Need to book at 8:15 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin was inedible. Seemed precooked then warmed. Ruined appetite. Should have said something but was in mixed company. So so disappointed as thus restaurant has been recommended many times. Waiter didn’t seem to care that the plate was not touched.
Had a great dinner Friday evening. We were seated promptly at a nice table for two. Food was very good, we both had the grouper special. Menu could use some new selections.
We always love Soby’s. The food is great and the ambiance is as well
Atmosphere was great and it was a very nice menu.
It was all overshadowed by the annoying server.
Server was teaching a new server and was obviously trying to show her the art of the upcharge by pushing $90 wine and extra portions crab cakes and pork tenderloins. It all detracted from what should have otherwise been a very nice dinner.
Brought out of town customers and they could not stop raving about their Sobys experience. Everything was amazing, as usual.
Soby's great for Sunday Brunch. But dinner was terrible- waitress more concerned about our choice of water Sparkling or Stilled. Pork Tenderloin dry and no flavor. We shared that with the server made no offers of anything else. No manager came by except for an Older Gentleman that could barely walk. Only other Staff person with a jacket kept racing past buy no interaction.
Way to many options for dining in Greenville-better make some changes!!!!!
A regular place we visit. Good menu choices at moderate prices. The short ribs were amazing. Duck was good. Pork tenderloin was very good. Rolls excellent. Service was friendly.
The atmosphere and service were great. I had the fried green tomatoes and the braised short ribs. My friend had the crab cakes and that was delicious. I would recommend Sony’s for the total experience.
Has NEVER disappointed!!! Although I don’t go there often, Soby’s is one of my favorite “splurge” restaurants! I live on a retired educators income so have to be careful how often I eat out at the better establishments. Food, atmosphere, and service has always been outstanding! Yes, the menu prices do accommodate different budgets but back to splurge statement!
Food was delicious. Atmosphere was great. Staff was very helpful.
We loved the green fried tomatoes for an appetizer. We also had braised short ribs and crispy fried chicken and both were delicious! Great service and excellent drinks. We will be back again
Not the best experience. Service was poor to not having enough wait staff and food on the upstairs bar was cold.
Quality of food and service has declined. Visited for Sunday brunch with my wife and daughter on Sunday, February 16th. Service was poor... long waits for beverage refills, silverware, and the check. Server acted like he’d rather be at a dental appointment. Employees not smiling and seemed unhappy.
The brunch buffet was fantastic! Service was prompt and friendly. Soby’s crab cakes are the best ever.
We went for Sunday brunch and the food was outstanding; we were told that the menu changes weekly, including the carving station, but everything we equally tasty. Although we were not specifically looking for a good deal, it was an excellent value for the quality and variety of the buffet. The atmosphere was lively, but it was easy to talk at the table. The location was also very interesting. The desert table was equally appealing. Easily the best meal of the trip.
Great food great atmosphere
We loved everything, especially the Lobster Mac and Cheese special!! My husband also loved the view of the kitchen. It was so fun watching them cook from overhead. We can’t wait to go back!
Great service......very very below average filet
We had to wait far too long for our meal (waited one hour to just get our entrees), and I believe it was because it was Valentine's Weekend and they were slammed. Plus, a very large party had to be served first. But despite that weakness in service, the food was incredible and I would go back.
Excellant. Only complaint was time to get our food but when the food arrived it was perfectly prepared Wait staff did a great job, friendly, hardworking will definetly dine their again.
This was our second trip to Soby's. We had a party of 6, and we were eating there before heading to the Peace Center for a show. From the moment we got out of the car, service was superb. The valet was attentive to our needs and very accommodating, and we were seated immediately.
Sadly, I can't remember our waitress' name, but she was phenomenal. She was very personable and friendly, but not overbearing. She cut up with us and made good recommendations when asked.
The food was also wonderful. We had a bit of everything, and everyone was very complimentary of their dish.
Food is always delicious and the service is impeccable. The crab cakes are to die for!
It was my Mother’s 75th birthday. My two sons who are teens have never been there. We don’t normally take them to a place like Soby’s due to coat and their picky pallet. They loved everything. The server was great. I apologize for not remembering her name. She did a great job and was patient with my teens As they didn’t know some of the dishes. It was a memorable night and my Mom felt like a queen. Thank you. We love it there and they’ve never disappointed.
I wanted to use open table gift card sent by them. I was told card was not authorized would get a call monday....today is Tuesday no call Monday. I know my daughter's credit card was charged in December so why is the office so confused or is this to make you home ba k second time to use gift card. I picked the restaurant with 4 people knowing it would be over 100guft card and I might only owe 100. Had to pay over 200 still waiting on call.
Went for Valentine’s Day, great service and food was amazing
They have amazing food. It is the perfect special occasion or special date restaurant. It is a bit pricy but it is 100% worth it. We had multiple people come and help at our table as it was Valentine's Day and they were a bit busier than usual. Everyone on the staff was very nice and gracious. I will be going back in the future.
Delicious meal! Excellent staff! We have been here twice now and both times have been very happy. Food is wonderful! Great atmosphere! I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance if you want a desired time slot.
Took 40min to receive our food on Valentine’s Day, and I asked why... but no explanation was give, but we have come to the conclusion that it’s because they forgot to put our order in. No apologies were ever given... not once. They avoided us because we simply asked why it took so long, while everyone around us was eating who arrived after us. We have made it our tradition to eat here every year for Valentine’s Day but what a huge mind changer this was. Not only that... if you book a reservation on Open Table here they will give you the worst seats... please take it from me.
I have been here before and it was good. Our dinners for valentines day was at best mediocre. I had duck with Brussel sprouts which were hard and barely cook. My wife had crab cakes which she said was very salty. I personally thought it was way overpriced for what we got.
Crabcakes were amazing. Seating space a little too cramped.
Outstanding service & superb cuisine!!! THE BEST shrimp & grits I’ve had in SC!! My wife had the short ribs & they were melt in your mouth. Fried green tomatoes we shared were also wonderful....we ate everything on that plate! I had the signature old-fashioned cocktail & although the a little pricey compared to the other cocktails offered it was well worth the money. The ice spheres also kept the drink from getting watered-down which was a nice touch. We went for Valentine’s Day & my wife enjoyed the single rose that our server presented her with upon our departure. Fantastic experience & would definitely return & recommend!!
Valentines Day! We eat there at least once a month but this time everything was very well done!! I had a special for the evening: halibut with greens, rice and a clementine vinegarette. I eat a lot of fish and this preparation was just so fresh and delicious. I savored every bite!! My husband had short ribs which he always enjoys!!
Great Food- we had the Shrimp and Grits, and the crab cakes- best crab cakes around!
Really enjoyed our dinner and will be back. Service was really good, our waitress made sure we were aware of the specials and that our drinks were always refreshed.
It was Valentine's day, and all the ladies were presented a long stem red rose before leaving, a very sweet gesture of kindness from the staff.
Soby’s is a perfect spot for any occasion calling for great food and service. An easy go-to for us when dining in Greenville.
One of my favorites! Great food, beeautiful atmosphere and a menu that doesn’t break the bank!
Restaurant was surprisingly busy, particularly on a week night. I strongly recommend getting reservations. Though the place is much larger on the inside than we expected, it is a well-established restaurant for downtown Greenville. They specialize in southern-style dishes, though their menu is varied and excellent. Enjoy!
We've eaten at Soby's only once before and it was good. Ordered shrimp grits/crab cake combo and veggie plate and we looked forward to coming back. This time we ordered pork tenderloin and mussels. The mussels were almost inedible. Very strong fishy taste and odor as well as rubbery and chewy. We've eaten PEI mussels dozens of times in many restaurants for years and never tasted anything like these. They usually have a sweet delicate flavor. Perhaps these were sitting on the shelf too long or maybe they weren't PEI mussels, just don't know. They were unusually large. Ordered pork tenderloin many times in many restaurants and always a good dependable choice. Not so this time. Ordered them cooked to chef's choice (med rare or med I think) and they were extremely dry. Common with leaner cuts but most chefs deal with this either with sauces or by other means. There was nothing drizzled over them and no au jus or anything to dip into other than a yellow sauce (hollandaise perhaps) puddled around the mashed potatoes which were delicious btw. The pork was bacon wrapped but because of the shorter cooking time for the meat, the bacon was half cooked and not very appealing. Maybe the bacon was supposed to keep the pork moist but it didn't work. Noise level was at full volume for a Wed night but it turned out a company party of 60 were on the upper level which added to the cacophony. We didn't say anything about the food to the waiter who was racing as fast as he could to keep up and nothing was his fault. We just wanted to get out of there so left without complaining. If we ever do decide to try it again we will only order the signature dishes of fried chicken, crab cakes, or shrimp and grits. Anything else would seem to be a gamble.
We love Soby's and we tend to go many times before the theatre because the atmosphere and food are outstanding.
Fantastic service and impeccable meal!
