Berkshire Tomahawk Pork Chop

I decided to try this venue after seeing it on an episode of Triple D. It did not disappoint. It was much better than expected. I had dinner at Charlie Palmers Steakhouse the previous night and I can say that Washoe Public House was much better. Can’t wait to go back again.
Too noisy food good
Great food and lousy service
From the start just approaching the front door, the place looked shabby; there was some litter just outside, and the area in front of the door appeared not to have even been swept in a week. The first impression inside was not much better - there were smudges on the bar, and the staff seemed more interested in socializing with one another and a few customers than in paying attention to us. The windows looked like they hadn't been washed in at least weeks. I will say that once we were seated at our table, the server was very nice and attentive. But I rate the meal as poor. We both had the "catch of the day," which we were told was "bass" (maybe?). If a restaurant is going to serve seafood, which spoils quickly, they had better be sure it is at least fairly fresh and does reek of old, dried out fish. We both came to the same conclusion that whatever kind of fish it may have been, it had been a long time since it was at all fresh. Very disappointed.
Our server was good, the food was ok, I’ve had much better from them in the past hoping it was just a bad night. The manager ( woman ) was rude to other customers who were just trying to get out of the rain.In the past I would have given five stars on all criteria.
I came here due to the acclaimed double elk chop by Guy Fierri. That particular dish was very good. The meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was juicy and flavorful, accompan ied by roasted potatoes and asparagus spears. The presentation was very nice. We has the superfood salad - delicious and the artisan salad ( ho hum). The pork belly egg rolls were different certainly, with a kick of heat and funk from the kimchee, serves with a honey sauce laced with Chinese hot mustard. The service however was abysmal! I believe the green waitstaff was due to Covid. The waitperson did not know how dishes were prepared, what accompaniments were, nor was not able to describe how they tasted. We waited 30 minutes after our appetizers were eaten to be given our salads and entree that were delivered to our table at the same time. Judging from the warm temperature of the salads, I believe they were left on the pass for quite some time.
Amazingly good food for the price point. The salads were unusual and delicious, and the main courses were also good. The portions were extremely generous. A few small quibbles: we sat indoors and the the place is very much the worse for wear. Also, the sauces were a little heavy handed. But altogether, very creative and delicious food for a very moderate price.
Tried the Wild Boar Schnitzel. It was good!
Both OpenTable and WPH website said happy hour was Mon-Fri till 6pm, booked 5:45 reservation so we'd make it, but was told they aren't doing happy hour with no explanation, so that was disappointing from the start. The food was good, but not great, like the last time I went. WPH used to be my favorite place in Reno (which isn't saying much), but after this experience it's basically on par with everyone else (which also isn't saying much).
Was good, was expecting more from a summer salad..service was minimal. I'll select a more tatay item next time
Good lunch today. First time visiting here. I enjoyed their Washoe burger with the pancetta beef patty. It was pretty good. The fresh cut French fries were perfectly and expertly prepared. Service was attentive and friendly.
Food was all breading and dry. My wife has 2 bites and gave up. I got half way through and stopped. Waste of time and money. Literally the 5th place I’ve been to on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives that was terrible.
We travelled to the Reno/Lake Tahoe area to visit family and enjoyed lunch at this restaurant; the overall experience was so exceptional we decided to return for dinner two days later. Dinner offered a different menu than lunch and included fresh seafood offerings such as salmon and red snapper as well as unique entrees such as elk. The menu items were without exception very good and presented very creatively. The service was very attentive and cheerful. The prices were a bit on the high side but worth every penny. When we return to the Reno/Lake Tahoe area we will definitely again visit this restaurant.
Low key evening with great food in a a wonderful environment. A little pricey however food was good and portion size was bigger than average.
Excellent food! Great variety. I had the duck and my husband had the pork chop. We shared the glazed chicken wings/drumettes which were all delicious. I good place for lunch and a casual dinner. Would not be my first choice for a romantic date night. You would be overdressed.
The food was amazing and our server was really nice
We were celebrating a friend’s new job. The food and service were great. It was a noisy place, so there were times I had to ask my friend to repeat himself.
I thoroughly enjoy the food, service and dining atmosphere at Washoe Public House. My favorite is the curried chicken cups - yum!
Hamburger was amazing! Waffle fries were crispy and perfect. Short rib Poutine--not so good--short on the short ribs and heavy on the gravy and "curds." Very, very loud. Next time I would sit outside.
The Mother’s Day brunch did not disappoint. A special yummy eggs(many ways) menu with homemade scones ,bottomless mimosas and two choices of dessert. The coffee was great and the fruit was delicious. The service was excellent as well.
Great food, great service, great staff! Will definitely be back!
Normally we love taking our friends here as it is a great experience. However, the last couple of time it seems like the overall experience has fallen off. This time in particular it seemed like nothing went right. First, the table we were seated at was broken in multiple locations. Second, our server Reese, although he was nice, he seemed to be in a rush to get us out of there even though we had just sat down. For example when asking about specials rather than explaining each individual item he just listed that there were Salad, Soup, Fish, etc.. specials and that if any of those categories interested us that he would go over them specifically. Furthermore, one of the reasons for going to the Washoe Public House was for the dessert as we are big fans of the lemon cake. However, we were not even asked if we wanted dessert, nor given the chance discuss as he brought the bill to us as soon as the entrée course was removed from the table. As much as I would like to say we will be returning; I don’t know if we will. Sad to see this place going downhill.
The food was outstanding! Pancetta Bacon Burger may have been best burger ever; great service, nice patio!
Poutine was marvelous. Bulgogi lettuce cups good. Goat cheese salad good. Hamachi crudo not fresh. Should have known better than to order raw fish in Reno.
We ordered the poutine and potato bourguignon soup as appetizers. So delicious. For dinner, we ordered the Washoe burger and one of the specials, a carbonara pasta.
Would eat here again, great service, great food.
Had an amazing lunch at Washoe's. The food was superb and the drinks were very well prepared. We sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed being waited on by our wonderful waitress. "I didn't get her name" But she gets it. Her attention to detail was amazing.
I've been to WPH numerous times and I have never been disappointed. Food & service is always amazing!
Great dinner cool place
Food and service was great! We will definitely be back again.
First timers. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be returning
Great service! The sandwiches(ham and cheese and chicken sandwich) and appetizers(pork bahn mi were really good.
A fun place but if you're hard of hearing and wish to visit, this is not the venue. Great bar and loved the martini that was balanced just right. The food was quite tasty, but the meat came with some unchewable bits. Still a good meal and fun venue.
Absolutely loved the food and service! We will definitely be back!! The food is amazing!!
Food was good, service was super slow... not sure if it was because of Covid or something else but even our order taking was slow and server just did not seem to be super responsive.
We had a great lunch and the food was fantastic. I highly recommend the short rib grilled cheese!
It was a little awkward as we were placed in a back room and felt somewhat disconnected from our waitress. Previously we have eaten out on the patio and I enjoyed it more.
Food was delicious!!
The food was delish. I had the Rock Candy Shortribs. They were melt in your mouth. The crispy fried shallots on top were great. My husband had the Elk Rack and thought it was great too.
Extensive menu with a lot of choice. The wedge salad was one of the best I have ever had!
