Amazing food, as well as amazing service. The place is beautiful & the service is wonderful, you feel welcomed and wanted
Enjoyed dinner at Sociale with friends from out of town. Food was excellent, though the portions were small.
The restaurant was busy with a limited number of wait staff so service was a bit slower than usual.
Date night. Good food but pretty terrible service. Had to ask a few times to get our soda and pepper for the pastas.
Bad dinner
Fish way over cooked
Not even sure it was the fish represented
Delicious food and attentive service, the handmade pastas are spot-on! Had the Carbonara and Verdure, both had very layered flavors, full of umami, almost addictive. Tuna app fresh and filling. Was there a bread charge? If so, not great for the minuscule super-mini buns (1” in diameter). Bread is not necessary, but if you are going to serve it, it should be more substantial, especially if there is a charge. Desserts looked lovely but stuffed so did not order. Overall, a great dining experience, but slightly pricey for regular casual dining.
Went here for lunch on a blind date and the atmosphere was low-key and professional, which was perfect. The food was quite good (and way better than average for Brooklyn Heights, which has a dearth of decent sit-down lunch places). I had the Pollo Caprese sandwich and my date had the Tuna Salad. My sandwich was fresh and very tasty, and my friend said that her salad was particularly good. I will be back.
Just celebrated my birthday as Sociale with 8 friends. The staff was delightful and so so kind. They kept the wine coming, made excellent suggestions and stayed on the ball with out table of nine without missing a beat. The ambiance was great for our big group and the food was delicious (I had the spaghetti bolognese and crispy green beans, but the scallops were delicious, as was the burrata and asparagus)! I'd never been here, but walked by it a million times. Next time you are walking by, don't. Go inside and treat yourself!!
Thank you Rodrigo!
Our go-to place for Italian in the Heights
The owner/manager is passionate in every aspect to make your dining experience very special from the time your seated until you leave. The food is fresh, delicious & very simple yet creative. The ambiance is perfect. I had a desert that included lemon, angel food cake & almonds that was the lightest most decadent desert I had ever had anywhere! A gem that can’t be missed in a beautiful neighborhood in Brooklyn Heights in the shadows of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Food was well prepared and flavors were innovative
This is our neighborhood restaurant. We came to celebrate my wife's birthday and had a reservation for 8:30. The party before us took a while to leave their table, so we were seated at 9. Normally, I'd be very annoyed with this but the host was very apologetic and picked up the tab for the cocktails we had while we waited for our table. Very gracious. They even put out a cake and candle for my wife's birthday and sang "Happy . Birthday". Couldn't really ask for more from a neighborhood restaurant with very high quality food.
Horrible experience. My friend was served a scallops entree with nuts all over it after she clearly said “I am allergic to nuts” when ordering. Server and owner took no responsibility. Offered to comp our 4 total drinks and that’s it. We walked out and will never return.
The ambiance was great and service was good, but the portions were very small, food was average, and it was very overpriced. Will not go back. Far too many better options in the neighborhood.
Got the drinks wrong, lasagna was dry. Wasn't great.
Birthday celebration, very kindly brought dessert with a candle. On the check the chef comped dessert - very nicely done.
As always, service, food and wine were excellent. Consistently one of my favorite places to take people visiting from out of town.
Love this place! From start to finish simply amazing. Very friendly staff that provide excellent service: full menu knowledge and very happy to provide you a wonderful experience. The food also, speaks for itself! Def try the short rib
Very accomodating. We did not ask for an outdoor table in advance but they were able to adjust and moved us when a table became available. ! Food was very good and reasonably priced wine list. Very nice evening.
Courteous staff and good food. A little noisy, but after a few drinks you hardly notice. Good desserts. Would go back. However, I'm not willing to pay $10 for a few pieces of garlic bread.
Father’s Day get together
Great authentic Italian meal. Excellent service staff. Don't let the $3 charge for additional bread give you pause. It's worth stop. Friendly staff and delicious food. We had the octopus, calamari, bronzino and salmon, all delicious! Next time we plan to try the pasta dishes.
Open and very hip restaurant. Food and service was very good. Good outdoor dining.
We arrived early and they were able to accommodate us, and we got a table outside, which was great. But the food was a bit bland for my liking. I recommend it if you're in the neighborhood, but it's not worth traveling for.
This was a great location in Brooklyn Heights and a great sit down after hours of walking.
We ordered pasta and salads. We did wait quite a bit for the starter salads .... I had to ask for some bread and butter while waiting. That was additional cost, fyi. Lovely outdoor seating as well but it was too sunny for us.
We were encouraged to try Sociale on a recent trip to Brooklyn. We had a lovely experience. Loved the branzino with fried Brussels sprouts. So delicious! Sitting outside at your restaurant made me seriously consider a move to Brooklyn!
I WAS NOT CREDITED 100 POINTS FOR THIS RESERVATION ??
Thank you- Roseann Lefkowitz
Superb food! Look no further for a well-balanced menu and a kitchen that executes with precision and love; clean and fresh flavors; pasta cooked to perfection; veal Milanese special to die for (!); succulent fish and inspired desserts. Plus, attentive, friendly service in a room that is equally romantic and congenial. A stand-out in the Heights. Don’t sleep on Sociale!!
Every dish was excellent, service was fantastic and ambience was perfect.
Excellent meal and I liked that we could go down the street to have a drink while we waited... AND when it started to rain they moved us inside immediately. Very impressed with the level of service. I’d highly recommend to friends.
We were really disappointed with the food at Sociale, the service was really good, the staff was really attentive and nice.
Lasagna was the worst lasagna I’ve ever had; it was a block of dry pasta with very little meat or sauce and the appetizer, (frutti di mate), was so high in fat, it gave me indigestión.😔
I've lived in BK Heights for years and had not tried Sociale until this weekend for brunch. We booked it because it was the only place that had available seating for our 7 person group. Now I see why it is always empty. Right before that brunch, I happened to get engaged. My friends were energized and excited to see me. The restaurant was loud. We were asked to quiet down pretty rudely by who I assume was the manager. No tact. Our waiter forgot two of our dishes. Did not apologize just stated "I didn't put you orders in". I know when I am being loud and this was not the case. It was an enthusiastic greeting of friends celebrating a major life event. We spent over 400 dollars and were treated like trash. The manager has a major attitude problem. There are so many better places I would recommend someone go. It's too bad because we live down the street and the food was not bad - major service problems. Pick another place for your brunch.
We go there all the time. Why? Because they are excellent on all fronts: service, food, atmosphere. And, Signor Nuccitelli, the owner, is a super gentleman who knows how to make it all a success. And.........he hires the best waiters ever. They're friendly, thoughtful, and spot on!!!
Three of four dishes were good. Worst lasagne I have had in a restaurant. Like a block of firm pasta with limited sauce or flavor, and unsurprisingly it wasn't hot because it was so dense.
There is nothing but excellence at Sociale!
This time there were 3 of us. Cocktails and apps to start, then a lovely bottle of red wine + entrees + desert. Every plate was clean!
Best neighborhood gem ever!!
We eat here every time we stay in Brooklyn the food is excellent and consistently good. Also one of the few restaurants that always has more than one fish entree on their menu. Martinis are done to perfection.
Thoughtful, fresh, creative and well prepared. Menu isn't extensive, but touches all the bases. Pasta made in house and fantastic. Staff is attentive and knowledgably. Space is intimate with several outdoor tables as well.
Food was great, but they need to play different music
Cocktails really need revisiting - so unbalanced and poorly mixed. Look pretty, taste like a cheap margarita.
Chick peas w the burrata were dry and a little off
Spaghetti with tomato sauce is a staple but this was so unbelievably salty I ate three bites as gave up.
Nice spot but I expected much more especially at the price.
Love this place and Rodrigo!
