Washoe Public House
The filet mignon was delicious with Peruvian potatoes because not everyone loves Brussel sprouts and that was the only option on the menu...we were happy with the substitution although a different veggie no starch would've been ideal.
The house Chardonnay was great and the Caesar and desserts were wonderful with the Valentine menu.
There are not enough options on the menu for us to return for a visit however
innovative, tasty menu items. Light, airy atmosphere. Will return.
Dining here in the summer would be fun as they have a patio. Also the selection on the happy hour menu was really good. We tried a mix of plates and they were all good. The ambiance is nothing special, but still worth it for the creative food and drink.
It was noisy and our server was slow getting our food out to us. I liked this restaurant when it was SoDo and I don't think I'll be back. I ordered the Wild Boar Schnitzel and it was dry with little to recommend it.
First they only gave me a new years menu. Sec the crab bisque tasted like puree cream corn. Fish smelled. Bread pudding was bland. The best thing about the meal was the pecan ice cream on top of a bland bread pudding.
Went for New Years Eve, so they had a fixed menu. Never been there otherwise. The food was great, as was the service. It was a nice place, too. Don't expect a private booth. It's just tables, plus a small bar area.
Brought three friends from out of town.. loved the menu..... no the same ole same ole.... Everyone loved their food .. big time .. !
Try the cavatapi Mac and cheese. Yum!!!
Food was unique and flavorful. We had nothing that wasn't extremely tasty.
My risotto was a little under cooked, but aside from that, we had a wonderful meal and received excellent service!
This was a great meal before heading to the theatre for the Nutcracker. Good food, good drink, great time.
Food was great - from apps to entrees. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Accommodated a large party on short notice.
We had a very nice dinner. Staff was most accommodating.
I usually love this place and go there often. It might be time to change up the dinner menu. Seems like it’s been the same one for about a year.
Great Happy Hour Menu! Our server was warm and engaging, made us feel welcome. So glad we saved room for dessert.
Fantastic meal, service was perfect. Thank you for a nice evening.
Went in with a group of 4 on a weekday night. Food was just "meh" - it wasn't bad, but it wasn't creative, properly seasoned, well crafted or properly cooked. My salmon was cold in the middle. One of our guests fish skin was soggy with cold rice sides.
Service was good, not great. A little pushy, like they really needed to turn the table, but the restaurant was nearly empty.
We still had a fun night, but that was mainly due to the company. The food was certainly not the star.
That said, I would probably give them a second chance - everyone has an off night.
Easily some of the best food I've had since moving to Reno and the service was fantastic!
Too dark inside, out light by our table was out, so that did not help. Portion size for price on some items was not a good value. MP on a NY strip is a bit excessive. Just was not that overall impressed by the place. Their craft cocktails however, were really good. But they were out of a few we ordered.
Food was very good, great flavor. Our waiter had many large tables to take care of besides us, so as a result, he was overwhelmed. Other waiters helped him a little, but could have helped a lot more instead of standing around.
We had dinner at the Washoe Public House in advance of attending a concert at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. The restaurant is located just a short walk from the center main parking area, very convenient! It was a fairly quiet night, but we were eating kind of early to get to the show. Really enjoyed our Grilled Salmon and Washoe Burger entrees. Had to try a cup of the soup of the day, which was a delicious mushroom soup - great for a chilly fall evening. Menu is a bit limited. Lots of interesting small plates. The burger was very reasonable for $15. All the other entrees were $28 and higher. Would like to see some options at various price points. Drinks were very good, but a little expensive also. Service was very good.
We were pleasantly surprised by the dinner we had. The poke lettuce wrap appetizer was delicious especially with the cilantro on top. Our family had the elk steak, duck and tomahawk pork chop that were all excellent. The lemon cake dessert was delicious, but the peach cobbler was hot but runny. Overall the service was excellent, and we will come back.
Discovered Washoe Public House at the Yelpstronomy event. They have the most amazing Rock Candy Short Ribs. Everything was really tasty and inventive. Noticed upon sitting down that there was no salt and pepper on the menu so I figured I would have to ask for it but neither of us needed it - it was that good. Dinner prices are up there but they also have a great lunch menu if dinner is out of the budget. We will definitely be returning.
I loved sitting outside with my husband and daughter at sunset. It is in a nice neighborhood and felt like I was in a different city than Reno. Our waiter was excellent. Dogs were welcome which was fun. The food was good. We had the ceviche tostadas as an appetizer (it was a special that night). My husband ordered the Irish nachos which was huge and the waiter did warn us. My daughter had the New York steak which she really liked. I had the halibut which was good but just a tad overcooked. My husband enjoyed his burger. Overall we had an enjoyable time and good food.
The meal was outstanding, but the acoustics were terrible. Some noise reduction should be considered.
Great service and good food. Unique food and very fresh.
Nick and the team was superb and you can't get better service.
A little summer storm forced us to sit inside, but it did not damper our experience.
The bartender was flexible in creating two cocktails after I shared my likes and both were really really good.
My Veggie burger was delicious, could have been warmer for sure
The Lettuce Poke wraps were outstanding
The duck tasted good
We'll be back the next time we visit
Risotto was undercooked (chalky and crunchy). Scallops were $8.50 apiece, and the “potatoes” that came with them were a small and runny afterthought on the plate.
Exceptional dining; courteous, efficient service, welcoming, modern ambiance and exquisitely prepared food with a nicely varied menu. One of Reno's best!
This was a great experience with a great host, chef and bartender. The food was awesome with specials you will not find in other local restaurants. We will go back many times to enjoy this restaurant.
Great midtown location, easy parking, very eclectic menu.
First time we had been here since SoDo (former occupant of same space) closed a couple of years ago. There were some things on the menu that sounded good, but a lot of the dishes sounded like they had a sweet component, something we're not generally fans of. Pork belly spring rolls were really good, despite the honey mustard on the side. Rabbit shepherd's pie sounded good, but ended up having that sweet edge that just didn't seem right. Mains came out of the kitchen before we finished our apps. In general, not a place we're eager to return to.
Service was spotty at best. Took 10 minutes to be asked if we wanted water or a drink. 10 minutes after ordering our drinks and food at the same time, the table next to us was seated and informed of the special for the evening. I had asked our waitress prior to our order if there were any specials this evening and she stated no. We felt a bit like second class citizens. Setting is beautiful, but I wish it was still SODO. Much better service for the customers.
This is one of my go-to places. Friendly & open to special orders. Kale salad and dressing are great. Fine soups, sandwiches, and grilled protein. I've a number of food allergies and this is not a problem.
Love this place! Never had a bad meal here. Staff is very accommodating to your personal or special needs.
Amazing food and service! Wish we lived in Reno to have this more often!!!
Our waitress was wonderful. Saturday at noon is very quiet.
It's been under new ownership and the few times I've been there the food has been consistently awesome. I love the unique menu.
Graduation party
Great food, great service and great for a large group.
