Soby's She Crab Soup
SO GOOD! It felt amazing to dress up and go to a restaurant to eat. My family and I devoured every bite and haven’t stop talking about it for days now. Our server Kyle was awesome! I’d recommend Sobys to anyone!
Outstanding service, food and atmosphere! Can’t wait to dine here again.
This was a special evening for our son’s Clemson ring ceremony. We’ve eaten at Soby’s several times and it’s always an outstanding experience. Food, drinks, atmosphere and service is impeccable! We love it!
Had a terrific meal at Soby's. Our serve was excellent and we received our food in a very timely manner. We ordered appetizers and entree's and they were spaced out perfectly so that you didn't feel like it was a race! The Bacon wrapped Pork Tenderloin was delicious as was the Crab Cakes. The Creole Chicken Pasta was pretty good but could have been a bit hotter and had more chicken. The taste was really good just lacking the meat and temperature I would have liked to see. Fried green tomatoes and short rib mac n cheese were both delicious apps. Would definitely go back!
Our server Julie was fabulous along with our dinner and choice of wine. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.
Good food, family atmosphere. The beef shank is AMAZING.
Food was good! Chicken excellent. The service was okay seemed a little unorganized. I would go back .
The atmosphere was awesome the staff was friendly and very helpful. The crab-cakes were very good, However the mashed potatoes with the crabcakes and with the short ribs leave a little bit to be desired. We would go back and are looking forward to it on our next trip.
The setting is lovely but we were disappointed in the food. The cheese biscuits were dry and bland, the fried chicken was dry, and the BBQ sauce that came with the short ribs tasted like it came from a jar. The mac & cheese short ribs were also bland.
On the plus side, the vegetable sides were properly cooked, as was the filet, which was perfectly done. The bisque was good.
We took my parents here for the first time and we were so disappointed. Soby’s might be fine for drinks in a great location, but we won’t be back to eat.
Great food. Very attentive server.
Great food! Almost everything we ordered was delicious! Highlights were the fried green tomatoes and pork tenderloin.
The wine section was quite varied and had some great selections. The atmosphere matches the menu and I especially love the ceilings and sense of history you get from the walk to the restroom. I also enjoyed the view of the main expo line so I could watch the kitchen work as we ate.
As for service, Lynette was pleasant and professional. She was patient with our questions and made us feel at home. My one note is that I feel the teamwork between the staff could be a bit stronger, but they all did seem fairly busy. I would just ask that they would keep their eyes open as they walk about the dining room. Lynette did a wonderful job of maintaining a clean table, but I gave her my new fork accidentally. I shouldn’t have had to watch so many teammates walk by when our party was looking out for assistance. There was one gentleman bussing tables that was very hospitable and made sure I noticed the pillows in the booth. Also, I would expect a restaurant of this pedigree to at least mention a special occasion I had made in the reservation notes. A simple congratulations from the host stand or mention from any member of staff would have been a sweet touch. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I will certainly consider dining again next time I’m in Greenville.
I love Soby’s! I haven’t been to the area to be able to go in 7 years and the food is just as perfect as it’s always been!
We drive an hour and a half to dine with you and it is always a pleasure! Our server and overall service was exceptional! I enjoyed a pork chop special with Apple chutney and my husband chose the pork tenderloin which was equally superb! The only slight mishaps were no whip cream for the key lime pie for dessert (which is an essential part of that dessert AND we asked for extra due to my husband certainly enjoys dessert) so therefore we did not have the key lime. Second was I also ordered a cappuccino and unfortunately the machine was on the brink. Aside from those few snafus the meals and cocktails were lovely.
Always an outstanding dinner at Sobys! Service was terrific and the food was on point! I've brought friends her for years: date nights, group dinners or just a quiet dinner with friends - it is always a good choice.
Great experience! Kinda of wished our table wasn’t right next to the kitchen as this was a first date, but our server was delightful and engaging. Will certainly return!
Our server was AMAZING!!! We were very impressed. We had a person in out party with special dietary needs and they were wonderful about accommodating. We also had a birthday in our group and they did a great job helping to celebrate. The food was fantastic!!! Will be dinning again next time we're in Greenville!
Great food and customer service! Soby’s is our go-to place downtown.
Good choice, interesting menu although somewhat limited. Cocktails and drinks are fairly priced. Desserts limited but of quality. The server we had was excellent, friendly without hovering or being overbearing.
All in all a great night a great restaurant. A restaurant we've been going to since it opened in the late '90s. Better than ever, we will be back.
Something was off as Soby's has been my go-to favorite in downtown Greenville for years. Food was mediocre at best and arrived at the table cold. Service was not attentive and had to be requested several times. DB
We ate brunch here and it was fabulous. The fried green tomato eggs benedict was amazing!
Soby’s is a very popular restaurant with a high energy vibe & menu of southern dishes. Waiter was super friendly & prices reasonable.
I usually enjoy Soby’s but the food was terribly under seasoned the last few times.
Fried green tomatoes are always a good start. My filet was prepared to my liking and very flavorful and tender. Added touches for our anniversary dinner were classy and appreciated. The food and drinks were just what we have come to expect from Soby's, excellent.
Great experience! Our server was fantastic 😊
The food was excellent. It is quality, delicious, perfectly cooked food. We were quite surprised and will definitely be back! It is a bit pricy, but worth it for a great meal and dining experience.
A wonderful experience for our anniversary. The food we ordered was wonderful, and we received some nice treats from the chef!

Great consistent food
excellent...our favorite restaurant in Greenville.
Awesome service, food quality, and selections.
Service was excellent! Everything she recommended was delicious and she was a joy to chat with.
I made this reservation for my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary. They said the staff treated them so great. Offered complementary champagne. Other staff came by and wish them a happy anniversary. They said the food was amazing and the whole experience was great
Soby’s is a family favorite. With all of the new restaurants popping up all around, we still make time for Soby’s.
Amazing place...everytime I go there! Had a great experience exposing some of my family members to Soby's! We will certainly be back!
One of my favorite restaurants if all time! Amazing food, service and ambiance. Our server went above and beyond!
Our dinner was delicious, especially the brussell sprouts appetizer. The staff was attentive very helpful.
Everything was a 10!!! Don’t miss out on this one..she crab soup, fried chicken w Mac n cheese, crab cakes and shrimp w grits... all were over the top delicious!!
We had a resident candidate interviewing for a acuity position. Sobys was the perfect spot, everyone enjoyed their meal and had a great time
Always love Soby's. Love taking our out of town guests to Soby's. Menu is always easy for everyone to find great selections.
I enjoyed the roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. They were perfect, almost charred on the outside and still firm inside with just a touch of sweetness and salt. The crab cake entree was excellent in that it was moist with just a touch of crunch on the outside. The mashed potatoes and green beans were also very good. My wife had fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and then shrimp and grits, both of which were excellent.
Sobys is a great all around venue with delicious food and a huge wine list. Highly recommend.
