Snuffy's Steakhouse and Pantagis Renaissance Ratings and Reviews
The selection at the buffet was good and our waiter was nice, however the restaurant decor is very outdated and the food was average. It was our first time there for brunch and probably our last, the brunch crowd seemed to be more for senior citizens then young families.
There were 19 of us Saturday night for the Land and Seafood Buffet. That included 5 children between 6 and 8. They enjoyed it and the adults really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the waiter staff was very attentive. Would love to do this again and have told several people about it.
Maybe this was an off night but we were not impressed with any of the food. It was a Tuesday night and I was told that the food changes on the Buffet depending on the weekday. There was a decent variety of food considering the price was only $9.95. The best item was the yellow cake with layered chocolate inside. In our party, there were (5) and none of us cared for any of the (3) soup's they offered. We're actually seeking a place for a wedding and wanted to sample the lower items prior to the higher items. This place is beautiful but skip the Tuesday night buffet. Possibly try one of the other day's of the week. Also a 20% tip is added on "everyone's" bill - no matter the quantity of people you may have.
Gratuity should be applied to a bill if it is a large group. I do not feel 5 is a large group. Our bill added $21 and some cents for gratuity we were 5 n one child (6 yr old) our server came to the table exactly 2 yes two times our entire dining time. We sat 25 minutes waiting for him to be in sight to ask for our bill. This is very upsetting know he did not deserve or earn his $21.00 plus tip. I suggest someone be aware of the inconsistentcy of being serviced when the server knows gratuity is applied. We are generous tippers when service is warranted our generosity, unfortunately it wasn't on this Sunday.
Friend and I went for Wednesday Buffet.
The table service is almost non-existent. We were seated promptly and waited 10 minutes for water to be placed in our goblets. Five minutes later a waiter came over to take our drink order. Neither of us ordered liquor and I had to ask what the procedure was to use the buffet. My friend had a soda and I had hot tea.
During our buffet experience no one ever came over to offer to refill drinks. I signaled a bus boy for water refill.
All and all, because of the quality and selection of food and options, I think it is a value for the price. Just be prepared to be very assertive to get table service.
As expected for Mother's Day brunch, it was hectic. I went with a large group, so we had our own table. The waitress was attentive, and our table kept her busy. Food was good, a large selection to choose from...our group ranged from 8 yrs old to 60 yrs young and there was a variety of food that made the kids to adults happy.
We had a large group of 17 for the seafood dinner buffet. It was amazing. Something for everyone, even the non-seafood eaters. The platters of crab legs that came out were amazing and huge! We had an amazing time, and their was live music right near us, which added to our fun.
The food was ok. It's called brunch, but there was no breakfast items. The staff serving at the carving station has no idea about what she was serving. One of the staff did not cover his mouth when he coughed and he was infront of the food tray. The shrimp did not taste good. There were a lot of desserts and they were very tasty. A lot of the main courses were not labeled so we didn't know what we were getting. I wouldn't come back again. It appears to me that the staff were overworked.
This place is way to loud. It's no place to take your spouse on a romantic date. The live music on Saturday is way too loud and don't allow you to even carry a conversation with your date, or your party of people. We went Valentine's weekend 2013 and they had a lady singing who was extremely loud and just wanted to hear herself. We told the waiter can he ask her to turn it down and she did at first but eventually turned her speakers back up again. Although the food is great I would never return here because of the loud music they play during dinner, we thought we were at a club and this place is too fancy for that type of atsmophere.
I had always thought that Snuffy's was a fancier place than it turned out to be. The prices were lower than I'd expected and we were overdressed compared to the other patrons, but the food was EXCELLENT! We also liked the live music. Made it feel like we were on a cruise ship for a couple hours. Definitely enjoyed it and will return. Might not wait for a special occasion. Their buffets sound great.
Looks very fancy from outside. (Big building) Inside looks kind of fancy and antique.
The service was ok. I didn't get what I ordered.(med. rare steak, but came out with well done burnt steak, completely dried out.) The vegetables were no taste, bland and no flavor. When the steak came out the waiter gave me the plate which was hot. I ended up using bottled steak sauce. We would not go back again.. disappointment.
The place is beautiful from the outside and the inside is very rich looking. The stained glass ceilings and oak paneled walls are a treat for the eyes. However, what I expected to see was not what I got. This is not a restaurant. Rather, it is a huge dining hall, and as a result it is extremely noisy. If you want a wonderful meal in a nice looking place, then by all means this is for you. If you are looking for an intimate setting, stay away. It is basically a fancy army mess hall.
Saturday night buffet was exceptionally good. we took my parents to Snuffy's for my father's birthday, and all four of us were AMAZED by the abundance of food and the quality of everything, particularly the desserts. Our server was very helpful and friendly. Buffets can usually be hit-or-miss, but this one did not disappoint. Snuffy's is tucked within Pantagis, and there was a wedding party in progress, but the restaurant is far removed from any of the bustle and noise of the wedding because of the size of the facility. We are a half-hour away from Snuffy's, but it will be worth the trip to return, and we will soon.
