WINE DIVE - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
One of my favorite spots in West Palm Beach. Always great food and an interesting wine list. I love the big red banquettes for intimate dining and conversation. This last trip I had the catch of the day, which was diver scallops with risotto and fresh peas and pancetta. It was amazing! My dinner partner had the shrimp and spinach fettucine which was delicious. We love to start with the charcuterie, which has a nice mix of cheeses and cured meats. Can't wait to go back!
We were 7 people for a table at 10pm on New Year's Eve. We had never been here before. This was the only place on the strip where we could get a reservation, so we weren't expecting much. What a surprise that the decor, ambiance, music, crowd, and food were all very good. Not a huge variety of food, but an interesting selection, and tapa-like portions or dinner size portions of food were offered. It was all quite tasty. Large selection of wines, of-course. The have very comfy booths for four to six people that make great conversation pits. Service was not great, but it was New Year's Eve, so there was more business and more distractions than usual. We enjoyed out 2 hours there, and they even gave everyone a free glass of champagne at midnite.
Fun restaurant with very good casual food. But, given its a wine bar, the server was unskilled at opening a bottle (even broke the cork), wine was warm and not proper temp for a red, and sever forgot to put in complete order and disappeared once food was delivered. The manager needs to do some serious training and get a wine fridge for your better reds.
Food is great! Lots of unique small plates and they are the perfect size! Servers are very friendly, but just seem stretched to thin with many tables. This is the second time I have been and had this experience. When our server came to the table he was great, but he seemed to take quite bit of time in between. Overall, great place and would definitely dine again.
Service is very subpar here and it wasn't just this one time. Place was empty on a Saturday night at 9pm. My guess it's cause the service is bad and there are many choices near by. Food was decent, would go back if service was better, but when the server doesn't care about service, drinks took 30 mins, food took about 50 mins and what should be a 60-90min dinner turns into a 2.5 hour process, who wants to go back?
Food was excellent - flavor, presentation, preparation. Enjoyed the film clip shown on the restaurant projector screen showing the culinary team preparing different food items. Our server Samantha is a gem! Knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, not afraid to make recommendations, and good follow-up. Definitely be back
Out of town at bike festival on Clematis St. Nice and close. Took reservations. It wasn't that busy so was skeptical, but glad we stayed. Cheese and chaceuterie plate was awesome. Big wine selection. Weren't sure we were at right place because all the signs said Wine Dive, not Snooty's?
I have been here several times and love the food. I always get the charcuterie to start because of the pairing with a great wine list. I have also had the tuna poke and it truly could be a meal in itself rather than an appetizer.
I am a huge fan of the lobster risotto. I have always gotten at least two huge chunks of claw meat every single time.
Hostess was very rude. Questioned me as to where and who I spoke to about a reservation for the day we dined. Was very short and condescending with me and my partner. Informed us they could still seat us , but could only have the table for an hour and a half.
Not a good way to greet consumers !
A bit disappointing actually.
We went on the 18th, the day after St. Patricks Day and it showed. Nobody wanted to be there, at the end of the night, neither did we.
From the hostess to the waiter, bartender and probably the cooks. They all looked, acted and performed hungover.
Our waiter gave his best but it was obvious.
The wine was over priced but average. Granted the $40 bottle of wine half price on Wednesdays is a good deal but not when it tastest like a $10 bottle.
The food was average, heck my chicken was cold.
The food was very good but our server is what made the night. HIs name was Elijah
He was very personalble as well as knowledgable of the way the menu worked and how things were going to go. He gave great guidance about the menu and made great recomendations on the drink list.
It was very refreshing to be able to have a person that didn't just come to the table and take an order…you could tell he was great at what he did and he gave off the apperance that he was very vested in the success of the restaurant and went out of his way to make sure things were going great.
Unless you are 22 years old. Went for happy hour one day and it was great. Heard great things about their brunch, made a reservation a month in advance. They cancelled it the day before, claimed they called and left a message. What is the point of a reservation? Doesn't that mean you are coming unless you call to cancel? Ended up waiting on the curb 40 minutes with a baby in tow. Given the loud bass cranking out of there (on a Sunday) and the people getting plowed on mimosas it was probably a blessing. Went down the street and got seated immediately without a reservation. They clearly were not interested in catering to our "older" 40ish crowd. The happy hour food was ok as was the sangria but the whole brunch thing was unprofessional.
Wine Dive is a perfect venue for a fun, lively and delicious weekend brunch with a chic vibe. Out-of-town guests always appreciate the menu and love the atmosphere. While some of the service professionals are all stars, others could use some serious hospitality and service training.
I came here for my 21st birthday dinner with a group of friends. I was so excited to come to such a beautiful place for dinner. Yet the service we received was horrible. We were crammed into a smaller table in the front where it was hot and we were continuously being knocked by people standing right behind and to the side of us. When we asked to move we were told that was not possible, despite the fact that the back of the restaurant was empty and tables were plentiful. It took us 45 minutes to have our order taken and that was only after I tracked down our waiter. The food was delicious but the service, or lack there of, ruined the experience for us all. I am doubtful that I will return again.
We had gone to the wine dive many times previously and sat in the front high top tables with a group and never had any issues until yesterday. While sitting and having fun with guests the server took it upon herself to tell us that we only had a total of 1 1/2 -2 hr max at the table, because according to her if we were allowed to sit there all day she wouldn't make any money. I understand turning tables however we have never had an issue in the past, it's wasn't like we weren't ordering food and drinks. The server who obviously doesn't major in customer satisfaction needs to understand what industry she is in. We had 7 people and were waiting on approx. 6-8 more who were on the way. I hope management addresses this problem. Go to Grease!
Cute place and nice ambiance. We had a very hard time getting our waiter to come to our table for anything. We waited 20 minutes after getting our drinks for him to take our food order (we had to ask another staff member to send him over). After that it wasn't until we'd had our food for 30 minutes that he came back to ask how we were, and we waited even longer for him to bring us the check. They also didn't check off my reservation, even though I specifically let them know I had one and the name on it.
I've dined here previously under their old title "The Wine Dive", and while I've heard 'Snooty's' was the original idea for the name, I'm still getting used to it.
Upon arrival, I told the hostess that I had a reservation and she offered us seating wherever we pleased; we chose the bar, as our favorite waiter/bartender Anthony, was running the bar that morning. He greeted us and, surprisingly, he remembered our names (my sister and I)!
We ordered off of the Lunch menu, opting for a Vegetable Flatbread (5 stars, by the way) and an arugula salad with goat cheese & strawberries. Of course we got the unlimited $10 mimosa deal - because why not?
It's a great spot with a fun wine list and fantastic service.
When I looked at the reviews on Yelp and saw that it had 3 1/2 stars while others nearby had 4 stars, I almost went elsewhere. I'm glad I didn't, the food was fanatastic, great wines and all by the glass, tasting portions of wine. Everything we ordered was delicious. It was a bit noisy from the Happy Hour crowd but that was fine. It didn't detract from the meal at all.
We have been there multiple times with a small group. The food is always good. The wine is excellent. The selection is nice. One warning: if you have a group of people and you eat at The Wine Dive in the evening, it will probably be tough to hear each other, so be prepared to just talk to the people immediately around you. Lots of sound reflecting around in the evening. Don't let that scare you though. Good stuff!
