Thank you! The seating was perfect
Been to Soba before ... very disappointed this time .. party upstairs which obviously was most important to the restaurant
No raw sushi.. only rolls ... what ????? Not acceptable!!!
Chairs with broken or semi broken/ wabbley legs - waiter said “we are on the last of our chairs ... most are upstairs!!” - brilliant statement to a paying customer !!! Thanks. Won’t be back when there are other choices in pgh
It was great!
Love this place!!!
I've had several items on the menu. Food is always fantastic. Date night and family dinner friendly. Highly recommend.
Had my birthday dinner there. We brought our own cake and apparently not many people celebrate birthday there, coz the front service had no idea what to do with our cake. Kinda awkward for a while.
Our waiter and the food were very nice and good. They prepared the cake really nice. Overall it was very nice dinner.
I asked for a quiet corner and we did get one. Thanks!
Had a great time on a first date. Will be back forsure
Staff was patient and accommodating of our change of plans on a busy night. Menu is varied and interesting - enough different to be fun/unique but not so far out as to be unappealing. Highly recommend.
The food and service were excellent. The presentation was very creative.
Loved the food (bi bim bop), service was great, restaurant was busy. Not sure why all of these restaurants have men in suits walking around eyeing you up...that’s annoying. But everything else was great!
I had dinner on a mid-week night, Tuesday, and was glad that there was a full crowd. I had a friend in from NYC who loves and kid knows the best NYC restaurants. He absolutely LOVED SOBA. I picked SOBA because my wife like to go there and have always had great meals and service and, for my friend, had a superb experience. My friend had the tuna tart app and the cod entree; I had the tuna sushi roll and the seared ahi tuna steak - seared and cooked medium rare. our server was the best; the atmosphere created the NYC vibe. cannot say enough about SOBA. - always always the best
We had wonderful service from the minute we walked in the door and the host greeted us. Our server helped us navigate the menu since it was the first time we had been there. The food runner gave me instructions on how the chef recommended to eat the dish I ordered which was greatly appreciated. The food and drinks were all amazing and we appreciated the “mock”tails on the drink menu. Oh, and make sure to save room for dessert! I had the pretzel stack which was delicious!!! We’ll definitely be back!
The food was good and special attention was paid to dietary concerns in our party.
Expensive but worth it
Found the service particularly slow, both for drinks and then bringing out our food courses.
Great environment, comfort, and food. Valet parking a real plus.
Our waiter was the best service I’ve had
Most of the meals were fine but mine was very bland. I got the Pad Thai mushroom noodles and there was no flavor to it at all. I was almost in edible. The waiter brought some hot sauce but it actually just made it too hot to eat then. Our waiter was fantastic. He was very accommodating with our birthday cake.
Our waitstaff, Allison?, was well versed on the menu. Big Borrito ( parent company) trains their staff and it shows. All questions were answered accurately. C Drinks were well prepared and served punctually. My Duck was full of flavor and very lean, but not dry. DS meal was well tuned to the other selections. We shared the black cod satay which was scrumptious. REALLY did not want to share after taking a delightful bite. Our guests loved Soba and their food selections. We can't wait to return!!
Phenomenal birthday dinner yet again. Our waitress Ashley was spectacular, and even toyed with the lighting to ensure we got a memorable picture.
Dim Sum was delicious.
Was kind of bummed when they sat us upstairs, the aesthetic downstairs is much cooler. When comparing this to Asian restaurants my boyfriend and I loved when we lived in philly, the food fell short. The dumplings were undercooked and there was barely any lobster in the lobster tacos. That being said, the duck lo Mein and spicy salmon roll were delicious! Overall a great experience, I just wish some of the dishes had a little more flavor.
Great food including ginger fried rice and bok Choi and mushroom stir fry! Service was good. Enjoyed a nice glass of wine during happy hour!
What a great dinner. The food was fantastic. We really enjoyed the edamame hummus, the chopped salad, and the rock shrimp. All prepared well, presented nicely, and quite tasty! Service was fast and friendly. All told a great experience the only problem is we were visiting from out of town so we can’t go back this week!
Good food- poor service and attention from all the staff. No one at front desk upon arrival. Waited more than 10 mins for a table past reservation time. Seated in bar at a cocktail table and had inattentive waiter.
As always, Soba is a favorite of ours; however, service on this most recent visit was not as good as it often is ... water glasses were not refilled; plates cleared a bit too quickly though food was excellent ... we will be back in a few weeks and hope it's a true five star experience.
Sobs is beautifully decorated with a great ambiance and also, due to separate areas or alcoves of seating, very quiet. Food is pretty unique and excellent. The whole experience, from hostess on, was terrific.
Went to Soba for our anniversary. It was fantastic! Started with a Last Word cocktail, delicious. And love that they use Bluecoat Gin. The food was great, and although a little splurgy for us, it didn't break the bank. The service was great and they wished us a happy anniversary. <3 Will definitely be coming back.
One of the best in Pittsburgh! This Asian-fusion has amazing food with wonderful options for vegans and meat lovers. Don't miss the crab soup, the duck, and the lettuce wraps. Beautifully designed with a nice bar area and great happy hour. Too loud for a business dinner, but perfect for a night out with friends. Some small hiccups with service over several visits but this restaurant is not to missed if you're in Pittsburgh.
We love Soba and have been here many times. Our last visit was a bit disappointing. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. Our drinks arrived fairly quickly. Our appetizers arrived fairly quickly, but one was prepared incorrectly and had to be sent back. Our main course took a v-e-r-y long time to arrive. The restaurant seemed overwhelmed and unable to keep up with the crowd. Our server apologized to us multiple times - it became embarrassing and we finally asked her to PLEASE stop apologizing for every little thing. The steamed vegetable dumplings were a little tough, but tasty. The shrimp tempura was outstanding although a smaller portion from what I remember from previous visits. My husband had the main dish ahi tuna and enjoyed it very much. My sister and I split the mushroom fried rice. The flavor was outstanding and we enjoyed the large chunks of delicious mushrooms. We were full and passed on dessert. Our waitress was a little odd and too chatty (oversharing personal details) for our tastes, but someone else may enjoy that. We had to hunt down the valet to get our car back at the end of the night. We love Soba and have enjoyed our experiences there in the past. We'll chalk this one up to an off night. We'll probably avoid Saturday nights in the future with the hopes for a smaller crowd.
Waitress spilled entire glass of beer on my partner and me. We had to sit through the entire meal with completely soaked pants and clothes. Food was not impressive, tasted nothing asian. Bad fusion.
Food was good. Service was very slow. Also, I received a call asking me to confirm my reservation. I called back and no one answered. I feel like having to call back to confirm a reservation defeats the purpose of making a reservation on open table.
Atmosphere was relaxing and hip at the same time. All the food was superb. Our Server was attentive and friendly.
Lovely quiet dinner with a pleasant waitress and good food
The food was delicious and service excellent . Our party of 4 ordered many appetizers and shared. The sea bass was the best!
Soba is consistently great - food, service, everything. Highly recommend.
We sat near the open window, a gentle breeze blowing, within a dimly lit corner. Quiet, peaceful, attentive...mouthwatering cuisine of tuna, cod, calamari, edamame hummus, accompanied by a bottle of white Chablis, finished with an assortment of sorbet, blackberry/lemon, coconut, blood orange - Delish!
Superb mixed drinks . The darn and stormy had enough rum that l could taste. Excellent and well prepared dishes nicely presented
Good meal. Too many speakers. I don’t think I’ve had a meal there where I didn’t wish I could control the volume of the music.
