We always love Sobo and having been going for many years. Chicken pot pie is a must as well as spinach pie and Mac and cheese. The turkey sandwich is also excellent.

It was too loud. Food is great, but if I’m in town on a night when there’s live music, I’ll go somewhere else.

Had a wonderful dinner at SoBo Cafe. We were running late and the restaurant appreciated our call and held our reservation. Not much street parking to be had. My daughter had the special- a delicious crab cake accompanied by asparagus w Hollandaise sauce and fingerling potatoes. I had a dinner salad with unique “spiced apples” and a great vinaigrette. For my main I had the chicken pot pie which had a wonderful puff pastry crust and incredibly delicious cream sauce. It was a little light on chicken and veggies. For dessert she had the homemade chocolate pudding sans peanut whipped cream (allergy) and I had a plate of giant chocolate dipped strawberries. Our waitress and the hostess were very pleasant and overall we had a great experience. The restaurant has a wonderful menu and I’m sure we’ll return again.

Although, it is a nice small place, the tables were so close together it was hard to have a private conversation. There were other tables open but they wouldn't move us because they said the table were reserved according to time????
Also, I didn't realize that it didn't have a full bar. I had only been there once before and I remembered that they had a good selection of wine; not so this time.

Great meal. Interesting bar menu as well. Tried 2 flights of craft beers between us. Great spreads and pickled vegetables to start and grape leaves were fantastic. Korean chicken fried steak with kim chi greens and horseradish mashed potatoes excellent as were the scallops. Great brownie sundae for dessert. Prices were reasonable and a good value. Service was attentive even though server looked very busy. Cozy, warm ambience. Great meal and would return!

SoBo never disappoints. Each time we have been there the food is wonderful, and they are willing to substitute an additional green vegetable instead of the potatoes. This last time it was 9 degrees outside so their specialty dish of Chicken Pot Pie really hit the spot. And I had leftovers for the next night. A really great neighborhood place with consistently good food and drink.

Delicious, homemade comfort food. Perfect on a cold winter night. They were kid friendly, and our 5- and 7-yr-olds loved the food as did we. A very comfortably neighborhood restaurant.

Food and service were both amazing - thanks to the waiter pouring us water for being so friendly and the waitress for overhearing that I wanted to try some of my dad’s appetizer soup - and immediately bringing me my own small taste tester bowl of soup. Definitely went the extra mile on top of having amazing food.

Some of the best french onion soup I've ever had! Amazing ambiance. Great cozy spot for a date or small group dinner. A little tight for large groups, but I did see a larger party seated for dinner when I went. Super personable staff too.

I love this place - I don't live downtown so we come occasionally- I think it is a little gem of place - it's small and charming and the food is always great ! Some of our favorites are the Thai mussels - the chicken dishes are wonderful ! I think the prices are reasonable vs the quality of the food !
The only reason I gave it 4 Stars overall is the chairs are on the small side so they aren't the most comfortable and We sat at a half round table ( there was 5 of us ) and it was a little crowded - I was smushed against the wall !
I would recommend coming here !

Great restaurant for lunch and dinner. One of the only good lunch choices around. We went early so the crowd hadn’t come yet which is why I rated the noise level as lowish. It can get noisy when full. food is eclectic comfort food and is very satisfying and tasty. Great lunch menu- far more interesting than most. Would highly recommend.
