We were very disappointed. I got an Arsenal fighting Elleck. Says it is 7 oz for $8. It came in a champagne flute which looked less than 7 oz. I looked on line for how many ounces are in a champagne flute. It said 6 oz....not 7 oz. I then got a Kahleesi drink....not good at all...tasted like soap. Lastly, I asked for leftovers to go. For some reason the waitress decided I didn’t want the left over sea bass, only the tofu. Not sure why ...I had combined the 2 on the plate. I only wanted the sea bass given it was $12 for 2 skewers. We left the food given no sea bass. The waitress asked at the beginning of the meal if we were celebrating anything. It came out that our anniversary was in 2 days. Nothing was mentioned again. Not sure if Soba does anything for anniversaries or birthdays. Well!!....with everything that happened I would have thought there’d be another order of seabass (1 skewer) or something removed from the bill. Nothing!
Nice special occasion restaurant! Food is always great as is service.
Couldn't decide where to eat so came back for dinner and happy hour in the lounge at Soba again! Trying to break away and try new items so got a few small plates. The soft shell crab bao bun was tasty with a small kick. The Korean fried chicken was good too but definitely an enjoyable kick! Loved the Chilean Sea Bass Satay, yum! Service at the bar by Nicky was excellent, friendly and very informative with suggestions! Enjoy happy hour at the bar with drink specials only including nice selection of wines for $6 (half price)!
The salmon dish is very good, but the pad thai dishes are very disappointing.
We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. Our appetizers and entrees both came out very late - there was overall a lot of waiting. Not my favorite Soba experience!
Perfect evening, good food, service and atmosphere. I will definitely go back.
Very Good Eats
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at SOBA. Made a reservation online and received a phone call the day before from them to confirm. Showed up 30 mins early and they sat us right away. Food and service was excellent. The atmosphere is unique because of how the restaurant is laid out in different rooms and on different floors. Definitely going back after this excellent first-time experience.
Fun. Great service, Steven, wonderful manager, Jeff.
The food was great! Our server, Sara, was great! The noise level was perfectly low!
Wish I lived here so I could go there more often!
One of the top dining experiences in the city!
I ordered bi bam bap. The rice did not have a crunchy crust on the bottom as it should have, that was disappointing. The waitress was in a big hurry to remove our appetizers before we were even finished. My husband had to flag her down to refill his empty water glass.
Delicious! Not crowded at 530pm on a Friday! So casual...my kind of place.
Tasty crispy tofu app; delicious duck with miso; great house made Kim chee.
Nice low key ambiance appropriate for an Asian fusion restaurant with very tasty food, good drinks & very good service. Highly recommend it AND it's open on Monday, pretty rare in Pittsburgh.
love soba! my go to favorite!!! best restaurant in the city
I have been to Soba several times and typically have a great experience. Bar staff is really great but wait staff could use direction.
This particular evening I reserved a table for five, sat down to a table set for 4, and had trouble even getting extra utensils/ menu.
Waitress was not very knowledgeable nor attentive. One order was a split order and the split that that chef provided was so unequal it was hilarious. Food was ok, on the whole most dishes were a little too saucy so that all you could really taste was the sauce versus it being an accompaniment.
Not a great experience but since I’ve had great past experiences, I will chalk this up to a bad night.
Soba never disappoints! Maybe my fave place ever.
The service is great in restaurant but bar area service needs to improve
The food was delicious, wholesome, and not too salty. It came out in a very timely manner. There was great ambiance; the servers were friendly and kind. It reminded me of a place one might find in California. HIgh class for a reasonable price.
The food was great. Our service could have been better. Our waitress clearly was less interested in taking care of us ( 3 people) than the larger group of 8 nearby.
Very disappointed with the poor service and lack of attention to details.
The special Songkran Night Market menu is terrific, and cocktails are always worth the trip. Especially nice sitting in a small booth in front of the water wall. Service is always on point.
Especially good was the crispy noodle salad and the taro ice cream with mango, lychee and toasted coconut.
Excellent food and service. Our server Nicholas was knowledgeable and not obtrusive, and very accommodating. Many choices of small plates from the Thai Night Market Festival that made it fun to share. We had a great time. Bravo Big Burrito and Chef Lily.
My husband and I went to the Thai Water Festival. Our faves were the Mango salad and the Nam Kao Tod! Both were absolutely delicious! A new development which is really helpful is the addition of allergen information to the menu items. As someone who is GF and DF, this was a nice change . Nick the server was also good but then the servers usually are. Soba constantly strives to better itself and be relevant. That is one reason that we have been coming to this restaurant for 20+ years!
Very good food, we ordered traditional items including the Spicy Pork Lettuce Wraps, Dumplings and Salmon. All were top notch and would get again.
Outstanding dinner. Only complaint is the chair wasn’t very comfortable. Otherwise all excellent.
Food prepared well. Good size portions, small plates portions maybe even too big. Service was so so, a bit slow.
A wonderful place for good food and conversation! Would recommend to anyone that wanted to enjoy a nite out with someone they love.
Tofu and hummus appetizers were amazing!
Main entrees were prepared perfectly!
Service was good!
Amazing food...Amazing service....Beautiful Atmosphere....it was a bit loud but you'll have that on a busy night. Would love to see more gluten free desserts!
We had the perfect evening! Perfect food, personable waiter, good wine to pick from, quiet and wonderful atmosphere. We will be going back.
I went to Soba with my fiance to celebrate my fiance's birthday. All members of the staff were friendly and attentive, the food was amazingly beautiful and even more delicious, and they decorated the dessert plate for the occasion which was a nice touch. One of the best dinners both of us have experienced. I highly recommend Soba for any special occasion dinner.
One of my favorites
The food and service were good. Our server appeared to have a lot of tables and it took a while to get more water. We weren’t asked if we wanted more wine when our glasses were empty.
Soba never disappoints! Exceptional service, fresh and creative food, and you can actually hold a conversation without shouting across the table!
Always consistent, food and presentation excellent...the flavors and different spices / herbs work together so welll. Our favorite pgh restaurant And service is always good
Fun cocktails and fusion food. Very nice new decoration. We have been regular customer for years. A great place.
Wonderfully flavored food and warm, friendly service. What's not to like??
Tell tale sign: I'm coming back! Great food in cool setting. Need to fix the waterfall on the sides ;-)
