Big Burrito Group restaurants like Soba never disappoint! Excellent food, well-trained and informative waitstaff really stand out from other restaurants. Great happy hour for quality wines.
Great food carefully prepared in a beautiful setting. Service was first rate. A really terrific dining experience.
Really loved this restaurant. Food was delicious and great service. Will definitely return again.
This is my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. I have never been disappoint except when they took the steak off the menu. Get the rock shrimp!!
We came for a fixed course themed dinner, service was slow and food was mediocre. The server mixed up the order of our food, and dinner service lasted three hours causing us to miss our evening plans. Overall, would’ve expected more from a relatively upscale place
This was my first time at Soba and I was pleasantly surprised! My friend and I split two entrees, an appetizer, soup, and wine. Everything tasted delicious, arrived promptly, and our waitress was very helpful with both food and wine selections. Free valet parking was also a bonus.
I would recommend everything that we had: the Thai corn chowder, spicy pork lettuce wraps, pad Thai noodles, and the Scottish salmon.
This restaurant is definitely worth another visit soon!
It was great as ususal
We attended the Thai tasting (the third tasting we have attended). Unfortunately this one was not up to the high standard we have come to expect at Soba.
Went to SOBA as a group of five for our monthly dinner get-together. The atmosphere was great, our server was awesome- had a great understanding of the menu and had suggestions, and the drinks were delicious. Try the mushroom pad Thai for something different, two friends had the pork dumplings and said they were worth having again. It’s also worth mentioning that all staff we interacted with were great- from valet to front desk to our server and someone who took our plates. We all agreed that this is an overall completely stellar restaurant and we will definitely be back.
My birthday - they helped make
Special and the service and food were terrific
One of our favorite restaurants. Only complaint was the dumplings. They were chewy. Moderate priced Chinese restaurants such as KoMai in Squirrel Hill make ones with translucent dough
Soba used to be my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh however this was the first time that I have been disappointed with my meal. I wanted Pad Thai noodles without meat or seafood and they have a version that I thought looked on the menu that just substituted the chicken and shrimp with mushrooms. Unfortunately, I did not ask my waiter about this version. When it arrived it was clearly very different than the standard Pad Thai sauce than what one of my friends ordered. When they brought to the table and served it they said it was the vegan pad thai however this was not what was described on the menu. It was just okay and not at all what I envisioned. I would have just ordered the regular pad thai without the chicken and shrimp had I known that this version would have been so different.
My family has been going to Soba regularly since moving to Pittsburgh 12 years ago and we have found that quite a few of our favorite dishes have been discontinued and replaced with dishes that we don't like as much.
The service and ambiance were excellent as usual.
Food was ok ,average. A lot of unexpected spices added to fried rice and chicken appetizer . Sushi rolls were ok . Desert was very good . Nice atmosphere .
The ambiance was relaxing and beautiful.- wonderful for conversation. The waitress was very helpful with drinks choices- she brought out two beers to taste. We made dinner out of appetizers. They were all delicious. The char siu ribs were really good- and a huge portion. We had a great meal.
Food and service always good at soba, they were very accommodating when I added more people on my reservation on a busy Saturday night. Front desk people very nice ..the bar wasn’t as busy for a Saturday, even though we were seated at the bar it took a long time for take a drink order and pay. It still was a great night at Soba
Nothing special about the food. Quite ordinary and overpriced. Should have gone to Altiers
seem to have stepped it up a notch
bartenders very capble
Soba never disappoints. The black cod is extraordinary.
Staff were super friendly. Food wasn’t that great. Pad Thai was really good but wish it was spicier. The fried tofu was good but not enough spice and wish it was spicier.
Of all the Big Burritos (excluding Mad Mex, which is really its own category), Soba is the most vegetarian friendly. The atmosphere and service are always great too.
I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday. Our server, i believe his name was Joe, was excellent with service and recommending items on the menu. We got some great beer and wine during happy hour before and during our meal. We got the Chilean sea bass, rock shrimp tempura, and ribs. I was blown away by the quality and taste of the food. It came out in a very timely manner. I plan on becoming a reoccurring customer because it was fantastic!
Delicious food and excellent service!
We enjoyed this restaurant so much! Everyone so welcome and our server Missy was the best!! Food was delicious. We can’t wait to Go back
There were some pricy items, but I felt like you get a lot of food for the price! The shrimp tempura was amazing! Great drinks too!
Tasty cocktails and good portion sizes for the food. Our espressos came out room temp, which is the only negative from the night. A great spot to check out!
I absolutely loved Soba! Everything we had from the menu was to "die for". I especially loved the Chilean sea bass satay, and I could go on and on about everything else we tried (it is very easy to share plates here). We were very full but couldn't resist the dessert, and we did not regret that! The pretzel stack was amazing--chocolate and caramel lovers, you will be in heaven!
Our service was wonderful. Suggestions for dessert cheesecake was right on spot.
Manager Jeff came over to greet us and I was impressed that he remembered us from
a previous visit when I enjoyed the chef's sample dinner and 4 course selection
Definately felt special and will come back again and again
It was great. Food was excellent. Staff was nice!
Sadly disappointed in the experience. The dining room decor feels old and not pleasant - bar area looks nice. Had the Chinese new year menu which was a good deal but food was very disappointing, as were the other dishes we ordered. Won't be going back anytime soon. :(
A lot of Thai food. The banana split was amazing. I wouldn’t recommend the tea leaf salad, but the Pad Thai noodles & calamari (small plate) were both quite tasty.
When we there to have their Chinese New Year menu and it did not disappoint
Just a great place to have dinner and drinks
Outstanding from start to finish! We took our kids and spouses for a family gathering for evening out. Everything was on point.
Food was amazing. Just made reservations for 8 and didn’t get seated till 8:45 and then they forgot our order after a hr of waiting
The bartender was our server so tasting menu was not presented like it usually is. Food was very good though.
We spent Valentine's Day At Soba. We had previously spent New Year's Eve there, and had delicious food. We were in the mood for pad thai. It was a little too saucy for our liking. However, we had a great night, and we will return to the restaurant. The Maki Roll for dessert was very delicious.
Went for my son’s Valentines Day Birthday. Food was not as good as usual. Maybe because it was very busy. The service was great.
The food was outstanding and the cocktails were creative and delicious. The wine pairing was spot on, as well! The only slightly disappointing part was the profiteroles for dessert. The lemon curd was great but the profiteroles themselves we're definitely subpar.
Missy did a great job as our server. Food was outstanding.
Our entire evening was wonderful. Missy was awesome and really led us through a delightful meal!
