Consistently great food. Never had a bad meal. Highly recommend this place. Just wish they would bring back their key lime pie. Best ever!
Soby's staff is so wonderful and accommodating. We came for my husband's birthday and it was the best date we have had in a while! I am gluten free, and I sent an email beforehand to inquire about their gluten free menu. They answered all of my questions and sent the menu to my email, and they even had it on hand ready when we walked in the door for our reservation. Lynette was our server and she was so fun, knowledgeable, and polite. We had a wonderful time and we will definitely be doing it again!
Staff very nice. My crab cakes were bad. They took them off my bill since I didn’t eat them, which was nice, however I would have rather had a good meal. My son’s steak was over cooked but he still ate it. The food is overpriced for the quality.
Great location. Awesome food. Fast and friendly staff.
great service, great food and close to Peace Center.
Had friends from Chicago in town and wanted to give them a taste of downtown and fine southern dining - Soby's was their favorite - and they'd been to Charleston and Savannah!
The crab cakes are marvelous! All food, drinks and service was great, as always.
Consistently, a wonderful experience from start to finish. Very attentive in area. Food is always delicious!
Crab cakes were phenomenal!
We went for Sunday brunch before the theater and it was great, no one would leave there hungry! Great Bloody Mary and deserts to die for.
Took a quick weekend trip to Greenville for a concert and had heard great things about Soby's. It was everything and more! Brunch buffet was spectacular. Service was wonderful. Will be returning on our next visit!
This was the first time my wife and I had attended the Soby's Sunday Brunch, and as expected, it was amazing. If you're around downtown Greenville on a Sunday morning, don't hesitate to try this out.
Soby's was the perfect place to eat before our engagement! The food was excellent and the ambiance was wonderful.
Way too, loud. Found myself shouting to our friends to carry on a conversation. Upon walking out after the meal it sounded like it would leaving a loud concert or football game.
The most notable part of our dining experience was the craft cocktails, including a mocktail. We appreciated several choices of “teetotaler” beverages. All of the cocktails were well-executed. The food didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed Southern food with a modern twist. I loved the crab cakes, which were very generous on the crab. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent clean eating option and very friendly servers. Drinks and food tasted great. Will be back. Thank you very much.
As usual, Soby's was amazing for dinner - from the appetizer to the dessert, everything tasted awesome and the service was great. This has been the go-to dinner spot for my Wife and I whenever we're in Greenville, and it never lets us down.
Very noisy-hard to carry on a conversation
Food was good- Portions only moderate for the money.
Wine ridiculously expensive
The dinner was to celebrate winning a major customer with our company. The meal was the best yet (we have been many times to Soby’s). We had a scallops main course split between us as a starter which was perfect. The scallops melted in your mouth and the cornbread mash was just divine. For our main we both had the Filet Mignon which had a smoky flavor and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Each bite of the tender juicy meet was absolute heaven on a fork.
We had been with the server a couple of times previously and he made the night special. His humor was just enough to be fun without being over bearing and the time he spent with us was attentive but didn’t intrude with our meal one bit. One of the best nights at Soby’s yet. We will be back soon.
Ordered the special which was grilled Scallops & the only thing that was puzzling was the green on the carrots, waitress informed us that they get produce locally & sometimes that is the way they come in. They appeared to be charred, instead of grilled, but it was due to them being green. Would suggest they don't use them if they are too green, less concern for the consumers! Overall food was very good! Would return to enjoy the atmosphere & food here.
Our first trip there. Definitely not the last. We kept reading the reviews about pimento cheese appetiser. Wow. They were spot on. I even added as a topping on my filet.
Ich war schon öfter in Soby’s, der Service ist immer exzellent, sehr gute Weinkarte und das Essen ist spitze. Clam Chowder und die Shortribs sind top.
Soby's is a real treat....the wine list is very impressive with a great selection of delicious French wines.....Joe, the Sommelier is very knowledgeable and will come to your table to discuss any of the wines....the food is fantastic...there is something for everyone...fish, chicken, pork, brussel sprouts that are out of this world...
Soby's never disappoints. Atmosphere warm, inviting and full of fellowship. Everything on their menu is good food. The pork tenderloin, fried chicken, scallops were all on our table. Our table of 7 were all so happy with their choices. Service was attentive and friendly. Kitchen is energetic and open and the smell of delicious food fills the restaurant. Great downtown location with valet.
Everything was great. We enjoyed the wine, food, and service. Too bad they were out of my desert! But everyone enjoyed the bourbon ice cream!
A favorite destination where everything on the menu is a sure bet. Fried tomatoes and short rib are tops.
My husband and I been here before and really enjoyed it. Their She Crab soup is out of this world! This time was disappointing. My husband had salmon which he enjoyed though he wasn’t sure about the succotash. I had a fillet which I asked for medium well. When it came out it was rare in the center. I sent it back but even then found it tuff. The steak was plated over some creamed potatoes and surrounded by green beans. Unfortunately, a gravy had been poured over it all and the potatoes were swimming in it. The waiter was great and compt my meal including a free dessert. We’ll probably return if only for the soup! It was just a shame this happened as it was supposed to be a special dinner on the eve of my cancer surgery. You can’t win them all!
For all the hype I expected the food to be much better? Everything was under seasoned and many of the components on our plates were either undercooked or overcooked. It was a Sunday ...maybe the chef was off? My server attentive and informed.
I have always like Soby’s. Excellent service, atmosphere and food
More Southern Food would be great, e.g. cornbread, pulled pork.
Normally Soby's is right on the money. We visited Saturday night for a date night and this trip was not one to write home about. My husband ordered the Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin and I ordered the Filet. My husband's meal was very good but my filet was barely edible. The cook on the filet was perfect but it had a burnt smell and taste that I could not get past. Tasted as the grill had not been cleaned in a month and I was eating the burnt left overs off of the racks. I tried to eat it but could not get past this smell and taste. The manager was kind enough to provide another which was better but still had that burnt after taste to it. It was very disappointing for a $35 steak. We will not discount Soby's but do not plan to visit again any time soon.
Great! And child friendly.
We made an early reservation so the restaurant was less crowded and noisy. Our server David “Soup” was very attentive and made some great recommendations. The ambiance was romantic, the food was excellent and the whole dinning experience was fantastic. We ordered frog legs and hot oysters for starters, braised beef short rib, half crab cake/half shrimp grits for main dishes and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Every bite was a true delight!
Got the day's soup as the starter, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin as the main and the cheese plate for the desert. Service was good, I took the wine she suggested (white) with the main course and house red (Cabernet Sauvignon) with the desert. Both were good. Food was excellent. Total bill was just under $80. Being non-native, it was a bit difficult to hear over the ambient music. The restaurant itself is very nice with really high ceiling.
Terrible food, cold food, bad service, very disappointing. They did comp our dinner which was very nice and we didn’t request.
Our server was wonderful. All her recommendations were on par. She even got my mom to order dessert and she ate it ALL! Hubby enjoyed the frog legs but our fav were the friend green tomatoes and the corn choux that came with the crab cakes.
Soby's is always a good spot you can count on for a good meal, drinks & fun time with friends Love the valet parking !!
20 years perfecting their best dishes - certainly captures local flavor. Worth trying when visiting Greenville.
Prompt, frequent & superb service, just right attention during meal, water/tea consistently filled, nice spacing of tables for privacy, great food & selections, good music.
