Great service and food. Every one in our party was delighted
Our issue is always noise and echo, we are hearing impaired and will not go to many restaurants, but we will return to the 1st booth at Soby’s.
Bar service was phenomenal and the food was great as always! Always a consistent place to dine with good food and service
Only negative for us was massive foot traffic and floor rumbling right where our table (almost directly across from fireplace ) was. Customers and staff brushed the back of my chair several times. All else was excellent.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Will definitely return on next trip to Greenville and recommend to friends. Our waiter, "Sup" as in Super Dave, was awesome.
Excellent restaurant. One of our favorites. Highly recommend.
Great stop for dinner before a show at the Peace Center.
As always, Soby’s did not disappoint. Our go to entree the short ribs was delicious and we tried the special Halibut dinner and that was excellent as well. So consistent which is the key to an outstanding restaurant!
Visiting from out of town, Soby’s was recommended by local friend. It lived up to the recommendation.
Our food was wonderful. One of us had the special (halibut), and our guests had the salmon and grouper. I had the lamb chops. All were enjoyed, not only for their preparation, but also for their presentation.
Excellent as always, they never disappoint us. The quality was fantastic.
Superb service from server, John, who was also very personable. All serving staff appeared to be on top of things & well managed. Much attention to detail made a very enjoyable dinning experience. All four courses were delicious. Best she-crab soup (former Charleston resident. Halibut flaky but still moist. Nice presentation of pecan pie.
We LOVE Soby's and eat there as often as the opportunity permits. The pork tenderloin is to die for!!!
Everything was great. I had the potato crusted grouper. Excellent. The fillet steak was the tastiest she had in awhile.
Great food, atmosphere, and service...really impressed out of town friends
We enjoyed the excellent service, food selection/quality and atmosphere we were looking for to celebrate our 20th Anniversary before going to a show at Center Stage. Great way to start the night.
Great service and amazing food! The Carolina chicken was ridiculously tasty and their shrimp and grits second to none.
We had a wonderful evening and our waiter was the best!!!
Great experience. Great chef special recommendation for the flounder dish. It was fantastic. Service was great.
Best she crab soup. Grouper cooked perfectly. excellent service
We were a party of four for a pre-concert dinner. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Good thing we had a reservation because it was already very crowded at 6:00 pm. Our server, Calley, gave us a friendly greeting. The brussel sprouts appetizer was excellent. I got the short rib for my entrée and it was just a notch or two from being excellent. My tablemates all got the pork tenderloin entrée and they loved it. For dessert we got the pumpkin spice cheesecake and it was wonderful. Overall the star of the show was our server, Calley. She is a real professional - the best server I've encountered in a long time.
Good food and great atmosphere, but on the spendy side. Think New York prices. For 2 basic meals and dessert, it cost $75 (no alcohol, we don't drank water).
Good for a special occasion because it's good service and nice atmosphere, but save up.
My husband and I both had the night’s special, baked flounder with puréed potato, cubed sweet potato, fig jam, and a few beet micro greens. The dish was delicious. We both ate every bite.
We always enjoy Soby's. The Pimento Cheese appetizer was great. We had the Filet and the Pork Tenderloin. They were delicious and perfectly cooked. Plan to return soon.
Excellent service from McKenzie. This was a business dinner, booked ahead. They confirmed the reservation two days prior and when we checked in, had all our details and special requests accommodated. My colleagues were from out of town and raved over the restaurant. You can always depend on pretty much any Table 301 restaurant to provide impeccable service with an amazing menu. I never hesitate to book Soby's for any event.
We had a early dinner at Soby's before a performance at the Peace Center. The restaurant was not crowded when we started at 5:30 PM but soon filled up. Service was prompt, courteous and helpful. We chose the grouper and the lamp chops for entrees. Both were cooked to perfection and excellently seasoned. We enjoyed a quiet dinner and were in plenty of time for a 7:30 curtain. Soby's always pleases.
This is officially my favorite restaurant in Greenville. Our food was to die for and the atmosphere was perfect for our 2 year wedding anniversary. We absolutely love the fried green tomatoes! My favorite entree is the bacon wrapped tenderloin that melts in your mouth along with the steak. We also indulged in the Southern Pecan Pie with Bourbon Ice cream which was worth every calorie! We cannot wait to come back!
Very fast service, the best glass of pino noir I’ve had in a few years!
We were at Soby’s for Sunday brunch. The dining experience was lovely. Even on a busy Sunday the restaurant was quiet, the food fresh and well stocked. The service was excellent. The ability to make a reservation was the key to our selecting Soby’s as well as online reviews. I was disappointed with the food overall. It was good but I was expecting something special. I would dine here again but with lower expectations.
Best brunch in Greenville
Soby’s is one of our favorite downtown Greenville restaurants. The Sunday brunch menu offerings are delicious and will appeal to most anyone’s palate. The service is always very good and the atmosphere is casual and friendly.
This was my 1st time to Soby's. The brunch was delicious and the variety of foods was excellent. I think I overly enjoyed the dessert bar. :) Our waitress, Heather, was awesome. She explained all the foods on the brunch buffet, kept our drinks full, and checked on us periodically. The price of the brunch buffet was also awesome!
Disappointed in Sunday’s brunch menu. Catfish & ribs are not on my list of brunch items. We also missed the shrimp & grits.
For an appy we had the calamari. Nothing other-worldy but certainly good. For dinner I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had the braised short rib. Both were well prepared and presented. Portions were perfect. Service was extremely attentive given how busy it was. Bottom line: food, two glasses of wine and two Stoli martinis and the tab was ~ $122 with tip. About what you'd expect in a trendy town.
This is usually our favorite restaurant when we come to Greenville however this meal was terrible. The lamb chops were not cooked, the service was slow even getting drinks. We then requested a wedge salad since we did not have time to wait for another entree to be cooked and the salad was so old the lettuce was red from being old. We were shocked a restaurant of this level would ever let anything go out of the kitchen like that. It was a birthday dinner that took all the joy out of a dining experience. When two items are wrong when two people are ordering that is a very poor rate of quality.
Haven't been to Soby's in a couple of years and wonder why I have let that happen. The food is very good, service is terrific and prices are reasonable. Might have liked some more moderately priced wine choices but what they have are good. Don't miss out on the lamb chops.
Food and service were excellent. I’ve been there several times and will continue to do so.
I have enjoyed Sobys in the past and chose this restaurant to take our family out for a birthday celebration. We did not order appetizers and only one drink...it became apparent that we were not a prime table for the evening ...I had two hours to travel and was not going to have several drinks before getting on the road. The food arrived and we were never checked on again until the table was almost finished, except me. My salmon was not good, very under cooked and slimy. I sent it back( mistake- I think that it was bad) and it arrived back cooked through....although everyone else was finished. I believe that the salmon was bad....I was sick later that night and all the next day. The table noticed that the waiter did not have time for us after I sent the salmon back....he walked away mid sentence when I declined dessert. I love this restaurant, and spent @$200.00 that evening.....I found the service lacking....there was a large table nearby that he was giving his attention to....I know...bigger tip. I still left him over 20% I waited in college at the nicest in Columbia, I know what it takes....the guy needs some personal pointers.
My wife and I were in town for a Clemson game and saw the high ratings for Soby’s. It was great! We were seated above the kitchen and could watch all the action. Cocktails were delicious (the tequila cocktail was great). I had grouper with etoufee (spicy but tasty!) and my wife had the filet and fried oysters. Both some of the best we’ve had. Brian, the server, was on point and personable. A must for all you foodies!
First time at Sobys
