SoBe Restaurant & Lounge
Josh was a great server
We will be back.
Only irritation was that we had 1pm reservation but had to wait 40minutes to be seated.
I booked for Mothers day brunch for 5 ppl at $35 when booking online. I was charged $40.00 pp and have not received a call back or response to my email
Very nice setting..the food is good! Good music. A bit loud. You have to speak up when trying to conversate with others at your table but overall a nice spot.
Food was excellent, but wait time was a bit long even though we had a reservation. I realise its not their fault, folks just dont want to leave.
Shrimp and Grits were excellent but service was slow and it was only 8 people inside the restaurant
We Invited a couple of friends to come out and spend the evening with us Jazz band was LOUD but I love jazz ....The only Negative is that It was hard to conversate because it was extremely Loud otherwise We had a Great Time !!!
I always get great professional assistance, with a great ambiance. Everyone is kind and polite , attending to my every need . I recommend SoBe , for great food and a pleasant evening of entertainment.
Every morsel was tantalizing! Shrimp & grits to run for and cornbread that melts in your mouth like cake!
Sobe is a great place to chill and meet new people. Also on the level for date night. On the patio you can smoke cigars and enjoy hally hour cocktails. All in all. You cant go wrong going to Sobe!
Nice ambiance but there continues to be very slow service. Also, the food is OK at best. One would expect better given the pricing. I had the jerk wings, a few of which were too dry to eat. The jerk wings are simply overly spiced wings, as if that’s all that matters with such. We were a party of 2 and 18% gratuity was included in the bill. I would only return for a spot at the bar because the service and food in the dining area continues to be slow and disappointing. We were there for the great live music by Secret Society. They were the best part of this experience. I would love to see this place improve.
I wanted to love this place. It’s a beautiful space. Nicely decorated. BUT they need to work on a few things. First, my food was cold. I ordered the short ribs and the should have been piping hot when I got them. But they weren’t. And I couldn’t find my server to return them to the kitchen and I was hungry. So I ate them cold. I asked for the bartender to make me an old fashioned. A classic cocktail. Every bartender worth his or her salt SHOULD know how to make one, right? Nope! Three times they tried and three times they failed. The gratuitous use of grenadine in this palace should be a crime! My waitress was sweet and made a good effort, but when we needed her she was hard to catch up with. My friend had a nice time. The live music was a nice touch. But overall, I’d like for them to work on the two things that matter: The drinks and the food!
On this particular day they had a big event which was over so overcrowded not enough seating you couldn't even get a glass half the time the wait staff was slow who took forever to come out on any other given night I would say this is a nice place to go but not when they have a biggie bad the worst place to go
Came on Sunday, did not realize it was buffet style. Anywho, sat down with a party of 5. Which we had to wait about 15 mins to be seated. Glasses were extremely dirty with lip prints, silverware was dirty with noticeable food stains. Table was dirty, not wiped down and floor had food everywhere. Needless to say, we all left and went to Milk n Honey! Food was terrific!
Went for Sunday brunch. Service was absolutely disappointing and unacceptable. Our drinks did not come out until for over almost 40 minutes. We were finished eating by the time our omelets and waffles were done. The child that was with us never got his orange juice and his waffle (the only thing he ate) came out as we were ready to leave. One member of the party never got the french toast she ordered. The automatically put on our bill an 18% gratuity and there were only 4 of us. The waitress staff could not explain why as there were options on the bill for gratuity. Requested to speak to the manager and she never came. Needless to say, I really would like to support local business, however I work too hard for my money to spend it on such crappy services.
I am raving to my friends about my experience. Coming back this weekend to see Maceo Parker!!! for my birthday!!! April 7
Pre bday present to myself!!! See you guys this weekend!
SoBe’s staff were very customer friendly! We had a little snafu with our reservation however it was resolved quickly by the both of hostesses. Service was great, we had a table full of appitizers and a few entre’s, they all were very tasty and our drinks were good too. The band “The Unknowns” were amazing! They certainly added a great touch to the atmosphere.
Great place to wind down after work. Appetizers and drinks really good.
My experience from start to finish was amazing and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed herself for her birthday. will be returning.
I had family visiting from Texas and thought SoBe would be a great place to take them for great entertainment, atmosphere and good food. Unfortunately, we were never seated cause a fight broke out BEFORE we could even sit down. My review is low for this instance only since the restaurant had to shut down. SoBe is USUALLY a great spot with mature adults, enjoying good music and food. I am hoping this was an isolated incident, since I've NEVER had any issues while dining at SoBe.
We went to see a band, drink, and have some nice food. We had no idea that we would only have 1 drink and not even be able to order because of tables being thrown. Of course it wasn’t the establishment but the people. I just didn’t expect this type of atmosphere at Sobe.
Made reservations and invited guests from out of town to enjoy live entertainment and dinner; I was told they could not accommodate me and guests because they were booked solid. Someone should have came and told me instead of wasting my time and gas. Then a Big fight broke out... glass and people running. Sooo embarrassing.
There was a fight and there was no security. The situation could have been rectified sooner if security was present. Some people were injured. Anytime there is entertainment they should be an age requirement of 21 and security present.
This was by far my worst experience @ Sobes WITH a reservation for 6 @ 7:45pm & I’ve been coming for a couple years now. We were finally seated @8:10pm.
I was told we had to sit @ separate tables for my party of 6 to allow the wait staff walk room! 😡 Who does that for a party? Parties want to sit TOGETHER! & this isn’t my 1st time having lounge reservations with a party of 6 or more & we’ve previously sat together & on my many visits I see large parties with multiple tables put together which we ended up pushing together ourselves because When we got to the table there were only 2 chairs @ 1 table & 3 at the other. Not adequate silverware & we waited 40 minutes for water as we were told there were no clean glasses! Our food came out separate & COLD & we still had to wait on silverware after asking several times on top of something to drink. I do NOT fault the waitress at all she was very composed & sweet under the circumstances but I do fault MANAGEMENT as he gave me the lousy excuse I was given on the separate tables & EVERYONE in my party has been to Sobe’s many times before with my prior reserved reservations & their own to witness. Thiswas a horrible experience we experienced & all were dissatisfied except the Band was Fantastic & but I was EXTREMELY EMBARRASSED for my party 😩
Yes, I would recommend this restaurant and lounge to a friend.
Great menu selection and Jazz music was on point
I had a great evening, even got to witness a marriage proposal. It is super loud here, so if you plan on talking to the people at your table, you’ll have to shout.
Nice, grown and sexy feel. The scenery is classy and comfortable. Loved the live band. The food was good as far as portions but really could use seasoning
My hubby and I visited SoBe for brunch on 2/17. I was so excited to relax and have a great time without interruption from our little one and wanted to support a black-owned establishment. We arrived at the restaurant 10 mins before our reservations and informed we would have to wait 5-10 mins, which turned into 30 mins without a status update. Once we inquired, we were seated between 2 huge parties despite adequate 4 tops being available. I've worked in the restaurant business before and understand saving certain tables for larger parties, but I also understand the importance of customer service. After voicing our preference of seat choices, we were still unable to move which led me to believe our dollar wasn't valued. It would've been great for the female manager to come around and greet us to make sure our dining experience was pleasant, but she was busy on her laptop. A side from the lack of service, the food is very tasteful. Unfortunately, first impressions are lasting and I'll be keeping my dollars in D.C.
The first time I visited everything was perfect. After my last visit 02/17/19 I may not visit again. Buffet was not good at all food empty every time I went up grits were terrible lumpy and thick, not many options, nothing like my first experience. The glass my pineapple juice was served in was dirty. If not for the waffles and omelettes I probably would’ve requested a refund.
The restaurant was great but my waitress on the other hand I had to ask another waitress for more water and my mimosas wasn’t to tasteful I ordered unlimited mimosas and the first one I didn’t want anymore so it was a waste of money but the food was great.
Our first visit and it was phenomenal. I really enjoyed the LIVE music in which Kenny Sway and the Unknowns performed. The food was fulfilling and we'll flavored. The drinks were on point. I really love the grown and sexy crowd and vibe. The restaurant interior decorations is very sexy and relaxing. Will definitely visit again for another date night.
My servant was awesome. I love her personality and she was very accurate and prompt.
We really enjoyed it and the food was excellent. Great vibes and atmosphere and very good band that performed there on a FRI night. This was my 2nd time and I will go back again.
We were seated, waited for 30 mins while being passed by multiple waiter to no avail. Worst dining experience ever! needless to say we walked out after 30 mons. Another couple next to us had been waiting 45 mins...
The service was abismal. Even tho we had a reservation we waited over 15 minutes to get seated. After we were seated it took over 10 minutes for a server to acknowledge our presence. When we finally stopped a server, she revealed that they were short staffed.
The server didn’t provide silverware. There was a long wait each time for silverware, as a result the main course became as I sat waiting for a fork!!
Overall experience took over 2 hours. Food was good, pleather seats were peeling and the service was slow.
My visit to Sobe Restaurant this past Saturday wasn't so nice. I had reservations for 9pm but we arrived at 8pm and requested a table early. We were denied and told they were booked...however the restaurant side (not the VIP/bar side) was more than half empty. They weren't crowded at all. Next, our food was luke-warm and the white rice that came with the stuffed shrimp was cold and hard. I definitely like the service better during the week at happy hour. I will not be returning for a Saturday-Jazz visit. I may return during the week for happy hour and special events.
Nice atmosphere, nice music, and good food. The dessert (carrot cake) was not the best and it service started out very nice and timely but after your food hits the table, it’s a wait to see someone again. We were seated in the back which were fine, but there appeared to be several open seats closer to the band area. I loved the experience itself just some minor little dislikes.
