Social Vinings is an international restaurant located in the Vinings area northwest of downtown Atlanta. It has a large bar area in the first section of the restaurant that serves fully loaded cocktails, red and white wines, beer bottles and sake. The dining area is casual, yet classy. There is a lively buzz from the tables around you that creates a cheerful vibe inside this restaurant. This is a good place to go for anything from a business meeting to a family reunion.
The menu at Social Vinings has an unusual variety of foods. Along with fantastic steaks, sandwiches, roasted chicken, pork chops and crab cakes there is also a full sushi bar with sashimi and nigiri dishes as well. If you have the time after your main course, try Social Vining's most popular dessert, Oreo Beignets (fried Oreos) with vanilla ice cream.
Had a reservation for this restaurant and it was not open when we got there. Very disappointed with this and how opentable didn't allow for additional reservations to be made when this one couldn't be honored. Ruined my NYE
The server dropped a drink trey and dropped the F bomb in front of my kids - not cool. Employees all had attitudes - I've given this place several chances but it's always the same - just okay food and service and a kitchen that is lacking
Food and service were great. Atmosphere was fantatic with the live music and bustling bar area. They have separate dining area if you still want to see and hear the music, but not be right next to it. Will be back.
I have been here several times and enjoyed the food and service. This time the food was spotty. The service was not poor but the server looked as if he could care less whether or not we were there and only became friendly at the end of the meal when he gave us the check. Since I have enjoyed this place in the past I will go again but not if the service was the same. There are too many other restaurants in the same price range to visit and they appreciate our business.
Service could have been better but we frequent this spot regularly.
Love the sushi.
I was very disappointed when I visited Social Vinings this time. It had been about a year since my last visit. It is not the same place that it was. The nice lounge area near the front has been turned into a bar...the bulk of the restaurant in really one gigantic bar. Perhaps this meets the current need, but it was a big turnoff for me and my guest who was there for the first time based on my recommendation. She ordered the pot pie...said it was just awful! Too bready and not at all what she expected. She ended up eating a part of the flatbread that I ordered. We told the server and he indicated that he "should have shared" that this dish was not a typical pot pie. I paid the check for both of us because I was so embarrassed to have her pay for something that she did not like. Based on this experience, I will not return to Social Vinings and will not recommend it to people who highly consider my dining recommendations.
Went there for Thanksgiving brunch and we were impressed. We'll definitely be back! Soon!
Our server Chloé recommended the pork chop entrée with braised kale, and macaroni fritters. All I can say is Awesome! Everything was cooked to perfection. They didn't skimp on the most important part of my cosmo...the alcohol. I will definitely be returning. It was a great girls night out!
We always enjoy our food at Social Vinings. It' s often good, but not great! We enjoy the experience, but the food is not always the best! I had sushi and my wife fish. We enjoyed the both, but it was not great! Just OK!
Awesome! Great Friday night spot. Good food.
Although the ambiance and service were both was good, unfortunately the food didn't measure up to the initial promise. My friend ordered a trio of rather pricey sides (risotto, house salad, and carrots). While she gave a thumbs up to the risotto, the carrots were overcooked, and she didn't eat most of the salad. I had a spicy tuna roll and a 2-piece order of hamachi nigiri, which turned out to be some of the worst tasting sushi I've ever eaten. The check was pricey given the quality of the food. As we were saying goodbye, we both agreed we wouldn't be returning.
We had a great waitress.
Our service was fantastic! He had the bar personally stuff me blue cheese olives for my martini. The sushi we ordered for an appetizer was very good. Our dinner was just okay, everything had a burnt grill flavor. We will definitely be back again, will probably just eat sushi though.
We had sushi and it was good considering this isn't a Japanese restaurant. The service was spotty. Had to wait several minutes before out waitress appeared.
Been here many times now for lunches, dinners and drinks after work on the patio. Today had brunch for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I'll be back for brunch again!
We always order the volcano and super crunchee rolls and always delicious! Edward, our server, was of course one of the best!
I had a friend come in from town who I wanted to show a good time on a Saturday night. I had eaten at Social before and remembered the atmosphere being lively. However, this time it was particularly dull...hardly any people. I was disappointed and will not bring a friend from out of town to Social Vinings again.
Had a business dinner with folks from China. Everyone commented on how good the food was. Service was very good too. Easy parking, easy to get to, overall a great experience.
Social Vinings was a great experience. It came highly recommended and I'm extremely happy I chose the establishment for my Friday night outing. I dined with a couple of my closest friends and it was absolutely delicious. We all three ate off the sushi menu and I can't express enough how fresh it all tasted. (You should definitely try any of there specialty rolls!) The service also gets a thumbs up! Our hostess and waiter were very friendly and knowledgeable and made the overall experience incredibly enjoyable. I will absolutely visit Social Vinings again and recommended you do the same!
Very wide assortment of high quality food on the Sunday Brunch buffet. The food was excellent and the service was good so I would definitely return again. The cook to order omelets and French toast were outstanding.
Always great value and good quality.
I love Social Vinings. The Sunday Brunch is excellent. I would highly recommend this place.
The waiter really had no interest in serving; one could tell he did not want to be there. The brougt out the main course while we were still eating the appetizer. The valet could not even crant my car as he locked the steering wheel--no apology, I had to wak through the parking deck to get the car. This was disappointing as it is in my neighborhood. The food was ok--but that was all.
I was looking for a last minute reservation and came across this place. I'm glad I did. It looked lovely on the inside and had a nice vibe. My boyfriend and I ordered drinks first and they were strong, whick is always good. Our food was good as well. I got steak and he got salmon. We will definitely be coming back. It is a little pricey though.
Like the location and the ambience, my salmon salad was just OK. The ingredients were not mixed together. The salmon was very good, and cooked just right. I asked for the vinaigrette and I got mostly oil. I did ask for additional vinegar. If they put a great dressing on it, it will be very good.
Love this place the sushi is awesome and is a nice place for girls night out
Decent bar scene, always have music and solid food. Nothing stellar but a nice place to grab a drink.
The service was very disappointing. They were not prepare for the Mother's Day crowd.
Service was slow but the food was great and so were the specials.
We came to celebrate an 80's themed party and the entire staff at Social Vinings went along with everything. They were courteous, helpful and gracious! Special thanks to our waiter with the dreads who was also celebrating his birthday, he was GREAT and manager Justin and ONke , I probably spelt her name wrong. They made our stay really enjoyable👏👏👏😃😃😃🎉🎉🎉
Restaurant and food are excellent. The parking is a real problem.
I took my aunt here for Easter brunch buffet. The buffet selections were outstanding and one of a kind as always! I surely went back for seconds and thirds. The environment was clean and nice for a spring day. I'm not sure what purpose our waiter served other than refilling our water glasses. My one annoyance was the premium added to our bill because it was "Easter Sunday". It would have been nice if our waiter had informed of us this BEFORE our meal. Nonetheless a wonderful experience.
This was my 2nd time there for brunch. The buffet offers an awesome choice of food but setting it up in front of the bar is a bad idea. Most of the food was warm-cold. Service was good, atmosphere is very nice. Bloody Mary was awesome, Mimosa's as well, until shift change, Mimosa's were just mostly orange juice.
Booked reservations for Valentines day. We were eager to enjoy some premium dining, Unfortunately, the food was extremely sub-standard. We could have enjoyed better food at Long Horn for half the price. I am NOT a picky diner. I am easy to please.
We ordered scallops for an appetizer. Delicious. I think there were 4 quarter sized slices served on a plate....fifteen bucks. Really? (Ok, looking forward to the entree, don't ruin the mood.)
She ordered the filet/lobster. The lobster tail was tough and lacked flavor. The kind you expect at a company party....you know that cheap "rock lobster" taste? The filet was equally uninspiring. Very small, and it tasted just ok...its filet after all. Yes, we ordered it medium rare. I've prepared more flavorful sirloin at home before, and I'm no chef. Had to be a discount cut. The mashed potatoes were very good. That potatoes were the high point. Disappointing for a $36 plate.
I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass over beans. I wasn't sure what to expect, but sea bass is one of the sweetest, most delicious fish, so it had to be awesome right? No. It came served in a large soup bowl with a piece of fish plopped in the middle of what looked, smelled, and tasted, like Campbell's bean/bacon soup. When I strained try to taste the fish over the overpowering flavor of the beans, it tasted like Tilapia. $36. Sent it back.
Anxious now, ballet at 8, I ordered the Valentine's special with filet/grilled shrimp...this filet was a little better than my wife's, but at this point I was in chew and swallow mode, and not wanting to spoil the evening with a rant. The shrimp was seasoned well, but of course it was dry.
Dessert was very good...ordered chef's sampler.
I thought highly of the service. Very prompt and professional, although it was off-putting to be ordering a $150 "romantic" meal for two from a guy in blue jeans. His professional demeanor made up for it.
Atmosphere was very pleasant and comfortable.
Not bad...not great...painfully average. I don't need to rush back.
Which would have been would have been flattering if I hadn't left my purse and id at the hotel. Given that I easily had 20 yrs on the server, it was more than a little annoying. He made no attempt at rectifying the situation by offering to get a manager, and eventually my husband went to find one himself. So after finally getting a beverage, we ordered our dinner. Our server was otherwise polite and professional. While enjoying our app (which was quite good, our mains were brought out, this is a huge peeve for me, especially given the size of the table we were at. The filet was excellent but the garlic mash was unapproachabley salty and the asparagus was prepared by someone who clearly harbors a deep seeded hatred for vegetables. The desserts were meh. From what we could see, this seems like a trendy place to go for a drink, but make sure you bring id.
Sunday evenings are quiet and the food was great. Our server did an excellent job to make the overall experience very pleasant. And I love the wall covered in cork screws.
We again tried Social Vinings and enjoyed being there. My wife had a piece of fish and it was fine. Would not say it's a great piece of fish, but it was fine. My sushi was OK, Not sure that SV is the best at doing sushi, but I'll try something different next time.
We dined in the back room so it would be quieter than the bar since we wanted to talk. There were very few customers, yet the waiter was not very attentive. The food was fine and the noise level was low so we were able to talk comfortably.
Food was just ok. I don't get how we get cold waffles straight from the kitchen... Twice. Grits were pretty good though.
