Soby’s New South Cuisine is an eclectic blend of contemporary continental cuisine infused with traditional Southern ingredients, transforming old favorites into something fresh and new. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Greenville, in a renovated cotton mill built in the 1800s. The atmosphere is warm and energetic and the staff is well-trained to provide a fantastic dining experience for all of our guests. In addition, the wine list offers more than 500 selections and is a Wine Spectator Magazine award-winner regular.

I was excited to go to Soby’s having heard many good things. It was my husband’s birthday. They called in advance of the reservation to confirm and checked the spelling of his name. I thought they would do something special. Instead, they did nothing. The waitress didn’t even wish him a happy birthday. Every other bar we went to before and after offered him a desert of free drink. The food was blood to average. Overall, a big disappointment.

Had an awesome experience at Soby’s tonight. Our server, Santiago, was knowledgeable about all food and beverage and made some excellent recommendations. Will definitely visit on our next visit to Greenville.

The menu has a very nice selection of choices! Our fried green tomatoes were delicious and the pimento sauce is a wonderful complement. My beet salad was overdressed but ample amounts of roasted beets and good greens. The mussels app (which I had for dinner) was very good although I wish they would offer a tomato Based light sauce instead of the rich thin creamy sauce. Even a broth would be good! Wine list is worthy and the best selection for the restaurants I’ve dined at. Husband loved everything and had no complaints!
