Society used to be a great place to get some good food and drinks and hang out in a cool environment. Maybe it got too big for its britches? But it has gone downhill. The drinks were either way to sweet or completely flavourless, the menu was lacklustre at best and when the food came it was also way to sweet/salty or bland. It was all basically pub food but not as greasy. The only thing I would recommend would be the truffle Mac and cheese but you can get that so many other places without going there and dealing with obnoxious crowds.

The food was good! I might go back again for the food but the service was not as great as I have expected. Our server was good but she is never there when we need her. There was also other people that helped us but they looked confused and got us thinking if they understood what we wanted.

I have been to society in the past and hosted events here as wel. This time I was greatly disappointed. From the moment we walked in the door until we walked out it was a bad experience. I did let the manager on duty know about outer ad experiences with the hostess, after hearing half of what I had to say he said he was going to change the experience. Although he had our food brought out right away and it was correct he also decided to be our servers and ended up only stopping at the table when we caught his attention on the way to the kitchen. The food was good but the service put a damper on this birthday celebration.

I've been here several times over the years. The ambiance is still the same, the menu still the same, but the food quality and quantity had definitely changed and not for the better. The noice level was unacceptable to me. I came to catch up with some girlfriends and found myself needing to scream across the table. We were at a restaurant on a Thursday, not a club on a Saturday night.

We've been to Society a few times in the last couple of years and my family from out of town absolutely insists we go whenever they visit. However, our last visit will likely be our last... The new menu has removed all but every item that was original and that kept us coming back.. The quality of the food we did order pales in comparison to the meals we've had there in the past. The food was over salted, greasy, and lacked any culinary interest. The desserts did not fail to disappoint either. In addition, the blaring music made it impossible to hold a conversation.

My husband and I went here after dining at other Glowbal restaurants. The menu is more kid and teenager friendly. I would suggest going to this place as a special treat for kids with their cotton candy martini (a martini glass full of pink fluffy cotton candy). Overall as people not in their targeted demographic we found the food okay and service okay. It was odd that we didn't appear to have one server, it seemed each interaction we had was with a new staff member but they were all pleasant. Only thing I would say was off was the wait time for the drinks. We were seated facing the bar and saw all the staff talking but our two simple drinks (a glass of wine and a gin and tonic) took much longer than it should have.

Everything was fantastic!! The Candy Collins drink (alcoholic beverage) -- highly recommend it if u like cotton candy. The food was flavorful (I had the salmon and my friend had the Philly cheesesteak) and a good portion. The menu has something for everyone. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back here again (especially on the day when the entire food menu is 50% off...call to find out the day). This is a great restaurant. 👍

Society needs to advise OT members clearly, and in advance of booking, that reservations do not earn the usual 100 points. We enjoyed the dining but this sure puts a sore after taste to the whole experience.

Jesse was absolutely wonderful. This is the first time we have been to the Society and went there to celebrate my wife's birthday with my two young children. All of the staff was wonderful but Jesse went the extra mile with her service, smile, and to top it off, a complimentary cotton candy for my kids who thought they were in heaven. I didn't know what to expect as this is not the type of place we typically go to with two kids but were pleasantly surprised. And, the food was terrific! We'll be back.

We booked Society for the atmosphere and late night dessert menu. The place was fun and lively which is what we wanted. We ordered the dessert platter, which we were all disappointed with. Nothing on the platter besides the chocolate cake was really that great. That's why I gave it just a good rating. I would not order that again. however, the drinks, appetizer and milkshakes were really great. The place itself is fun and great for a youngish group, for a late night snack.

I went for valentines day. The noise level was ridiculously loud, I could barely hear myself think. I had to lean forward and yell across the table to talk to my boyfriend. Not very romantic. The food wasn't bad. It was very cold inside the restaurant. It was nice of then to hold my reservation as I was 10 minutes late.

I would describe the decor at Society as modern, cozy, and a bit quirky, which is great. A friend cautioned me that the noise level was pretty loud, but it wasn't unbearable. Unfortunately I found the food a bit inconsistent, ranging from pretty darn good to only so-so. I came here for Dine Out Vancouver, so the pricing was decent, but for what they were charging on the regular menu, I would hope the food was a bit better. Overall, I'd say this is a good place to start for someone just starting to explore the dining scene in Vancouver. Its modern, energetic, and shows the potential for how good food in Vancouver can be, without breaking the bank.

Was happy with the food - every course was delicious (loved the lobster sheppard's pie). Our service was very slow. Long wait between the starter and main (wasn't paced very well), plus one of our mains was missed, however the server/manager made up for it with a comp drink. Overall good experience.

Nothing wrong with menu, staff or decor and I am a HUGE fan of Glowbal Co. restaurants. The music was so deafening inside (we did not want the terrace) we could not communicate with each other or our server. We went somewhere nearby where the music was at a tolerably loud level. ALL restaurants here think that music played loud creates ambience and forget asking them to turn it down. That makes me an old fogey and I am, but I don't go to a restaurant for the soundtrack. Rating for food & service should be "n/a", because we did not eat there. I know the quality of Glowbal Co. food, so I am sure the food there is great. In spite of our negative reaction, staff remained gracious and at least pretended to show understanding for our complaint.

Not usually a person to write bad reviews but this was a true lacklustre experience. Overbooked, understaffed forgetting to serve drinks, refill water and wrong dessert. They did the basics right but some of the food lacked favoured or too salty. Disappointing for the cost and planned menu.

We tried Society. The ambiance is gorgeous, the staff are helpful, the drinks are weak and the menu is dismal. Just order the non-alcohol versions of drinks, it will save you money and give the same effect. Between the 3 diners, we had truffled mac and cheese served with a green salad and french fries. The sweat burger was so sloppy to eat and the pulled pork so flavorless, un edible. Shrimp quesadilla was average and served with potato chips. The milkshake drinks were fun and tasty. I understand that I am not their target audience, but who did they have in mind when they put chicken wings in cocacola. Go to society to try the cotton candy drink or a milkshake.

Being a part of the Glowbal Group, Society had to had some fanciness. And it did! But because of its ambience, setting, and food menu, it is also great for a casual walk-in. If ever you're out already with a casual attire, Society is one of those semi-fancy, yet non-intimidating restaurants that can make anyone fit in and feel comfortable.

Went here with friends looking for a place with good appetizers and a good place to catch up with my fellow nurses. Found the atmosphere to be great for our age category (22-28). Food was great, our server was outstanding. He ensured everything we needed was there and checked on our drinks frequently. My only not so positive comment is we found the music to be a bit loud for a Tuesday evening. It was a bit hard to conversate however the rest of my visit was superb like always! I frequently travel from Surrey to Van and often go to glowbal group places and they never disappoint! Thank u!

I came here casually on a surprisingly quiet Sunday with friends. When the food arrived (I ordered the Mac and Cheese with potato and truffle gratin) , I was a bit disappointed by the portions, but ended up being quite full. The salad was a bit odd because it came directly on a wood board, so that did not allow them to put salad dressing on it, making it a bit dry. I also ordered a long island with a cotton candy top which was cute and I enjoyed the novelty of the drink. Sadly enough, the waiters didn't read the reservation to know it was my birthday and when we ordered desert, they served the candled cake to my friend. :/ The triple chocolate cake was very decadent and a bit on the rich side so you couldn't eat too much at a time.

Drinks took 20+ mins to arrive including the waters. btw mojitos are subpar. I'm a huge fan of the meatballs (despite it not really being "kobe") at all glowbal group restaurants...which to be honest is why I'm even giving the food rating 2*. This time however the meatballs were cold...I thought it may have been the ricotta cheese they infused this time but no, the meat was cold also. Drinks round 2: server spills entire drink on me. Not a big deal it happens. However, courtesy would be to comp the drink if nothing else (I've been comp'd for far less than a spilled drink mind you). Not common practice at Society apparantly In sum, although it was a 50% off food night who knew it meant 50% off quality of beverages, food and....service!!?!
