Social Still Ratings and Reviews
Social Still is located in an old bank building with the vault still in it. It’s very clever how they’ve utilized this building. It’s a lively crowd, which is great, but it does make for a high volume of noise with music playing over everybody. The service is very good; everyone is knowledgeable about food and drink. Especially the drinks as they make their own spirits. As with most places like this the food is interesting and made from local ingredients. It’s a bit pricey, especially the alcohol as it’s distilled there. I would definitely recommend this to others who like to find little gems and the atmosphere they produce.
Went for dinner with friends. Even though the place was busy, Andrea, the manager, came to our table and spent a good bit of time giving us the history of the building and told us to seek her out for a tour when we finished dinner. We each ordered something different and the food arrived in a timely fashion and we all cleaned our plates. The soup special, a creamy crab, was the best I've had in a long time and reminded me of some of the great soups of Maryland. Pair this with a flight of house made spirits and this was a supper night. The mini tour at the end of our dinner was an added bonus on and otherwise perfect evening.
So this wasn't a good experience even though all the reviews were positive. The place was nice but something was off and it wasn't the servers fault. The pace is just really slow, 25 minutes for our first drink. Our reservation was at 5pm, place was pretty empty. We had appetizers but then decided to kind of give up when no one came back to see if we wanted anything else. So we are thinking about a second chance but honestly with all the great local choices not sure we will. I will say regulars and those interested in the flights get a lot of attention. This is written As an awareness point for management.. it is a cool place😊
We were very excited to try this restaurant! What a great design inside. It really shows off the old bank designs. The cocktails were exceptional! I had the Social Gimlet and it was very good. My husband had the Old Fashioned and he said that it was the best he ever had out. The tacos needed some additional seasoning or sauce, so we asked the server to bring us some seasoned mayo. The Portabella Bruchetta appetizer was very good but a bit disorganized on the plate. The burger was amazing with the best char on the outside. I can also recommend the Chopped Salad which was very well dressed and the tomatoes added a wonderful kick of flavor. Overall, I will try this restaurant again as it is promising!
We shared the cheese and meat tray which was very good! The pork schnitzel was terrible! We added a side of mashed potatoes that were overdone w/ salt.
It had a funny flavor that I did not care for at all. Was it raisin juice???, Terrible flavor and I love just about everything. This was our second visit. The first visit was great.
We usually go to The Social Still for drinks and small plates, but this time decided to meet friends for dinner. The food was amazing and honestly I’m not sure there is a better place to get cocktails in town. I highly recommend the old fashion with the house made bourbon. All the spirits are made in house and I haven’t had a bad one yet. It’s a great ambiance , some may say it can get a little loud at night, but I like to think of it more as energetic. The Social Still is a very unique find on the south side!
We had a great date night. Sat upstairs which was much quieter than downstairs. Crab cake was out of this world, and the steak was amazing. Server was super very personable made us feel very welcome. Hand crafted drinks were so good, hard to just have one. The only thing I'd suggest is to have staff be more uniform, couldn't really tell who was staff and who were guests... But I can't wait to come back
I read the reviews and booked for Parents Weekend at Lehigh University. It was fantastic!!! The creative drinks, food, and service was phenomenal! The staff and manager stopped to asked how everything was going took the time to explain the whole concept of Social Still. Can't wait to go back!
We had a reservation for 8 pm we arrived at 7:35 and were told our table wasn't quite ready yet it would be another 15 mins. Which was ok since we arrived early. At 7:58 I asked how long our table was going to be and was told 20 more minutes when I told them we had a reservation we were seated right away but if I didn't ask how long our table was going to be we could have been waiting quite a while because the first hostess I spoke to forgot about us. Apon being seated the dining room was extremely loud and made it impossible to hear our server let alone have a conversation with our friends.
We ordered 2 appetizers which were ok nothing to write home about. My friend and I ordered a drink mine was horrible and I didnt drink it and not once did our server ask if there was anything wrong. I don't think we will be returning
The waitresses were not friendly at all! I️ mean smile honey at those prices your guaranteed at least a 200 night in tips! Not to mention they very pushy!! They were taking plates before we even finished the food!! We spent a lot of money that night and didn’t finish appetizers because she swooped them away and we ordered 5 appetizers for 6 people it was getting eaten. I’m sorry if there is food on a plate you ask. Rude rude. Train your waitresses to be friendly and to let people eat instead of swarming us like vultures to get us out. What a shame. Don’t think I’ll be back.
Social Still does it again with their unique twists on pub staples! At first glance, Social Still has an upscale menu with drinks to match, but after a closer look, you uncover some delicious, gourmet pub grub at affordable prices.
We started with the Bourbon Fondue, which is served with a giant pretzel covered in everything bagel spices. It was thicker than a traditional cheese sauce, but that helped the cheese cling to the delicious pretzel. Two of us split it and it nearly filled us up before dinner entrees arrived. For the main course, my girlfriend and I opted for two different burgers on the menu, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. They're easily some of the best gourmet burgers in the Lehigh Valley and the price is hard to beat ($12-$15 for large patties with unique ingredients and a heaping pile of fries on the side). Our only complaint is that both burgers were uncooked, borderline raw, but I would much prefer that to overcooked. The service was solid, but not over the top, and we were attended to consistently throughout our meal.
Definitely check out Social Still for their unique drinks & spirits, as well as the wide variety of entrees!
I’ve been to Social Still a few times. Their menu has really improved and expanded over the years. I’ve only had 1 bad experience where the food was cold and the waitress seemed to be mad that we complained. Otherwise the food and service have always been very good.
The food was amazing!!! I ordered the calamari appetizer and salmon entree. The calamari was amazing, it was mixed in a sauce and served over arugula and fried jalapenos...perfect combination. The salmon was cooked to perfection and served over a delicious sauce. I was very impressed with the food but not so much with the cocktails.
Excellent evening at Social Still! Dinner for 6 was flawless, shared a bunch of small plates all were excellent - Calamari, Scallops, Bruschetta and Mussels. Large plates were even better- we shared the Salmon, Schnitzel, Denver Steak and Short Rib tacos again all perfect! Liquor flights were very reasonable and their cocktails were awesome. Waitress and bartenders were great, had plenty of suggestions and never steared us wrong. Ate and drank like kings for 3 hours for a very reasonable price. Looking forward to going back
