Ddelicious meal nice surprise

Our server was great. Our food was great. The room was rather loud. Overall, I highly recommend stopping here.

Excellent food. Vegetarian risotto was superb. Portions are large.

Great time, the food was delicious. Great ambience and our waiter was awesome, I will definitely be back.

Great food and drinks!

The food was absolutely delicious! Food portions were big and came out very fast. However, we had a reservation but weren't seated until 20 minutes after our reservation time. Whoever was in charge of seating customers was not doing a good job and had no idea what was going on. In fact, it seemed as if they were seating people without reservations. I was nervous our dining experience wouldn't be great but once we were seated the night turned around. I would go again but would be cautious to go on a weekend as it was packed and people were not being seated until 20-30 minutes after reservations.

I've been to Smokin' Betty's a number of times, and have never had an issue. On Saturday night, we had a 7:30 reservation and weren't seated until close to 8PM. The problem was, the host never kept us posted on when we would be seated, he kept disappearing from the host stand, and a lot of people were just left standing around with no one to ask for help. I finally asked a woman who was running around looking busy if she was a manager, and she said, "I can be," and I told her that we were a party of two and we'd been waiting since 7:30. Two minutes later, we were seated at a table. Not sure if this was the host's first Saturday night or what, but he could not handle the volume/job. Very unfortunate if the lack of service turned new customers away, because the food/service for the rest of the night was great! Just pretty disappointed by the initial issues.

I scheduled a reservation for 11 people 3 weeks in advance. We showed up at 7:30, our reservation time, and were not seated until 8pm. It took over 20 minutes to put our drink order in and another 40 minutes to receive the first drink, people from our table decided to go to the bar as it was quicker. When the food finally came out it was very good but the experience from arrival to finish was over 3 hours. When speaking to the manager the response was “open table over booked us,sorry”. Knowing they not only had my large party as well as a few others they should have staffed the night appropriately. When we told the manager that this was unacceptable he offered a round of drinks for the table which was fine but also right on top of the drinks my friends had to go again and retrieve from the bar due to such rediculouslu slow service. The food was great but they are not good at large parties.

We had reservations for 6PM. We arrived at 6 and we were asked if a high top was acceptable. We agreed and we were lead into the bar. After sitting at our table for 15 minutes we asked were our server was. We were told it was just the bartender and that if we wanted drinks and food we would have to go up to the bar order. If we were told this earlier we would not have agreed to the high top. Each time I needed a beer I had to leaver my table and get my own drinks. The bar tender eventually took our food order which was three appetizers. It took over 45 minutes to get our food - which again was just appetizers. The food was fine. The service was horrible and we were late for our show. We gave ourselves a two hour window. There are too many other restaurants in the City. Pick another one to eat at unless you have two hours to waste on getting your own beers and appetizers.

We enjoyed our meal at Smokin' Betty's. The food was delicious.

as always,great food for an affordable price. You can get a "thanksgiving dinner" to a burger or salad.Well prepared without breaking the bank. Perfect for before the theatre.

Food is really great! Ambiance isn't the best though if your looking for someplace to sit down and relax.

Seating took too long and owner seemed bothered that I couldn’t sit at a high top table due to a knee problem. Food was decent but took a long time despite a near empty dining room.

Excellent meal after the play. Took two teenagers and they loved their meals including quesadillas, mac n cheese and wings. The Betty Burger was huge and nephew loved every bit of it including burger, pulled pork, avacado and fried egg! Definitely want to come back!

Terrible service. Ordered champagne and it was flat. 2nd glass was not good either. The bartender acted like I was causing an inconvenience. I’m never a drink snob but I felt bad for sending this back. Every request took 20 plus minutes to complete. Even for a water refill.

Food was good for the price. Service was poor. The waitress took our order and never came back. Someone else dropped off the food, when it was served we asked for more coffee which fell on deaf ears. We had to request the check from the hostess. Pretty poor experience

My bf and I eat brunch here pretty often! It’s close to our house and the food is always great! However, the service is usually slow. We always aim to get here at like 10:30am because if you go at 10 (when they open) you won’t get your coffee until 10:30 anyways. The food is great though, so it’s worth the wait!

We visited Easter morning for breakfast. We chose it because a lot of the places had all you can eat buffets and we did not want that. The food was delicious. The pancakes were a huge portion for $7. The omelettes were also a huge portion and delicious. There was a lot of leftovers so we wrapped them up and delivered them to a homeless veteran we saw on the streets. Would highly recommend Smokin Betty's. We will be back next time in Philly

Great brunch; great barbeque!

Had a large group attend for dinner. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The menu had enough items without being overwhelming and the all of the meals were very good. And the prices were very reasonable. Our server, Seth, was great! Would recommend this restaurant.

BBQ was delicious. Service was spotty. Loved the corn bread muffins and sweet potato fries.

Found this little place by accident and glad I did! Food and service were excellent and I highly recommend it. A bit noisy but not too awful.

Had an amazing brunch experience! Service was excellent and the prices were a steal for center city. We can’t wait to go back.

Came here for Sunday brunch. Food was really good and presented well but service was slow. Had to ask hostess about drinks we ordered because we couldn’t find our waiter.

Love this restaurant! We made a reservation to celebrate a friend's engagement. We had asked if we could hang up a little banner behind our table but forgot to bring tape. The hostess went out of her way to find us a roll of masking tape. We really appreciated it! The food is always delicious and and has food for even the pickiest of eaters (we have a few of these in our group). It was a great experience and I recommend it all the time for brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Reserved a table for one on the app, but when I arrived I was told they wouldn't hold a table for one due to the number of people. Fortunately I was able to grab a seat at the bar, but beware that reserving a table for one doesn't necessarily reserve anything.

The veggie burger entree was delicious! Seth, my waiter, was very knowledgeable and congenial.

Please ask about dietary restrictions when taking orders.

Even though they were notified about our party having knee and back issues and that high top tables would aggravate the issues, they still seated us at a high top table for their convenience (other seating options were clearly available). Food was just ok. Won't be returning for anything special

A great place for brunch

Hadn't been to Smokin' Betty's in a few years and wanted to stop in for some comfort food. It was just as I recalled. Great food, amazing service, and exactly what we needed for a quick bite before a comedy show.

Nothing to write home about. Server was friendly and fairly attentive but the food was plain Jane. Nothing special. It was cooked and presented well.

The only downfall was that our waitress was also bartending in the other room and we were out of her sight. She was unable to check on us throughout the meal and we had to flag down bussers for extra napkins and drink refills. Other than that, the food was delicious as always.

One of my favorite BBQs in Philly! Great Ambiance and close to the Forest Theatre for pre or post theater performances. Enjoy their Chicken and Rib combo. Service was good!

Been there twice, and both times have been wowed by their food! They have delicious bbq but also have a great variety of non-bbq selections.

We had a wonderful birthday brunch experience. The Marscapone French Toast and fuzzy mimosa are a must-try! This was my third time here and my family’s first time and we all said we would be returning!
