Excellent food and service! My friend had the tenderloin medallions and I had the seared Ahi tuna - both were excellent! We started with the spicy pork lettuce wraps which were fantastic, and the short rib egg rolls (very good but you need to roll it in the sauce). Loved the hostesses, waitress, and food service (delivery) staff.
Great food as always, bad service--first time; hopefully an outlier.
Wuhan virus ambiance as good as it could be!!!
Everything was great except for the person who sat us. Not very pleasant person especially after we asked to be seated in a bigger table. The front of the house is the first impression. I’ve eaten here for over 15 years and never experienced that.
Our daughter’s birthday. Nice to share small plates and large plates. Very convivial. Great Asia fusion flavors.
Food was excellent, well presented. Wonderful evening dining on patio. Go, enjoy!
Nice night... great servers, very attentive and helpful.... food was a little spicy for us, but very good drinks, will be back.
Service was horrible. Most of the staff seemed annoyed.
From the cool interior to the interesting menu Soba is our destination for Asian cuisine. Delicious tempura shrimp, a Bahn mi sandwich and Pad Tahi plus a tasty sparkling rose!
Had pork dumplings, gin cocktail, tuna entree. All was well prepared, presented and very tasty. Gemma was terrific and a very helpful server.
Very good food and service. Pleasantly improved from the last visit!
The menu is expanding and has all the favorites which were well made and served. The restaurant was busy but well spaced so that we had privacy and could have a 'date night'. The server was attentive but not intrusive.
Overall, an excellent experience.
Soba is always an interesting choice and the food choices continue to feature new dishes and oldies. Sitting out on the patio is not ideal. Windows open make it cold and heaters barely take off the chill. Next time i will eat indoors.
Excellent experience. Great food, ambiance and service. Will definitely return.
Great to be back! Good social distancing measures. Food a bit too spicy...
The entire experience was out of this world incredible. At the end of the day, the service was what took it from a 9 to a 25. Thank you again!
Soba is our go to restaurant for Asian fusion cuisine. Chef Amy Tran is always on target. Crispy tofu, Korean BBQ, Thai curry chicken, yum!
It took a little time to get our 2nd drink. We ordered them in between our appetizer and main course, but we didn't receive it until after we were finished and boxing up our food.
Amazing food and great ambiance
Great restaurant! Loved the ambiance. The variety of food was excellent and very high quality. Would highly recommend.
So great to have Soba back open. Due to Coronavirus it had been closed, but it's BACK!!! Go support this local business.
Birthday. Party for our 24 years old daughter was great fun. Delicious cocktails, excellent dishes better than ever food, seems to be improving even after all these years. Have been coming here since it opened over 20 years. Loving it every time.
Food was good but they are amiss bringing all the small plates out at the same time. Usually small plates come out one at a time so you can enjoy them while they are hot and graze. Lettuce wrap was super spicy and it took the waiter a long time to bring me water. My husband was about to get up and find water. This is Covid time and they sat us upstairs in what I guess they could call outdoor seating, was super hot the moment we walked into the space from the heat of the day burning down and I sat the whole time with the sun shining on me. They had curtains but more for the cold as they had windows in them. They knew I was uncomfortable but did not care, somehow they could have put up something over the window part of the curtain. We were given choice of two places to sit, choose one, thought it would be better away from the sun but was not so we moved to the other offered. They never cleaned the seats we sat at.
Great social distancing. Wonderful food. Lovely wait staff.
Great service - food/drinks excellent
Terrific cuisine and exceptional service as always!
Out of isolation
Our server was amazing. Was attentive but not overly so, and was helpful with making menu decisions and recommendations.
Soba felt very safe and clean. The patio is perfect for those who want to eat at a restaurant, but still be outside. So happy with the experience and can’t wait to return.
One of the reasons we love this restaurant is because we love the very cool vibe in the bar. We were extremely surprised to learn that we couldn’t go into the bar to have a drink before dinner unless we stayed there and ate dinner at the bar. We were told that that they would have to re-sanitize when we left the bar after drinks to go to our table. The cost/benefit of having to do this seems to tip heavily toward the customer experience rather than the inconvenience of having to re-sanitize. It has been our experience that this is the only restaurant group in Pittsburgh that has this rule.
First dining in venture during COVID-19 green phase. Appreciated being seated outside since that was the only way we felt comfortable going to the restaurant. Many thanks to Jeffrey the GM for his help with that! Service was friendly and efficient. Food great as always. Never disappointed in Soba!
I have always been a fan of Big Burrito restaurants and recommend them often. My dinner on Saturday, June 20, was disappointing. I selected the Shaking Beef entree, the most expensive dish on the menu. From past experiences, I know that entrees always include several tasty additions and flavorful sauces. My date's salmon entree, for example, included asparagus, bok choy, and an avocado puree.
My dish featured a large filet mignon, with little if any sauce, a handful of colorless arugula, and a flavorless tomato...with no dressing. I had to request some salt to make the tomato bearable.
Also, my reservation stated an outdoor seat, but I was seated inside. I did not raise the issue, as I was unsure of the covid-19 restrictions.
Overall, the service and atmosphere at Soba are always good.
It’s a favorite restaurant of ours , but service wasn’t great this time. Waited for drinks before and during meal... maybe they are just working out kinks of new WSU of doing things. The good was great though
We were so impressed by the portion size of the small plates. Service was attentive and not overbearing. A very wonderful experience
Our server Denee was fantastic and the food was just as good! We chose many small plates to share and love the variety and good wine. Loved the fact we sat near the open window for a lovely breeze especially during the crazy pandemic. Tables spaced apart safely. Nice decor too. Our daughter was visiting from Brooklyn and loved it.
One of our favorite pgh restaurants
We were so happy that they were following protocol and practicing social distancing. Tables were spaced very far apart and windows were open
The food always good !
Given the current COVID-19 situation, SOBA staff did a remarkable job in ensuring both our safety and comfort. The food was delicious and service was prompt. We look forward to visiting again.
Soba did a very nice job with social distancing placement of guests and all staff were wearing a mask.
Staff was amazing. Food fantastic. Never disappoints.
We need the sea bass skewers!!!!! Restaurant has done a great job of readying for green phase.
First dining out experience since everything was locked down. They were doing an excellent job adjusting to the differences. Service is a little different than it used to be, not bad, just different - and everything was excellent.
