The music was way too loud. I asked for my salmon to be medium well & it was well done.
Lovely dining experience. Food was delicious and service great.
Great date spot!
Really fantastic food and very accommodating for vegan options!
I had the pad Thai which I love, but was a bit disappointed this time. I believe the sauce was different and not as tasty.
Amazing atmosphere, the staff was friendly and upbeat. The food is always amazing!!
The service was on the slow side, especially for the cocktail order. I did not care for the two maki rolls we had, the rest of the food was good.
Food is excellent. Restaurant is starting to get a bit dated, both in terms of appearance and the choice of menu items.
Came to Soba for our anniversary with very high hopes. Between 2 people, spent roughly $100 on food. While the service was very good, the food was not. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees. The appetizers we got were the crispy peanut tofu which was solid but had a very sharp smell. The rock shrimp was also not bad but came sitting in a puddle of oil. For our entrees we ordered the pad thai for $20+ and the Korean Fried Chicken which was even more. The food took a very very long time to come out. We never mentioned anything to the waitress but even she commented multiple times how long it was taking. When the food did come, it was a bit of a disappointment. The Korean fried chicken was so overcooked- my guess is it was left in the fryer way too long. The inside of the chicken was barely edible. The pad thai was slightly better but had a very bitter taste that pad thai doesn't traditionally have. There were also 2 shrimp, 2 small bits of chicken, 2 pieces of tofu and a heaping mound of bean sprouts and cilantro which was completely overwhelming and some needed to be removed. Overall, we came in with very high expectations and were very very very disappointed with the entrees, the wait time, and the overall experience. Probably would not recommend to a friend as prices were not consistent with the quality of food and attention to detail that we received.
This was our first inside dining experience in over 10 months. The food was excellent. The service level was adequate but not outstanding.
Another great experience at SOBA, with one notable exception. Nice & quiet, wonderful for an intimate dinner with friends or a date, food was exceptional, staff very professional. But. They now have this odd mask policy in place where guests are required to wear a mask at the table when service staff are also at the table. So every time your server comes to check on you, refill a drink, etc. you are required to put your mask back on. That's maybe a dozen times during a meal, and as it turns out it's very disruptive to the dining experience. I will not be returning to SOBA until this practice is discontinued.
I love this space! I took my friend out for her birthday. The waiter was awesome and the food was great. I don't mind paying more when the food quality justifies the cost.
My shaking beef was fabulous. Drinks were perfect and the service was great.
Delicious food and excellent service contributed to a lovely evening celebrating my birthday!!!!
This was my first dining experience in many months and Soba made it worthwhile. The food and service were great as always -- and they also did a great job with the socially distanced setup.
As always - excellent food, ambiance, drink selection. Great staff that makes you feel like you are in a special fun place. Covid safety is very good. One of the best Asian - fusion if not the best in the city. Great place for drinks normally , but restrictions are preventing that of course.
We had a girl’s night here to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and we had a wonderful experience at Soba.
We opted to order cocktails and small plates. We enjoyed the cucumber collins and green tea punch for cocktails and the dumplings, short rib egg rolls, salmon roll, California roll, rock shrimp tempura and chopped salad for dinner. It was really enjoyable to share and try alittle bit of everything. All of our food was super fresh and delicious, but my favorite dish was the short rib egg rolls.
The ambience is really nice-I love the casual, modern vibe. We received excellent service from the valet to the food, and we’ll definitely be back.
The food was delicious—every dish that we had, from appetizer to dessert, and THAT is really unusual.
The place to go for outstanding Asian fusion cuisine. The Thai duck and Korean fried chicken were delicious as was the crispy tofu appetizer.
Food was amazing as also. The service was terrible. I have been to multiple big burrito restaurants during this pandemic time and have never felt so uncomfortable as I did this evening at soba. The waitress made us feel as if we were all sitting there contaminated and could barely even serve us. I had to ask for water multiple times and when she finally brought it it was a she was completely disgusted that we would even ask for water. This is never been the case at any bigburrito group including soba which I have been to multiple times in the last couple months. It was very disappointing.
Superb as usual!
Have always wanted to try Soba, but left confused on what the fuss is about. The sushi was not very fresh and was very overpriced. The beer was room temperature. Their cocktails were very good, but because of the quality of the sushi and appetizers we had ordered, we left before even ordering main dishes.
We love Sobas!
Fantastic food, beautiful space, and excellent service all add up to one of Pittsburgh’s best restaurants. I love Soba.
I had made a reservation and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was extremely attentive, personable and professional. We order some sushi rolls, the pork lettuce wraps and spring rolls. All the food was wonderful in terms of taste, temperature and visuals. Sushi was good, but still on the hunt for something better in Pittsburgh (or perhaps it will never compare to Boston and Chicago). We also had cocktails that were delicious. Thank you!
Everything was wonderful. One criticism: Perhaps put a small dinner salad on the menu. Paying 12 for a side salad is a bit much.
Otherwise we had a delightful time and loved everything we ate. Great service too! O the cocktails were divine !!!
Was amazing food and service. Atmosphere and decoration was outstanding loved it!
Me and girlfriend went fir Valentine’s day dinner. Was very nice and our appetizers were very good. Noting that it’s a Japanese fusion restaurant, was a little odd they didn’t have many vegetarian options for entrees. Overall was a good restaurant tho.
The food portion sizes were huge. My wife and I could have ordered one appetizer and one entree and been totally satisfied. The total price was high relative to other places to dine in Pittsburgh.
Everything we had was delicious, recommend the short rib egg rolls, and the chirashi bowl. Wait staff was kind and attentive, was perfect for Valentine's day!
Excellent dining experience. Loved the ahi tuna entree. Strict adherence to Covid precautions was much appreciated. Delightful service.
Incredible Valentine's Day spot! Gorgeous decor, terrific sushi & appetizers (crispy artichokes, spare rib egg rolls), luscious sophisticated cocktails and main dishes (miso-seared black cod). All staff start to finish were super friendly and approachable.
Slower drink service but excellent food and fun atmosphere.
Over priced good for just an ok taste. Sushi roll was just ok the blackened cod ramen was burnt not blackened. But the actual ramen had good flavor
Great place! Love the whole vibe!
Great as always!
Soba is one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh. Food is always awesome as well as the service and atmosphere. Valet parking is also a nice touch. We had the short rib egg rolls which were great , the pad thai is the best I have had and the salmon was perfect also.
Very good food and service. I loved their Banh Mi and California roll. The Chicken curry noodles was ok. Portions are generous.
Service is excellent.
We were celebrating a wedding and wanted to go for a nice dinner. Food was great, as always. Atmosphere and service were lovely and relaxed.
We always enjoy the Asia fusion cuisine at SOBA. This was first time eating indoors in a LONG while, and the restaurant too a lot of precautions to keep us safe. The server was attentive and we enjoyed the meal.
