We loved our first visit to Soby's! The fried green tomatoes were the best I have ever eaten, and the BBQ braised beef shortribs melted in your mouth! Excellent service, too!
Food was delicious! this was my second time there and I would definitely go again.
Took the family out to an enjoyable brunch in a nice peaceful place.
2 Year Dating Anniversary
Food was outstanding!!
Food was wonderful! Staff very attentive
Filet was awesome. Fried chicken was very good to. We will definitely go back.
I found the food a little salty, a bit expensive, but otherwise a good experience.
My 11 year old son , loved the salmon! I really enjoyed the Duck with brussel sprouts!
Always a home run Carl. Great food, great service, great ambiance!
Atmosphere is great. Old cotton mill with exposed brick and partial vaulted ceiling, view into kitchen , nice separation of bar area . Menu is varied, but not overwhelming and to the point. Waiter was a little unfamiliar with details of menu, but menu changes frequently, so understandable. Service was great with timing of food.
Soby's has for some time, been a "Go To" restaurant in Greenville , but my recent visit was less than impressive. The atmosphere was extremely loud, the service was average at best, no offer of salad choices , the portions were small for the price of the entrees. I have had much better dining experiences recently at Hall's Chop House , Bonefish Grill and Firebird's
Loved this restaurant! Great food and great times!!
I had the bacon wrapped pork. While very tasty, it was a bit dry. I overheard the person sitting at the table next to me make the same comment. I was able to sub my potatoes out for another vegetable. The beer is reasonably priced and served nice and cold. My meal was a decent price, other items in the menu were pricey.
Food on the buffet was cold, I'll consider this a one time occurrence as I have eaten at Sobeys before and did not experience cold food
Service from the bar has been very slow these past two Sundays. We were almost finished with our plate when the drinks arrived. Still a great place and we have reservations to come back!
Always love their Sunday brunch. Their food is amazing! Was a little disappointed that they tried to seat us upstairs after requesting the lower level due to mobility issues in our party. Requested at time of reservation and again when they called to confirm. It wasn't a problem as we were there right at opening but at another time it could have been a problem. Had to flag the waiter down a few times to get things we needed. Not the usual situation. Still love it and will continue to go back.
Wonderful. Always a favorite.
That was the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my entire life and Sobys give us two free crème brûlée’s for our anniversary with little chocolate happy anniversary candy on them. Wow the food and service was wonderful. They treated like us like royalty! We love All Table 301 restaurants and will always be a happy customer. :) see you soon!
a very enjoyable dinner very convenient to the Peace Center and valet parking
It was a weird experience. The service was excellent. Ambience was great. The food started out great and my wife’s entree was wonderful. I ordered the short ribs; they were dry and tough. So I ordered the salmon; it was demonstrably undercooked. So I just ate sides. It was disappointing but the server was great.
Took my parents out while they were in town to celebrate both of their birthdays and 40th wedding anniversary. It was a hit...food and service were both excellent. Only downside was music volume. At some point in the evening they cranked up the radio, commercials and all. Not sure why they would spoil an otherwise perfectly delivered restaurant experience. All in all a minor annoyance, and my wife has already requested a return visit for her birthday, which i'll be happy to oblige.
Was a lovely evening!! Everything was delicious and service was attentive and very professional
I've been to Soby's before and the food was great. This time the food was just okay, and for the price, it was not worth it. It was also extremely noisy in the restaurant. I know it was Friday night, but it was very hard to have a conversation with the folks at my table due to the noise. Also, it took quite a while for us to get our appetizers and food.
On the plus side, the waitresses were extremely kind and courteous.
Food and service was great. Noise level slightly higher than we enjoy but not unpleasant.
Love the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin! The Southern Summer Marguarita is my favorite drink... this time it was made with strawberries. It is hard to describe, but it is fabulous when made by Sam (maybe short for Samantha), the bartender! Can't wait to come back again!
Outstanding food. Great service. Also great response to gluten-free needs: choices were not the same as the full menu but still enough to make it a hard choice.
Girls night out.. dinner and musical at Peace. Great food and service! Love the valet parking for the evening!
Terrific. The "fall" menu has some of their regular dishes revamped with fall vegetables and new flavors which are delicious.
The food was absolutely delicious and I have been many times. It just seems to get better!
Always great food and drinks at Soby's. Great lively environment, but not the best place to carry on a conversation with a group, as it is a louder atmosphere. Waiter was fine until we asked him to split the bill. We only requested it to be split 2 ways for a party of 6 and his demeanor greatly changed from cordial to rude.
Wonderful as always...the booths are great for enjoying a conversation with your dining partners. I'd spend a little more time putting your charcuterie board together. It looked sloppy and some flavors didn't "blend". Nothing pickled, jam was over-played. Almonds were nice!
Eaten here many times...usually liked but the last couple times...not so much. This time, specifically here are my complaints. My entree was the salmon...new approach I believe. Spice cap on top, did not compliment the salmon at all, my opinion way too dense. Salmon was good and cooked well. On a bed of greens...awful and overpowering, with fall squash that was roasted very inconsistently, some pieces were larger and crunched, others smaller and done...c'mon guys that's cooking 101. This wasn't even the biggest problem. My wife ordered the vegetable plate. In her opinion is was mostly inedible. In today's World folks, there are many vegetarians...you gotta be thinking about them. Probably about 5 items on the plate...a scoop of creamed corn...great....a scoop of succotash...good. A scoop of chutney...really, chutney? awful. A scoop of HEAVILY peppered kale...tough, too spicy hot and inedible and finished off with a few raw, unseasoned, cold cucumbers...huh? If the head chef looked at / tasted that plate as a $18 entree, he/she should have stopped it in it's tracks. Granted I did watch the head guy spend almost the entire time I was there checking messages on his phone??? Our server though pretty good, just disappeared after our plates were delivered and we couldn't find her for almost the rest of the meal. At that point we had to get our check and get to our show...she picked up my wife's almost entirely uneaten plate...didn't say a word. The wheels are coming off this wagon
Excellent service, outstanding food, very nice decor, all staff were very nice for my wife's 85th birthday, parking was great once found. Highly recommended.
Probably the best meal I have every eaten at a restaurant. I would go here every day of my life if I could afford it.
This was our third time dining at Soby’s. We enjoyed the first 2 times but this most recent visit was a disappointment. The service was outstanding but the food left something to be desired. The Brussels sprouts in the appetizer were way undercooked. Had that not been the case it would’ve been very good. My daughter had the vegetable platter, which she had last time we were there and loved. This time it seemed small and lacking. The kale was chewy. The grain was soaked in sweet/sour dressing. Last time this entree came with risotto but not this time. I had salmon which was good but the squash was hard. I told the waiter who aplologized and ordered a side of squash for me. However most of that squash was way undercooked as well. The greens had some sort of sweet sauce that I didn’t care for.
On the positive side my creme brûlée was very good as was the coffee. My husband enjoyed his crab soup and shrimp and grits.
Nice Downtown restaurant for a visit in the city, food and service was great.
My family used to dine at Soby's frequently, but the menu became rather dull. After years of going to other restaurants, we decided to try Soby's again. We love the atmosphere and the service was good, but there was nothing crispy about the 2 very small slices of "Crispy Duck" which were cooked so rare that my pregnant daughter couldn't eat it and took it home to put into the microwave. Mine was too rare, tasteless, and presentation was unremarkable. $30 is fine for a nicely presented, good-sized proportion of perfectly cooked meat. Even though we are always told the menu "has changed," it is still pretty much the same old one from 10 years ago. Soby's has been resting on its laurels for too long.
If you need a go to place in Greenville for your guests in town then Soby's in the go to place to capture the essence of Greenville. The food is traditional Southern fare then is just sensational.
