Great spot for post movie dinner. Delicious food. Excellent service. Perfect neighborhood spot.
lovely clean neighbor spot but food portions are so small compared to price paid a little more on the plate would make me go back sadly we will not
Food was delicious, healthy pours with the beverages and all around great service! Branzino was divine. Lamb shank was amazing falling off the bone. Rice pudding perfect sweetness!
Lots of tapas to choose from - great for sharing. Food was good!
Quick bite to eat and their Chicken entrée was enough for two people. The hummus is made to order and tasted delicious! Great ambiance and service on a rainy Thursday :) will return again.
Great pre-theater place. We arrived only one hour before curtain and the kept pace brsik for us so we could be out in 45 minutes. Great small plates selection.
We come to ny for business every year usually go to snack Eos uptown but unfortunately they closed this year. So we went to the West Village Because this restaurant has the same menu.
My husband and I are always trying out grilled octopus at every restaurant and honestly this is the best one that we've had. !!!
The place is not super fancy it's very down to earth, very authentic Greek food really delicious and friendly.
The lamb shank falls off the bone is to die for I have not had anything bad ever in the 4 years!!!
And the baklava is like no baklava I've ever had Delicious Like angels wings.
Go Check it out!!!
Amazing spinach triangles. And loved the white Santorini wine.
Lovely, West Village spot for delicious Greek food
Food was great, service bad
So happy I found this place! Great pre-theater spot for Cherry Lane/Lortel shows. Food was delicious. We shared the brussel sprouts, sautéed calamari and the stuffed pepper. All were so good. The calamari had a nice kick to it, if you like spicy. YUM!!
Fun place with very nice people and a good menu. Ordering several plates to share is a good way to go here, and timing never seems to be an issue - fast or slow, they get it done however you like.
Sunday afternoon late brunch. Food was fresh and good, but lamb burgers overcooked. Otherwise everything else was up to snuff. Friendly staff. Delicious Baklava!
This was our second time eating at Snack Taverna. The food did not disappoint us. We ordered small plates and enjoyed all our dishes. My only complaint- and not the restaurants fault- was the large coned truck immediately outside the restaurant. It blocked the beautiful view of this part of the Village. We will be back soon
Enjoyed an early Saturday night dinner and found the restaurant to be charming, with delicious food and helpful waitstaff. Since we didn't know any Greek wines, we especially appreciated the recommendation for a wine to accompany dinner. We opted to share a selection of the small bites, rather than individual meals, and would definitely recommend that approach if you have a group. Will definitely return.
Cute, cozy restaurant on a tucked away corner in the Village with indifferent service and fair food. Meh.
Snack Taverna always has excellent seasonal Greek choices, service is always good, but the noise level made it impossible to carry on a conversation.
The food was delicious. It was served promptly while still piping hot.
I have gone to Snack Taverna many times for dinner and have always found the food and service great. I came for Sunday brunch for the first time last week and while the restaurant was nearly empty, it took over 45 minutes to receive our food. The service was bad and we had to ask about where our food was on multiple occasions. Once we received our omelets, the eggs were overcooked and yet the cheese was not melted at all inside. I found the food below average and was very disappointed by the overall experience. Will likely not dine here again...
Lamb & eggs was original and delicious! Did not appreciate that our server tried to upsell us toast without telling us that the dish already came with toast!
The service was awful but the food is so damn good.
Went there because of promotion by Cherry Lane Theater, one block away. The handicap access was poor but the staff helped. Ordered a Meze selection, which was OK but a little too peppery for some. Small dish veal meatballs were delicious. The whole Bronzini was fileted before cooking, rather than after, which made it dry. the ambience was very nice. The service was amateurish and inattentive. It was as if the neighbors cam in to help.
Food is ok, not the best, but decent.
Wine list is not that great, could use some improvements there. If you plan to have more than a few glasses, get the bottle. They give very small glass when order by glass, bottle is better value!
Tiny place - really cute - gracious service and veey good food. Interesting selection of very nice wines as well. Great for date night or small (5 or less) group of friends/family.
Snug, comfy place with attentive, friendly service. It's Greek comfort food upgraded slightly. The Mezes are delicious , portions appropriately small for mezes. Loved the zucchini fitters and eggplant spread. The shrimp with ouzo scented tomatoes was excellent. We split a branzino which was delicate and perfectly cooked. Nice Greek wine selection. All in all, a lovely neighborhood place that we'll return to.
Food was really good, service was very laid back, ambiance was what one would expect in a neighborhood restaurant. We would definitely go back and would also recommend Snack Taverna to friends.
Went for dinner with the family on a Friday evening. The food was excellent, as was the service, and the space is cozy and charming. The Saganaki is as well prepared as any you'll find in the City. The Branzino was much better than the one we had at a well-regarded restaurant in Astoria a few weeks ago (which was very good). The watermelon and feta salad special was refreshing and perfectly balanced. Veal meatballs and shrimp Santorini were also delicious - well seasoned and prepared with obvious care and patience. Bottom line - Snack Taverna is a true gem.
Surprisingly good food with delicious seasoning. Much better than many other higher end Greek restaurants in the city. Wine list was mediocre.
Good place for quiet dinner. Bit slow though for only 3 tables booked. Would be nice to see more friendly staff
Always delicious and dependable.. great atmosphere. Pleasant neighborhood restaurant.
First I loved the ambiance. Really lovely place to have diner.
My main course was delicious, I had the daily special - starters were just ok. The dessert (baklava) was a huge disappointment.
Overall was a great experience
Always the best !
My favorite !
I could eat there every day ! ❤️
I love coming here. Food is always fresh and delicious, service is welcoming.
We loved this restaurant. It was cozy, candelit and the food was absolutely delicious! The staff were attentive without being obtrusive, and they have an interesting selection of wines.
We will definitely return!
Good food, not spectacular but good. We were the only table in the restaurant but service was really slow. Kind of a neighborhood gem type of place.
Food & service were very good on an off-day for this neighborhood gem.
My first time at Snack's new location. It's not quite as cozy, but it's beautiful and roomy. And the food is great, just like I remember.
On my most recent trip to New York, I happened upon this Tavern and had a wonderful meal with great service. I returned with a friend the next week and he enjoyed it as much as I did.
What a fun find! The staff here were wonderful! Helpful, happy, attentive... and the food was delicious!
