was very enjoyable.
Excellent service, food, and ambiance. Will be back!
My girlfriend and I had reservations at 7pm. We weren't sat until 7:05. The manager did offer us a glass of champagne for our wait but everyone else that worked there had an attitude problem and was not hospitable at all. The food was decent but was not memorable. We definitely wouldn't go back.
Food was great. My gf ordered Bloody Mary but they didn’t have the mix. They went out to buy it and made her the Bloody Mary on the house. It was Valentine’s Day and they were swamped but everything was great.
The server was great, but the vday menu execution was very poor. The only item that was cooked properly was the scallops, the branzino, lobster, noodles, and leeks were over cooked. The lobster bisque was watery, not enough cream. A lot of the food lacked flavor & salt. The panna cotta was bland & had too much of a gelatinous texture vs a creamy one and the cheesecake was more like a tres leches cake. Was disappointed & don’t plan on returning.
Great food. Nice little place with lots of energy. Authentic Italian at its best.
It was great to go back to one of our favorite places. Outstanding, as usual.
The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. Overall, it was a great experience
The food was delicious. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu & wine selection. We loved his wine suggestion. We ate outside in a tent with a few heaters so that definitely made me feel safer during these crazy times.
We got there right on time and were seated immediately, however it took them a while to be acknowledged. The services was ok we were not impressed at all. It took them over 15 minutes to brings us water and about 30 to take our order. The food was ok. if it would've been hot would've been delicious but it was just warm. Sadly I was not impressed.
